Hey everybody I've been a member of this site for a while back when I had my 03' an 02' banshee, which were sold years ago but I'm buying a nice 01' shee. The only thing I'm going to change is the gay boost bottle somebody wasted 30 bucks on. It has FMF pipes on it which I'm not a fan of at all, reeds, ported cylinders shaved head, reeds and v force cages, jetted with KN single filters which i have heard dont trap fine particles. Its clean with new tires spare parts and clean registration for 2,000 dollars, which around central new york is a steal

well lets wait until camatv replies to this, although he'll bitch out probably, an i'll talk banshee theology all day and i'll bet money i know more an can do more performance work an such than him. cant even tighten there chains, come on come up with something better than that, like 90 percent cant adjust there valves when they stage 3 hotcam there banshees

i can get these brand new off ebay for a little over 400, i can do 200 because of the patch work?? not trying to insult you this is what im willing to pay for them

gotta couple questions, are you seeing a loss in power/ snap, are both silencers pouring heavy smoke, what does the smoke smell like, if your burning trans oil it will smell kinda like melting plastic BTW, does the smoke stay the same throughout the run, as in just starting and warmed up does it smoke less or the same?? if you could answer these questions for me

i know its gonna sound like a pain, but take the carbs back off and clean the pilots with a needle, then set your air fuel screws to about one an a half turn out, sounds like there leaning if it only runs on choke, its good practice an everyones been here befor, good luck man. PS dont forget the choke tube in the front of the carbs or your motor could lean out an blow up

CLEAN YOUR NEEDLE AND SEATS REALLY GOOD!!!!!!!! by what you just described its sounds like its not getting fuel

did you use new gaskets first of all?? and secondly just because everything looks good dosent mean anything. theres a thing called clearence. that need to be met for a good running machine. your cylinders are most likely worn past the limit an will need to be bored. you should only go .50 over. the sleeves wear not the rings because there steel bore not nicasil unfortunately. hope this helps.

yup its probably tired thats why i rebuilt my top end. after it gets lower in compression mid-range will be mostly gone. my top end lasted 6 yrs tho jus rebuilt it 2 weeks ago only had to go one size over stock which is sick for being an 03'. and the only reason i did is because of the mid range it still pulled like a som bitch.

running with lid on, now do i bottom the screws out till they can turn anymore or just flush/ then back it out 1 1/2 turns?

k i think im at 2 turns out so il do 1 3/4 an re-test?? i mix klotz r-50 at 3 ounces per gallon of 93 i think thats between 32 an 40 which is a good amount of oil, not to rich but not lean

hey everybody. my shee seems like it is eating plugs quicker than it should because its running to rich. only mods are just toomey t5s and 280 main an stock pilot. needle probably in stock position. i live in ny, not sure of the elevation but i cleaned the carbs and messed with the air/fuel screws. now it is to lean because the plug is gray. can anybody tell me a good place to start on the screws would be please. it seems to have alot more power an less boggy but i dont want it to go boom because i just rebuilt it a few weeks ago. thanks guys

i know for a fact there are no outside forces acting on it ie leaking gaskets or boots.

hey new here, just rebuilt my banshee. ever since i've owned this machiune it seems like the right side is richer an smokes a little more than the left, can i swap the main jets over to see if it makes a difference or should i play with the air screw. after about 1/4 it smokes like the right side. thanks guys
