  1. Thanks. Oh, i tried everyhting to make the cylinder go all the way in (including using wrenches and screwdrivews), I mucst have bee trying for almost an hour. I eventually got it to fit by imliminating the metal shim that goes ont he inside pade and the circle on the cylinder. Im going to tun it this way until they wear down a bit and allow me to reinstal these removed items. In the meantime i hope it doesnt cause any harm. Thanks for replies,, Alex.
  2. Heya guys. Im new to all this, so to you guys who seem professionl on the matter this may seem like a noob question. I was replacinng the rear brake pad whcih is completely wore down. After removing the old ones and pushing the circular hydraullic cylinder that pushe the breaks out, i pushed it allt he way in. My only problem is that after instaling the new pads, they just dont seem to fit. Its missing about 1/100 of an inch space in order to fit, and wrap around the disk break.. I was able to make both pads fit on once i removed the metal shin that goes on the inside pad and i also removed the little circle cap from the ccylinder that puches out. I know this is not rite, but i was thinking about riding it like this until they wear down a little, then including these two parts again once the pads wear down a little bit. It this ok, or am i asking for problems. Thanks in advance, Alex..
  3. I too think it looks stupid. Just my opinion though. I would never even have thought about doing it. Especially with mud and puddles in woods. But hey, if ya like the look... Go for it!!!!
  4. Thank you all for the kind help and wonderful replies. I think some mistook my original question, or i should have worded it differently. I originally posted out of the frustration i expereinced when i visited the only bike shop in the area and wanted to see if others had similair experiences. I just felt as if they didnt want to deal with a product they stopped making/selling, and wanted to push a new model on me. Thank god for the internet.. Imagine just 15-20 years ago, we really would have been screwed. When I sold my Raptor and was looking for a Banshee, i knew i wanted a 2006 since it was the last year they made it in the states. I agreee with the post which mentions that the Banshee will probably go up in value and demand since its final edition here in the US. Im not having any problems finding parts online and am waiting on my T6's to arrive (Friday). I like to have my toys in perfect condition, so theres a few things i have already ordered online to replace ont he bike. Im in love with my new bike and was just getting a little worried that in a few years itlle be hard to come by parts, or youll have to buy used from others. Glad i posted, since you guys brought out some interesting points. Thanks again, Al
  5. I just recently sold my just bought 2002 Raptor, and went ahead and got a Banshee. Since my early days of riding (Blaster), i always wanted a Banahee. I originally went with a Raptor only to find out after riding it 2 or 3 times that the 4 stroker just didnt feel like a bikke that was for me. I sold it and got a Banshee. Ive been spending my days restoring it and trying to make it look like the day it came out the assembly line. So little bye little im sleaning her up and swiping used parts that dont look that good for new ones. Im the type of person that likes my toys to be in really good condition. Only problem is that everytime i go to the local cycle shop 10 minutes away from my house to grab something, they either dont have it or dont show too much interest in ordering it for me either. Alot of times they tell me to get it from the internet, that it will be cheaper. Other times i just feel like they dont show much interest in wanting to deal with me and my Banshee. I feel like i bought into a bike that a dying breed. Do u guys think that in the near future we will have a hard time even getting parts for this bike? And are some of u guys going through something similair. P.S. I love my Banshee and if in the future im forced to buy another bike, my Shee will still have a home in my garage.
  6. Well honestly, runnin from cops inmy opinion depends on where u live. I ride my Banshee around the block once in a while when im adjusting something or fixing it. Where i live they will not give you a slap in the wrist and will just take it. The fines and damage done by the penalties to your drivers licence is worse than what the bbike is worth. I live in Staten Island NYC. So again, depending on where you live i would agree on taking off or pulling over. Call me an idiot or whatever you want. But whre i live im riding like the wind!!!!!!!
  7. I have an 06 and went Toomey T6 Jets and Vforce reeds. All this ran me about 600ish and made a hell of a difference. Im sure the options are endless but just wanted to share what i did.
  8. Wow, thats horrible. Yes there are alot of scammers out there and you have to go out of your way to make sure what your buying. In my opinion its both parties faults. The buyer for not inspecting what hese buying and only going bye what some guy is telling him, and the seller for ripping him off. I would bet anything the 450 never blew up at all, and its just something hes saying so you dont feel too bad in getting ripped. Ask for pics of the blew up engine. He was smart enohgh to know that his bike was about to blow up and sold it really quick before it did, but yet he doesnt know what fuel to put in the 450?? Makes no sense sorry. 450 is still running strong and wants to make it look like a fair trade in claiming the same happened to the 450 then the Shee. Its really a shame and i hope one day he gets his. Sorry to hear bro.
  9. Yeah i think i got a decent deal. The only thing thats drivving me crazy is that a little 16 year old owned it and decided to spray paint the nerf bargs and half the motor a litgh brown color. What a moron. So ive been stripping the paint off little by little. Im almost done with it. Once done ill throw some pics up. Thanks again fellas. Great help!!
  10. Thanks guys for all fine suggestions. Yes ive learned more reading here the past week or two than what ive known since my riding days. Im going to go ahead and check all mentioned things. Then Banshee is not being ridden yet because i want to basically strip it down and restore it to as new a condition as i could get. I ordered the Toomey T6 pipes, Jets, and Reeds already and will put them on as soon as i could get the bike cleaned up and where i want it to be. I already removed both carbs and plugs and all seems normal. I cleaned the carbs, reeds, and flotes. I guess im going to start the strip down tomorrow with my new tools i bought today in anticipation to get everything working perfect for when the parts come in. Thanks alot guys. Great help, Alex.
  11. I would like to start by saying hello, since im new to what seems to be a great forum/community. A few years ago i had some dirtbikes/quads which i had to get rid of, and always seemed to miss it. The other day i jumped on Craiglist and found a blue 2006 bone stock blue Shee (I like the idea of it being stock) which he was asking 2700 for. I got him down to $2400 and took it home. Is that a good price for a clean 2006. The bike was owned bye a 16 year old kid and looks like he didnt keep up with it. Missing bolts, dirty, but other than that no problems i could see yet. Starts first kick. The only problem im having is that it seems to be spitting out way more smoke from one pipe than the other. What could this be??? And the other problem is that when i open her up and hit top of 4th, she seems to bog down and stops accelerating normally. What the hell could this be? All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Alex
