  1. I have almost the same identical problem, same side and all, mine had good compression on one side but the other is crap when it is running, and the pipe on the bad side when taken off has quite a bit of fluid in it and mine is runnin on the lean side as it has 200 mains and i need to be at 300s i think as the only mods to mine are dynoport drag pipes and right now pod filters and carbon fiber reeds in stock cages with stock 28mm carbs with tors removed so im at a loss as well. I can tell its not hitting on that side like it should be due to the ping of the pipe and the fact it and the head dont warm up at all compared to the other side. So im going to put new rings and head gaskets in and see what the heck that does lemme know if you come up with something different as my spark is great on both my plugs as well.
  2. stock heads and it was a complete tear down to the point of replacing the crank, pistons, rings and all gaskets associated with this and also stock reed cages and carbs. the plug on that side is really wet but i cant tell whether its coolant or fuel it looks and smells like both. i thought it was hydrolocking itself on that side but pulled the plug and kicked it over a few times and it didnt shoot anything outta the norm. funny thing is the "good" side pukes more smoke than the side that seems to barely be hitting....hell this thing is pissin me off
  3. Ok guys, i got my motor put all back together tonite and went to fire it up, well she started right away but blows white smoke like crazy, ya i know its a coolant leak somewhere so i took the clutch side apart and found i forgot to put the "c" clip on the aluminum line coming out of the top of the water pump, its the line that runs between the carbs up to the head would this cause my bike to smoke like that or do i have a bigger problem? Next i found the left pipe isnt even gettin warm while it was running but the right side was heating up like normal, and the compression on that side is nothing like the right as well. I checked to see if the plug was firing and it was...any help on these matters would be greatly appreciated guys. Thanks
  4. Dam man thanks for the heads up on that one, i went ahead and bought them, one of the needles is jacked up on the one with the choke, guy didnt say too much about it but i figure for 45 rips shipped to my door i will just find a needle or just buy a full rebuild kit for them so thanks again. And thanks for all the offers guys i appreciate it...
  5. im not ignoring the posts im just seeing what is all out there, thanks for the offers guys they are both good deals...
  6. I am in need of a set of stock carbs, i would prefer them to have tors removed, shoot me pics and a price shipped to 52501 lemme know, i dont need anything but carbs as i still have the cables off my old ones. thanks peeps
  7. ya they are HD springs, but dam i can hardly pull the clutch-never had any clutch this hard to pull....
  8. ok so i took them all the way down, then torqued them to 8, went to pull the clutch lever and DAM that thing is hard to pull in and the pressure plate barely moves out, is this normal for the clutch lever to be near impossible to pull in?
  9. cool thanks guys i appreciate it, will give it a try
  10. Just got my clutch half way assembled and am wondering how far or tight to take the clutch spring screws down as i know too tight it wont move but this is a non running motor at the moment, is there a way to adjust it outside of having it running and playing it by feel or just go by the torque specs in the clymer manual which says 7.4 lb/ft of which also seems to tighten them down an awful long way. Any info would be appreciated...
