  1. thanks for all the help. i have some more pilots coming. played around with it and found if it was cold the thing seem to hit on both cylinders, then as it got warm the right bank started spitting. i would think that is a rich condition. i know why i went with a raptor 700 couple years ago.
  2. you know where i can find float adjustment specs for the pwk's? i will tear it down again after work.
  3. yeah, needles are the same. other than replacing jets, i haven't touched the floats. it wasn't doing it before. it seems to run ok till it warms up. once its warm the right bank starts to cut out. i'm starting to think that 55 pilots are too rich. thats all the dealer had right now. have to hunt for some smaller ones.
  4. i ended up going with 168 mains and 55 pilots. i got her running and the right bank is spitting and sputtering at off idle. the right bank is what blew up the time before. no vacuum leaks and carbs are synced. if you shut the fuel off the right bank runs out of fuel faster. pulled plugs and found it fuel soaked. swapped wires and plugs with no change. is it possible the carb is the issue. compression is 160psi. any help would be appreciated.
  5. i did find out it has 40 pilots right now.
  6. i'm just now completing my new build. its a 421 cub, ported along with the case. running 35 pwk's, 21cc custom domes, boss intake, t-5's, and v-force 3 and +4 timing. it used to be a 4mil stock bore dune port and i was running 152's. how much higher should i go to start out with. i was thinking 160. i'm about 3,000ft and temps will be 80 to 100.
  7. thanks for the help guys. i got on the horn with jeff at F.A.S.T. he said the shearers were the way to go. i did find out the case is ported as well.
  8. Just ordered some parts today. took the time to tell some tricks in building my engine. strongly urge anybody to call jeff for parts and service. A+++++++ service.
  9. i just ordered a set of custom domes from F.A.S.T. went with a setup to run pump gas for now. jeff was very knowledgeable and a ton of help. thumbs up on service. plus he's in kansas, fast shipping.
  10. its a 4mil with 68mm pistons. i have 36mm carbs. i only cleaned up the ports a little bit. there was some rough edges that i smoothed out. nothing drastic. its a trinity cub.
  11. I have t-5's now. will they work with a cub or will i have to get bb pipes. money a little tight till the summer, so if the t-5's will work i will upgrade later.
  12. Thats an awesome technique, its amazing what we do to finish out a weekend. i have never seen that one done.
  13. what are the benefits to have a custom cut dome to just one from pro design. sorry for all the questions, i was a four stroke guy, i'm intrigued with these interchange domes.
  14. currently out of service. rebuild stage

  15. thanks for the info. if yours is 180 at sea level with a 21, then a 22 at 3000ft should put me around 160 i would think.
  16. just for curiosity sake. how reliable is this setup in the dunes.
  17. what numbers are the highest for pump gas. the guy said that he had 190+ and 110 wasn't enough.
  18. Just picked up this shee in pieces. the guy was goin to build it but lost intrest. i have a trinity cub with wiesco blaster pistons. i would rather not run race fuel but will if i have too. he said he told them he wanted to run 114 octane so they sent him 22cc domes packaged from pro design. i looked and found this to be the biggest set of domes for a 68mm. so what compression will these domes produce. it is a 4 mil. also where should i start on jets. i have 36mm pwk, v-force 3, toomey t-5, k&n pods at about 3000ft. any advice would be appreciated.
  19. jetting won't be an issue really. i'm just trying to put these psi readings to a ratio form. is there a chart that shows a conversion. i just dont want to over due it on octane and hurt performance and waste money. i am roughly at 5000ft here in colorado where i live currently. what is done to this thing to give that kind of readings with stock jugs?
  20. new to the forum. just sold my raptor 700 and picked up this 99 banshee. previous owner said all the work was done by alba. it has a 4 mil, cool head with 17cc domes, 35 kehin carbs, he said it has stock bore. just pust a boss intake manifold on it. i have been goin over this quad with a fine tooth comb before i hit the dunes with it. i did a comp test and got 192/195 psi. i think this is a little high. he said he was running 114 octane. my main question is at 3500 to 2000ft is 114 to much? would it be fine with 111. also it is tuned for 32:1 klotz techniplate for 8000ft. i want to bring down to 3500 to 2000ft and i have 142 mains in the carbs now. would 150's be in the ball park? any help would be greatly appreciated.
