better pistons ? wiseco or vitos ?
dirtbike drew replied to dirtbike drew's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
The vitos piston kit I was looking at are cast .020 over. Is the cast a good piston or are the forged better. The cast vitos kit $ 145 And the wiseco kit is .020 pro-lite forged. $175. -
better pistons ? wiseco or vitos ?
dirtbike drew replied to dirtbike drew's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
One more if I get vitos .020 over. T5 pipes. No port work on cylinders. I think boyesen reeds. Stock carbs. They do have bigger main jet in them now for the pipes. But don't recall off hand right now what size. With stock air box with k&N filter. What would be the size main jets I would have to put In them. Dose any one have this set up now or close. What is your main jet size. Thanks... -
better pistons ? wiseco or vitos ?
dirtbike drew replied to dirtbike drew's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Ok cool thanks. So if they are made by wiesco. Can I use wiesco rings on the vitos pistons superstock. Just want to know because it easier for me to get wiseco rings. And do u know how much 2 sets of rings are to re ring the vitos if I use vito rings. Thanks. I'm still looking to buy some soon but just not sure what way to go yet. Thanks. -
Hay I'm looking for quick info. I'm looking to buy a piston kit tomorrow and want to see that's the better kit wiseco .020. Or. VITO'S .020 CAST PISTON KIT. Both come with top end gaskets and wrist pin bearings. The wiseco kit is $175. Shipped. And the vitos is I think like $145 shipped. Want to see what is the best kit out of these 2. For the banshee. I'm boring it .020 over. No port work. T5 pipes. The thing is to that I like to re ring at least once a year and I can get wiseco rings for a good deal. Let me know what u think. Thanks for the info.

bills silencer with spark arrestor or not
dirtbike drew replied to dirtbike drew's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Yeah I know how to check them but. I'm not wanting to drive that far for nothing. Because if they are not spark arrestors in them I don't want them. I have some nice toomey silencer but I just wanted to get some sparkys I wanted to know if that's how they come new and if anyone has them. I asked him if they have the us forest approval stamp on them. And he said they do not. So that's y I though I will see here first. So does any one know if they do have. Them in them or not and will they mount to my T5. -
Hay all. I was looking at some bills silencers that some guy was selling. He told me that they have spark arrestor built in them. Do they ? And I have toomey t5 pipes will the bills silencers mount to my pipes ? And do I have to make some mods to make them fit ? .. And how many pipe springs do I need ? ... Thanks guys.

I got this quad a month ago and it was missing parts and I see that I didn't have the stops. And didn't know if I needed them or not and would it effect the way it runs and how it would perform. And I don't have no port work done with my cylinders yet. I'll look at them tomorrow but I think they have the small metal peace that would come with the reeds. Thanks for your info...... Drew
-
Yeah $90 for the bore both cylinders. And u are right I seen some piston kit with top end gaskets and two top rod bearings for $175 shipped. But the cylinders just have a little surface rust on them from sitting some where that's how I got them but no scrapes or anything like that so should I hone them or I was thinking just bore them .020 over or would .010 over be the best way to go I already had a shop look at them but they wanted I think like $65 a hole. To bore them. What would u all do ... Thanks.... Drew

dirtbike drew replied to dirtbike drew's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Ok where can I see them do u have a pic and who makes them what name brand and about how much do they run. I have stock carbs. I still have to do a top end rebuild on this I just got it about a month ago and was missing parts. So frist my working on getting it to run.... Just making a list of what aftermarket parts I should get.... Thanks. -
Hay just want some info is the boost bottle better then the stock balance pipe ? I read that it improve s throttle response and low-end power . But is it worth it and can u feel a deference or not and just stick with the stock ? ....

dirtbike drew replied to dirtbike drew's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Ok thanks guys I didn't know if oem spring was the same length and aftermarket ones for the pipes.. Thanks again .. Drew -
I'm sorry I can't get a pic of them until tomorrow and they are stock cages but I think the reeds are aftermarket maybe boyesen I think. Thanks .... They are a 2 peace reed I'm think that's called dual stage. Drew

I have the T5 and I don't have the springs can I get the stock ones for them or do I need to contact toomey and get there springs ? And on my silencers do they need brackets or do I just bolt them to the quad like that ??? Thanks Drew
-
Hay the 95 banshee project I got has no reed stoppers on them u know the metal that will bolt on to the cages. Do I need them or not ? Dk why there not on maybe a old performance trick ? ... And what will this do if I don't use them ? ... please let me know if u have any idea thanks ... Drew

Ok thanks. Yeah I want to do the tors remove kit some day soon.. But I'm still set on the key. If I go ride it up town go on the trails or where ever I'm riding and go in a store for a min or something. I just don't want some one to kick it over and start it and then there gone. But if I have a key then they not so fast to take it. But thanks for your input to...... Drew
-
Thanks but what does that tors box do ? And I all ready had a shop check the cylinder s out but they want around $350 for a .020 over piston kit. And I found a new ones on ebay for around $175-200 with top end gaskets and two rod bearings. And for the key its nice to have it. I have been riding and wrenching on 2 stroke dirt bikes for 23 years. And now to have a quad that can use a key sound sweet. My first quad is a quadzilla and I have a key for that and I like the opt and wanted to do the same with the banshee. Thanks for your info ..... Drew

Hay all I love this site I have found help with other post but now I'm in need of some help. I got my frist banshee a month ago. Its a 95 project it was miss a lot and still needs a few more parts. I don't have a top end on it now I need to bore the cylinders from sitting and I'm looking at getting a .020 over wiseco piston kit soon. But anyway. I still have the tors on it. And some day when I get the cash I'll remove them but for now I'm going to try to use them. I'm getting spark when I unplug the little black box for the tors by the coil. Or if I plug it back in it won't spark unless I move the thumb switch for the throttle then it will spark. I have no key switch yet I want to get one but for now I have a jumper from one wire to the other. I know that's not my problem but thought I would just tell u all. I'm getting good spark. Would I need to get a new black box or what do all u banshee pros think please let me know thanks. Drew
