  1. Need some insite on my head lights. for a 2003 banshee. They dont come on in either high or low positions. I checked the bulbs, they are both fine and both light up when supplied by battery power. I tried to trace a few wires, but they quickly ran under the gastank and behind the radiator, and i dont have the time to pull those off right now as i plan on going riding later today and tomorrow. I searched for a fuse box, and couldnt find one.' Any tips or maybe common problems to check when i have the time? I absolutly hate chassing down wires with a multimetere. But if i have too, guess i will.
  2. fairings are officially rhinolined
  3. thats about the lamest excuse ive ever heard lol. dont hit the caps lock button, one less button to push, saves time....
  4. yamaha recommends 32:1. and 40:1 is a long ways of starving it from oil.. and seriously loose the caps.
  5. Dude. Lose the caps. seriously. back on topic of clutches though. ive had some friends tell me its okay to up shift with out them, but not down shift and others say always use it. anyone clarify this?
  6. going to take the bike down to my shop tonight and do some rhinoling keep your eyes open for my new thread tomorrow!
  7. thats my back yard its shitty riding though. its WAY to rocky, kinda a 1st/2nd gear only riding.
  8. got the chain tightened up today wasnt pretty obviously once i bit the bullet and got down on the wet ground to look better lol. took it out for a spin, snapped a couple pictures.
  9. sand blasting is probably a little harsh. Id go with more of a media blast. if your only going for paint removal, the preferred method would be a soda blast.
  10. im down for a meet at winchester!! The dalles, oregon here. its like in the high 40's at the coast right now at 10 30 at night!
  11. i know what bolts you guys are talking about, i saw those, but they just didnt look like they would really help with the chain tightness, i figure it was just adjustments for the carrier. Guess ill mess with them tomorrow and see if i can get it to tighten up. Thanks!
  12. I feel incredibly dumb for asking this, this isnt a questoin i should be asking lol. I noticed my banshee chain is incredibly too lose. like i can work it off the sproket with my hand. But i dont see an adjustment to tighten it... Do i just need to remove a link? or is something hiding from me.
  13. yeah it took it out for a ride this morning behind my house. the terrain sucked so bad though i couldnt get it half way threw second gear but still, its nice to be back on a quad. Havnt had one for about 2 years now. been stuck with snowmobiles and streetbikes lol
  14. no i choose banshee because its a 2 stroke. and i prefer a 2 stroke over the 4's. and 2 strokes smoke... its just an old saying i heard a while back and liked it.
  15. you dont need to do any prepping. any reputable shop will do all that for you. I run my own powdercoating business. and even if a customer brings me in a frame that looks ready to go, i will still at very least wash it down very well if not still hit it with the soda blaster. It needs to be freshly cleaned, last hting you want to do is coat a dirty grimmey frame. do your metal work, and take it to the shop. Your going to get charged for prep work anyways, might as well let them do it, so you know its going to get done right.
  16. im going to poly coat all my plastics, so it wont even matter! and then they will never crack again in their entire life!
  17. banshee hands down. if it dont smoke, its a joke!
  18. It should be smoking out both pipes. There is one pipe for each cylinder. and well 2 strokes smoke. so both cylinders should be smoking. Whens the last time it was jetted or tuned up or had any maintence done on it? Might be time! as for the lights, check the stator. Seen lots of stators come loose and break the wires, meaning theres no electrical power any more. If thats not it, follow the wiring with a multimeter, you'll find the problem somewhere lol.
  19. Sup guys, couldnt find a new user section. so guess this is it? Anyways im chance, i just picked up my first banshee. finally after many years of wanting one. its a 2003 in very good shape for the most part. Came with both dirt and sand tires, toomy pipes, clean title, and best of all, was the price! only $1,800 BUCKS!! i dont know what prices are in your end of the world, but in mine, this bike blue books for 3 grand, and you find them all over for 2400-3000. So i scored one hell of a deal if you ask me!! The only two downsides i could find were, the plastic is a little stressed out im some areas, like when you bend it to far and it changes colors? you'll see what i mean in the picture. and theres a tiny bit of surface rust starting on the pipes. but to me thats not a big deal. specially with my plans anyways, i cant keep anything stock. I run my own business and do custom powder coating, annodizing, and polyurethane coating (truck spray in bedliners). So it wont be long and ill be tearing it apart and prettying it up. So some cool pictures to come on that! But for now, the only picture i have crusin down the freeway in the back of my buddys truck on the way home anyways, look forward to crusin the boards, but for now im off to bed. take it easy all!
