Porting cyls w/ racelogic template and 4mil short rod
lms1977 replied to Atomic Monkey's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Lwatch how wide and how far down you go on the intakes on the out sides the sleeve gets thin between that and the transfers and they will crack over time. Good job on doing this yourself !!!- 193 replies

Porting cyls w/ racelogic template and 4mil short rod

I would still port before boring it just makes more sense IMO. I have done it both ways but prefer to bore after I port it Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk- 193 replies

Porting cyls w/ racelogic template and 4mil short rod

its a shame you don't have regular pistons to throw in so you can degree and port prior to boring in case you slip with the porting tools- 193 replies

Porting cyls w/ racelogic template and 4mil short rod
lms1977 replied to Atomic Monkey's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Here is the issue with the templates for a 4 mil just say you put a 54 mm crank 110 mm rod port it to 192 deg exhaust will give you 27.5 mm roughly top of cyl to top of exhaust port If you do a 58mm crank 110 rod same 27.5 mm will give you more like 201 degree if my calculations are right? You absolutely need to know how to degree a motor in to port it other than that your wasting your time. IMO You also need to know what numbers your shooting for when you degree it in.- 193 replies

first off before you even think of porting they cylinders you need to learn how to degree in your motor and figure out what type of rpm you want it to run or where the power needs to be.. the template might get you close but is not the true way to do it, it will probably be a good idea as far as the size or shape of the port possibly thou- 193 replies

Best Cylinder for MONSTER Torque Sponsors?
lms1977 replied to TIM LUTZ's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Do a Yfz frame with a raptor 700 swap there has been a few I seen you get modern suspension, and can easily have 60-70 HP pretty cheap.. They are reliable and have torque out the ass. -
Best Cylinder for MONSTER Torque Sponsors?
lms1977 replied to TIM LUTZ's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I think what he was trying to say Jesse is a 4 stroke is easier to race power delivery wise for this type of racing. Yes you can make anything work but now you have a quad you dump a lot of money in suspension just to be able to ride in this type of racing .. Then you dump a few more thousand in a motor just to make it easier to race in xc racing. IMO a 4 stroke would be a way better option -
Hahaha ok Tyler just made fun of my plumpness green made fun of my last eye and cam tried to burn me and my race bike... Wtf Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk

Yea most people are cool when you meet them in person.. I only had a few that were mean too me one set me and my fiddy on fire won't mention. Names "CAM" and one kept making fun of me being fat and having a crooked eye "TYLER" but other than that they were nice
-
Yea I was gonna say 48 pilots and 155-165 to start should put you in a safe spot to start
-
yep serval would be your best bet imo
-
Sometimes they don't clean up with only going .25 mm that's only .005 per side now if yours are worn at all that is now .004 or less per side if there is any scratches or not perfectly round or parallel worn harder at ports etc. One or both won't clean up. If it were me I would just do the .5 mm over if I had to give the machine shop the pistons I run into this when I bore cylinders blasters especially are always out of round and usually need to go .5 mm bigger

4Mil Serval Cub air box/filter questions
lms1977 replied to uman1030's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I made the mistake of trying to use a airbox with my 465 serval When I put pods on it was like night and day. -
All I have on mine is big bars and heavy springs in front.and a cheap shock in the rear.. You don't need much to have fun on these little things. I rode mine yesterday for a half hr just doing wheelies while my kid rode his scooter there just plain fun.
-
Hell yea can't go wrong with the lil fiddy I was just out ripping mine... Good luck man..
-
there is no for sure answer.. if it seems good then your probably ok, tighten your plugs up good to crush the washer then back them off and just snug them a little and take it for a rip, if they still don't back out at all and there is no sign of deto on the plugs etc then your probably safe?? if it were me I would build it closer to 145-150 psi for pump with the bigger motor how do you like it so far?
