  1. So after you get out the Pilot Jet (small one) is that replaced too? They said the kit came with 2 sets of main jets and 2 special needles. Is the pilot jet the same thing as the special needle they are talking about?
  2. Its been a while since I've been on here. I've had my banshee since last summer, its bone stock and runs fine. Its never been fucked with, so the carbs are set up just like it came from the factory. I know this because I bought it brand new, with factory warranty, never been started or serviced, its an 05. I think I told this story in one of my old posts (if your curious) Anyway I bought the Toomey T5 kit that comes with the uni-filter and airbox vents, the perfect jet kit, and the set of pipes. I have never jetted a carb before or anything. I rebuilt a Holley car carburetor but thats it. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, and love to work on stuff. Is there any tips or advice I need before I take on this project? None of my friends have 2 strokes, except one that has a bike and never jetted it. The kit is supposed to have instructions but I don't know how good they will be. I just want this to go smooth and run right. I didn't see any walk throughs or anything on this sight. Advice is welcome.
  3. I fully intend on buying pipes, but probably not for a couple months. I just wanted something quick and easy to do for tomorrow. The guy at the dealership says he takes his airbox top off and it adds power. Just so you keep your filter oiled and clean it would be fine. But the top kinda holds the filter in place so it seems kinda sketchy.
  4. I have a bone stock banshee, can I remove the stock spark arrestors and gain maybe a little performance? Is it safe? My shit runs a little rich anyway. I wanna race my friends stock 700r tomorrow. Any little edge would be nice. I'd like to remove the top of the air cleaner box, but i'm afraid the filter will pop out.
  5. is there really much difference between the carbon steel, and aluminum? The steel ones are much cheaper and look just as good. Is there a difference in the feel?
  6. Are the Protaper CR high bends for a dirt bike? I found a nice set. They are wider and not as high as the stock bars?? I don't understand.
  7. Thanks guys. I think i'm gonna like it here. Just got her some fresh gas for the weekend. I'll let you know what i decide. Anybody else wants to chime in, my ears are open for suggestions.
  8. I was lookin at some Fly bars. They look pretty decent for the price.
  9. I want to try some high rise handlebars for my banshee, but i've noticed the stock ones have about the same height as most "high rise". Also most high rise are significantly narrower than the stock handlebars. I would think that would not benefit steering much? Who has some good cheap bars for the banshee, and for what style of riding do they work good for? They don't have to be highrise. I heard highrise are good for trails? What do you guys use, and what do you think would be good for trail and track style riding, no jumps just hills and turns and whoops. Nothing crazy...Sorry if I sound like a noob idiot, I kinda am I guess...
  10. I just want something trail-able without sacrificing that top end for the occasional drag race or open dirt road. Still perform well in an MX environment. Just real well rounded.
  11. After all the stuff i've read online and you guys responses, I think i'm probably gonna go with the FMF fattys and power core 2 silencers. They seem to be about the best price. Close second would be the Toomey t5 pretty close pricewise and i've found them in kits with jets included. Alot of people said they couldn't really tell the difference between the 2, and they seem to both be reguarded as a good all around pipe. What do ya think??
  12. does anyone sell kits that come with complete exhaust, air filter, and jet kit all in one??? Featuring a good exhaust like FMF or Toomey or PC? Like an all in one deal??
  13. How about the T-5's? Where is a good place to buy complete PT or PC exhausts?
  14. HI , I am in the military and we just took over a base in a little crappy town. To make a long story short, me and my wife decided to get 4 wheelers for a new hobby. I went to a local dealer and found a BRAND NEW, never started, never serviced 05 Banshee. It had some trim extras on it that the dealer thought would help sell it. I bought it along with a Grizzly for my wife. It is now broken in. I don't really know shit about 2 strokes or 4 strokes for that matter. I am very proud of it and hope to become very knowledgeable on it. I don't want to mod the hell out of it, but I do want some pipes. I live in a desert environment, but don't plan to be here long. Me and my wife are from northwest Pennsylvania, so we are used to trail riding. I don't much care for sand, or dunes. I guess I want some pipes that are good for the woods, but still contribute to the top end. A good well rounded pipe. I have read a million debates about this topic, but they were pretty old discussions. Remember this thing is bone stock.
