  1. Keep us posted on that JD. I'm going to be heading for the dunes on Presidents day weekend, if you don't have them done I'll just do a temporary fix until you have that bracket ready to go. I'll take one ASAP!
  2. Hey guys I'm pretty new to Banshees and my bike is basically stock. Right now it has T4 pipes, K&N pods w/out the airbox and thats about it as far as mods. I found a Chozen Performance cool head w/19cc domes on Craigslist for $50. It sounds like a good deal to me but I just want to make sure it would be the right set up. Can I use the stock hardware? Are the seal kits available for these or can I use the pro design kit? Last question is the dome the correct size. We only ride the dunes so we are usually at sea level. If its the correct set up I would like to go pick it up tomorrow. Any help is appreciated!
  3. My bad....I emailed them @.com but its a .net address. I think I'm going to buy one, it looks like a good set up.
  4. I tried contacting GB racing guys and the e-mail does not work......Does anyone know if they are still around?
  5. Which bend are you using???
  6. I know people have been relocating their CDI's and possibly coolant bottles to clean the rear of the frame up. Does anyone have any pictures or write ups on how they did it. I cut off all the BS brackets today in prep for powdercoating and want to move the CDI and coolant bottle when I re-assemble the bike. Any help is appreciated!
  7. Well today's the day the tree huggers try and stir shit up.......I'm anxious to hear some feedback from someone who made it to the meeting.
  8. Post some pics when you get back! Have a good trip!
  9. Anyone heading to Florence for Presidents Day weekend? We have a group of 20+ staying at Driftwood. Can't wait to get back on the sand!!! Let's keep our fingers crossed for a dry weekend!
  10. I'm having some work done on my motor right now and have a question about my clutch basket. If I hold it by the gear with one hand and grab the other side with the other hand....should there be a little bit of play when I turn it. When I turn it the gear moves a hair....Is this normal??
  11. That is terrible news!!! What is their reasoning??? I wish I lived closer to be there! Good luck!
  12. Thanks!
  13. Can someone post a link to the ones you are talking about??? Is it an EBAY store?
  14. I used Krylon for Plastic Paint. The grey that I chose is a matte finish and actually is the similar texture to bed liner. It looks pretty good and even has a little bit of metal flake in it as well. I have been really happy with it and would recomend it!
  15. I'm getting ready to do a complete tear down this winter. The reason for the tear down is I have a new frame and swingarm as well as other components I'm getting powdercoated. I also have to change out the crank case seal. This is my first Banshee and I am learning as I go. I know this is a broad question but I'm looking for any tips or advice from people who have done a tear down before. I already purchased a clymer manual but other than that I'm just going to start tearing it down.....thanks for any advice!
  16. I used Kryon Fusion for plastic as well. I did 4 coats and it has held up well for me also. I sanded mine to scuff it a bit and it turned out pretty good for $30. Good Luck
  17. Thanks for the replies guys. The guy I talked to about doing the PC work mentioned a shorter process for the A-Arms which would not melt the ball joints. He said he has done a lot of Banshee's and as long as its a sand bike the PC should hold up fine on the A-Arms. Im thinking of doing candy red on the frame and other components and then going Matte black on the plastics and black/machined SS wheels. I'm going to start the tear down in the next couple of weeks and then send the frame and everything else to PC'ing. I'll post some pics. Thanks again for the input
  18. Hey Guys, Getting ready to go for a last minute dune trip. I just picked up a set of used T4's to swap for my stock pipes....need a little advice on what size jets I should go with. My bike is basically stock. The dunes are at 1,100 feet elevation. The guy I bought them from said he was running 290's with a stock bike as well. Does that sound right???? Thanks for the help.
  19. I'm getting ready to do a complete tear down of my first Banshee and p/c my new frame and swingarm. What other parts should I do while I'm at it. I am planning on doing the a-arms and hubs already. Has anyone powdercoated their axle???? Any pics and other part recomendations are appreciated! Thanks!
