ok doing all that everyone is telling me about. still having the hott issues, but the bogging down got good, and it's running fine in the top end. i just realized the some oil is coming out where the kickstart is. does anyone know what i have to replace to get that to stop. -

yeah, i dont know what is going on with it. i have had it a lil over a year, and it's never done that. but it seems like after i cleaned out the carbs, all this stuff is happening to it. how do you sync up your carbs. i checked the slides, and they both pretty much go up and the same time. i don't really know what you guys mean by sync'n. let me know. thanks for the info guys. -

ok, conditions were the sandhills, and it was round 98 outside. didn't ride hard, and not for very long. just round 10 to 15 minutes a run. didn't want to push it, since i just redid the carbs. but i did let the motor get cold, and went riding, and the resevoir did fill up and fluid did come out the hose again. added more fluid to the radiator. i don't know where the gear is that you are talking about to check it, so if you could let me know, i will check it. and how do you know if the cap is bad. just by replacing it or what? thanks for the replies. -
well i took the ole shee out, and it ran fine, but everytime i stopped, the overfill in the back would start to leak. the hose that run on the top and goes to the front of the shee was leaking a lil. not alot, just kinda seaping. any ideas as to what could cause that. i mean, shee is running fine, just getting a lil hott i guess. is the resevoir suppose to be filled with fluid, or not. cause right now, mine is. let me know. thanks in advance.

ok, so i finally had some time to get on the damn thing and see what this banshee could do, and well it runs fine on top, but getting outta first still boggs down bad. i have to rev on it to get it going, but once there, is a bad azz. so let me know what you guys think. thanks. -
so the oil that you check by the kick start is the tranny oil or what. i just called the yamaha place, and they gave me yamalube 10 40. what do you guys think.
-
so when ya'll are talking atf, are you talking bout just the tranny, or what. i was talking bout changing the oil in the motor itself. does it just take one and that's it. motor and tranny together. i haven't owned a banshee long, so my bad for the all so obvious questions.

UPDATE@@ I did what you guys told me. i guess one of the slides was in wrong, and well it's at least staying on at a nice idle. but still have to rev on it to get it to run nice under load. it runs great once it's up there, but getting outta first is a bia sometimes. let me know what you guys think. thanks for all the help. -

i am sure that i put the slides in correct, but i have a chance to check today. i didn't really pay attention to that. but we'll see...the carbs are off right now. anyway, bout the slides, i know that the lil indention goes on the slider left to right, but i don't know what cut angle you are talking bout. let me know. thanks for the input. -

well the 91 is still running like crap. i cleaned the carbs again, used a lil air to clean out those hard to reach holes. but still the sme ole thing. how can it run fine from one second to another. i mean, i rode it to the shop, and then after cleaning the carbs and filter, it's boggin down really bad, and dies under load. high speed is fine once it gets there, but other than that, CRAP!!! any help would be appreciated. o and i already changed the plugs. so idk. we'll see.... -
are you selling the fullbore set up. let me know if you are, and what the price is. thanks.

well i did everything. the tube for the choke was off, and when i put it on it worked fine. still a lil laggy on the get go, but then it picks up. what kinda gauge do you need to do a compression test. i have an ole snap on one, but shoot, when i tested it, it was hella low. like around 25 or so. i think it went as high as 30 once. but i don't really know the proper way to test either. i just took out the spark plug and kicked it over, and that's what it read. well my dad kicked it over. anyway let me know what you think. oh, and on another note. i cleaned my carbs on my 91, and well now it's runnin like crap. i replaced everything this time, and it's hella laggy now. when i rode it to my dads house earlier, it was runnin really good, now it's crap. what do you think. i changed plugs, cleaned filter and filter basket, cleans the carbs jetts and all entrances, checked the reeds and the cage. everything seems to be fine. i kinda feel like i should have left it alone since it was doing well. guess the sandhills are outta the question for this weekend. haha...anyway, let me know what you think. i found the needle clips and the tube. thanks....... -

ok, thanks guys. i'll check on that today. and i'll look for that vacuum tube. do you have to take that off when you are taking the carbs off. i don't remember taking any tube like that off...........thanks for the replies. much help.... -
ok, i am having somewhat the same priblem. i am new to banshee's. so first, what are the needle clips, and where is the choke tube. i took the carbs off of mine, and put them back on after replacing the throttle cable, and now it wont start with pulling it. and before when it was on one cylinder it would start first kick. so where is this choke tube and needle clip. let me know thanks. sorry if i trashed your thread man, didn't mean to, just interested. thanks in advance.

i just bought a 99 banshee, pretty much all stock except for k&n filters. it ran fine for the first couple of days, [would usually start with half a kick. but now i have been romping on that kick start, and nothing]. and then it started to bog down really bad. i got to tearing down and i just happen to look at the sliders in the carbs. don't know if that's what they are called. haha...but anyway, only one was going up. so i tore the tors apart and found out that the throttle cable was broke. well i replaced the cable today, cleaned up the carbs and installed everything back in the way it came out. and now it won't start at all. i can pull start but then it won't stay on. i think that i need to adjust the idle but don't really know how. i have read alot of other topics, and the main one of my concern is the top end. does anyone think that that could be the problem. let me know. fyi, i just did some comparisons and my throttle play on my 91 is less the a 1/4, and the one on the 99 is a lil more than that. but anyway, let me know what you guys think. thanks in advance.
