  1. not sure how you work that rating out but I was always under the impression that the fuel you guys have is allot better quality than down here
  2. What octane are you running the best I can get down here is 98 octane
  3. Yeah I'm hearin you Muggzy I suppose allot of people would say welding the crank will maintain reliability but I'm not sure I want to pull down the motor just for that I'd rather wait until it needs a top end rebuild and do it all at once if you know what I mean, I suppose my biggest concern is detonation that will stuff a piston in no time flat which is why were probably hearing a standard bench mark of about +4 degrees. I know in cars we used to run +6 degrees all the time maybe its different for a two stroke.
  4. I keep reading about how much of a difference the ajustable timing plates make to the performance of the shee's but what I'm not 100% sure of exactly is how much of a difference it makes. Is it a small gain in power or will it yank your arms out of their shoulder sockets kind of performance
  5. Yeah I know what you mean about getting race gas I worked as a chopper pilot a couple of years back and even I couldnt smuggle avgas away from the aerodrome which is a shame cause that shit is 110/120 octane. and thanks for the welcome
  6. Hey guys how ya going Ive been looking at installing a cool head for quite some time the shee I'm riding is usually operating at sea level and most days average around 15 deg c through to 30 deg c Just wondering if anyone has any opinions on what brand of head does it for them and what size domes would be best to install considering that the pump gas down here has a max rating of 98 octane . The reason I ask this is Ive heard allot of people saying that after reaching a certain cylinder PSI you have to start running race gas and have your crank welded is this true. thanks.
  7. Thanks for that like the half price hoses pity it's purple though lol!
  8. You might be onto something there with those hoses as they are the same age as the bike and it does have the gritty balls and sticky squishy sludge happening. The bike is serviced regularly including coolant ( probably over serviced but that wont hurt it ) and the impellor, seal and bearing have all been replaced recently. Just out of interest where do you get silicone hoses for a banshee does anyone mould them to suit. thanks for that!!
  9. How ya going guys I'm new to the forum so I hope I've posted this in the right section. I have a 2001 Banshee that is getting a black gritty sludge in the coolant system and I'm wondering where it's coming from it's not losing any coolant at all and it isn't overheating and otherwise it's running sweet. I've been thinking about it for a while and the only thing that I can think it could possibly be is a leak in the head gasket between the cylinder and the water jacket causing carbon and other impurities to be transferred into the coolant system. Other than that this problem has got me stumped so I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions that you may have thanks :-)
