  1. Do any of you guys know what is safe to put on the Shee fenders to get the paint off(that the guy sprayed on i bought it from)without eating the plastic? I want to get that new graphic kit that covers all the plastic instead of buying new plastic and putting the graphics on it. I want to get one of these kits for my Banshee. Thanks in advance. i want a kit from this site you guys posted http://www.invisionpowersports.com/
  2. Cool thankyou, looks like it fits and looks good. I got maier plastic for my 250r years ago and it didnt look as cool as the factory plastic, it didnt have the same curves. thanks i am debating on whether to get a new color plastic or that graphics that you just stick over the plastic. mine is in good shape, just dont like the color the guy tried to paint it and its got runs in it. Does anyone know if that graphics kit you can buy with different designs to cover all the plastic is pretty thick so it covers up scratches in the plastice or small gouges? Thanks
  3. Where do you get the carbon fiber stuff on your gas tank? is it stickers or actual body panel? thanks
  4. Cool i will have to go and check it out. thanks for the post
  5. Anyone know of a good place to purchase new body panels for the Shee? And a site that i can look at alot of color options? I like the all blue, then red with yellow, well i like all the colors but gotta make up my mind and maybe see some online to get a idea and make a decision. Thanks
  6. I wnat to know about this to since i have an 87. Shouldnt there be another mounting point for the upper a-arm? Shouldnt there be 2 mounting spots for it? i see the one for the j-arm. That would be sweet if you could just bolt it on and go.
  7. Thankyou, i had the bolts loose just needed to kick the tire harder. Thanks for the help and answers
  8. Sorry for this stupid question, but i have no manual and tried to adjust from dirtbikes, quads i had before and it dont work. i loosend both the mlong bolts at the back with locking nuts and loosended a couple others above it since it didnt seem loose. i cant get the chain to loosen, this guy i bought the Banshee from has the chain so tight i am suprised it moves. thanks in advance
  9. I wnet through and adjusted the pilot air screw to 2 turns as recommended on this site, What a difference. I counted 3 turns b4 i redid it. well i know it isnt as fast as you guys, but it flies now. i hit it in any gear and it fish tails on the cement or dirt, it dont matter what gear either. I have a few other issues to take care of, the exhaust leaks where the pipe and the silencer meet, the rubber is cracked and leaking i am sure robbing power. it looks like the guy i got it from used heater hose and did a hack job. But it flies right now i am impressed with this Banshee. i have a low 10 second drag car and have a Arctic cat ZR900(have 2) and this banshee impresses me. but i am saying what i have done with cars and sled, this thing is fast, but i know its got more and wont compete with you guys. But i am happy and thats all that matters. I didnt think a carb adjustment would be so much but i forgot i went from a regular good holley carb (8156) on my mustang to a pro systems carb and it went from 10.60's 133mph to 10.20's 135mph with a carb change. and my old carb was good just needed the right tuneup. thanks guys
  10. Anyone have a good diagram of what is what on a banshee carb? I dont have a owners manual at the time, i tried to search the web for a digram but non of them are good. thanks
  11. Thanks for all your answers to my questions. I have to check where the guy has the needle clip at, i put the plugs they say are right which is the ones you guys say to. When i took the plugs out the color was a little fat not much, but on the right side or throttle side the plug was a little wet. i take it for a ride now and it wants to flip backwards just rolling out, not dumping clutch which i know they will, then mid range and higher it bogs down a little, it isnt as crisp as the first time you hit the throttle. i havent drove it much other then in my neighborhood, maybe i didnt let it warm up enough. I was gonna take it to trails, but i couldnt get my buddies trailer, mine was stolen during the winter. Gotta go buy one so i dont have to depend on other people. i could of thrown it in the back of my truck but my girlfriend wanted to ride her oddessy to and couldnt get em both in the back of my f-250 short bed even standing one up. I am trying to find my compression gauge so i can check compression to make sure i can run lower octane in it then what the guy said he ran. it has a K&N airfilter on it and its clean as new. I dont know if a reed is messed up or if the jetting or air fuel screw messed up i will have to check it compared to what you guys have on here. the guy i bought it from i dont think new much i think he bought it and freshend the motor and just up and sold it. i can tell the motor has been apart. like i said its strong from a low roll or holeshot and midrange its not clean. thanks for all your help.
  12. I went to a motorsports place and purchased spare plugs for the Banshee for when i go ride incase i have any problems. Anyways the guy looked it up and gave me NGK BR8ES but the Shee has BR9ES plugs in it. which do i run? Also what should the clip be set in the needle jet? I need to check that out to. Its seems to be strong as other Shee's i have rode before so i think its probably right but i want to know for sure. When i find my compression gauge i am gonna check the compression to make sure it is what the guy says it is, so i do run the right octane fule in it. Thanks  What should the gap be?
  13. thanks for your info, i remember back in 1989 when 2 of my buddies bought new banshees, the boost bottle was the thing to get, drill holes in the airbox, reeds and clutching, and my one had paul turner pipes, dont know if that kind exist anymore or not, thats what i had on my trx 250 and boysen dual stage reeds. But my buddies stock 89 would keep up with my buddies modded out 89 with all the stuff i stated. so the boost bottle isnt helping me, cool thanks, i learn as i go.
  14. the airbox is untouched. i have a polaris sportman 500 h.o to and the airbox has a piece that goes up under the gas tank, the airbox on my Banshee just has the cover with a oval shape at the front and thats it i dont know if its missing anything that connects to that and goes foward to keep dry or not?
  15. I do alot of my riding close to oscoda and camp at the rifle river place in Lupton not far from oscoda. Oscoda is nice, my buddied from michigan hot boat association used to go up to the tipper dam i think its called.
  16. I asked the guy i bought it from and he said he was told to run that much octane. I think he liked the smell of it. I hear alot of guys when i race my sled running more octane then they need. I know its different, but i have a stock 2004 and a stock 2005 Arctic Cat ZR 900 sno pro's and they can run 87 octane, it says right in the manual, so i run it, its safe and i can save cash. I know its different probably with the Banshe i have though
  17. I am from Jerome Michigan which is by Michigan International Speeday(15 miles west)(about 30 miles from Coldwater). I am originally from Westland Michigan. All you guys have some nice Banshees and sounds like they fly, and looks like it by the pictures i see to. They all look sweet. Ya i always loved a Banshee. They hold their own against anything from the day they were built to the current day. i just cant wait to play with the 450's at BULL GAP. I see the Banshee wins some and loses some against them 450's but the Banshee still flies and the Baddest quad. i love mine so far and all the one's i rode before. Thanks for all your replies, i hope i can get my Banshee to look half as good most of yours. The guy painted frame blue, a-arms red and dull black over the the white fenders. i am gonna get new plastic, maybe gloss paint the fenders for now and put my own graphics on it, i have my own vinyl graphics cutter to design my own. Thanks  mine looks good other then the primered black fenders. Some tlc and it will be good, i got it for cheap($1,600), i seen alot of others for 2grand plus but all them had been beaten and time for rebuild. this one i seen for sure the motor is fresh, and it feels real good and crisp. i will know more this weekend when i hit the trails and race up the Steep sand hill at Bull Gap. Its has stock pipes, as far as i know it only has a boost bottle, dont know what kind but it looks alot different then stock, its supposed to have stock reeds. It's supposed to be all stock except for .010 pistons.
  18. Hi i am a newbie and have questions on my Banshee. Its supposed to be an 87, the engine number is 2GU-009989 and i can't find the seriel number on the frame to look up on the topic posted on how to determine the year. I am new to the Banshee i have rode buddies Banshee's and loved them, i always had trx250's. Ok the guy says its a rebuilt motor, you can tell its been apart, he says its .010 over piston. Ok what octane gas should i run? What oil should i pre-mix in it? i use amsoil for my dirtbikes and snowmobiles. What ratio gas to oil? He just has a boost bottle and that all. What gears should i dun in it, i ran a 12 tooth front and stock in rear on my 250. I will be doing alot of trails and race up hills, sand hills one called BULL GAP in Michigan. i just want it to stay together but yet hold its own against other quads. Should i check what the c-clip in the carbs are at? Also i want to change the tranny oil what should i use? Sorry for so many questions i am excited to finally have a banshee and want to get it ready to ride this weekend. Thanks in advance. P.S the guy i got it from said he was running 110 octane which i think is way to much probably robbing it of horsepower. I know when i dynoed my race car motor in my mustang to much octane robbed me power. Thanks also if i did a compression check on it, what should the compression be? It feels real strong. I want to put reeds in it to, the airbox cover is still on and untouched, all my buddies had holes drilled in theirs.
