I've heard nothing but bad news about aftermarket stators. Why is that? I was talking with my local shop guy and he said that for most bikes, he'd just run an aftermarket stator and deal with whatever issues came up, but if he was building a race bike he would only go with an OE stator.

Why? Because I made a couple of smartass posts? I apologized for one, I was just fucking around. It was pretty obvious that I was just joking around unless you take yourself way too seriously. What the fuck do I care if people have no command of the English language? Is it because I have the audacity to be opinionated? Or can only certain people make snide remarks?

Nah, I'm just fucking around man. I think it was like 3 AM and I had just returned home from a strip joint and I was shitfaced when I made my initial post. I really feel for you man, that last thing I ever want to happen is to get fucked when I order some parts. I just now put my bike back together after about six years, and I've been ordering a shit-ton of stuff. In the last week I think I ordered over $400 worth of stuff, including a shift start from Mull (btw, you guys are awesome and top notch! I hope to do more business with you, especially regarding my head). I hope you get your shit resolved, getting taken for a ride pisses me off bigtime.

Weird. I was always under the impression that my bike was a '99. I bought it from a family friend who had it for two years and never rode it, and he bought it from a dealership here in town. My VIN says '99, my plastics are in the '97 color scheme, and I have no idea what year my engine is, but it matches neither the '99 nor the '97 numbers.

Sorry to threadjack, but how do you size outerwears? I have some small 4" long X 3 1/2" diameter foam filters and I don't know which size to get. Can anyone help me out?

You know, I've always wondered-- if you get one of those Dyna CDI boxes with the programmable timing curves, do you still need to get an adjustable stator plate?

I run the DMC 916 setup on my bike. They haven't failed me yet. The only issue I've had is that the rubber nubs that hold the boots onto the back have melted off a couple of times, probably because I didn't pack the silencer correctly. One question I have about them is which set of billet clamps to get for the stingers, the ones for FMF pipes or T5/T6 pipes. I'm sure it doesn't matter, I just don't want to order a too-small or too-big part.
