My buddy was just doing me favor. He works at a laser cutting shop and I just gave him the design and he cut it out for me. JD on this site does some nice work with grills, before I had my buddy do mine he gave me a pretty reasonable quote. He can pretty much do whatever you want. Just click on JD's Customs under the sponsor section on this site and he can hook you up.

Don't worry your young little beady eyed flappy head my Canadian friend. As I said in my original post I have mesh backing to put in behind the grille, but it's more for cosmetics then to protect my radiator. I don't know about you but I try not to ride close enough to catch rocks in my face, and I usually try not to run into shit that's going to fuck up my bike.

I wish I would have read this thread prior to buying the piece of shit timing plate I just received from Vito's. I knew that the RS stators were dog shit from reading other posts, and I didn't know that the timing plate I was ordering from Vitos was an RS plate until it arrived in the mail. I decided to give it a try and began installing it on my bike. When I went to tighten down the screw for the stator I couldn't because the fucking threads were stripped. There should be a disclaimer on Vito's website : "If you buy this piece of shit part make sure that you keep your stock one because 10 minutes after you install it you will have to tear your bike back apart and install the stock plate again!"

Motor: Stock Elevation: Sea Level Temp: 65-85 degrees Pipes: FMF Gold Series w/ Power Core 2 Intake: Pods no box Pilot: Stock (27.5 I think) Needle: 3rd clip Main: ?????? Air Screw: ??????

I had my buddy do some laser cutting for me. Next is black plastics, and some mesh to throw in behind the Grille. And the flag to go with.

I bought a pair on here awhile back and the petals were cracked and I need some replacements. PM me if you got some layin around. Thanks, Alex

I would say 5-7 gallons max, and compression is 124 in both cylinders. starts up and no hesitation like before now that the regular is out of it, but have not ridden through gears.

The Bike is bone stock except for it has pods with the air box removed and stock pipes. I told him to run Yamalube Type S (or R, which ever has the banshee on the bottle I can't remember) with a 24:1 ratio. We took it out last weekend and they ran about 4-5 gallons through and then we took it out this weekend and went through another 3 before it started fucking up. When it started stalling out and backfiring I asked him if he mixed it right with premium and 24:1 and he told me that he just got regular and ran a 24:1 ratio. We immediately drained the gas and put premium in it but I think the damage is done. We pulled the carbs off and cleaned them up and it seems to be running alright but I can't really take it for a test ride on the street. When I put premium in it at the sand it would start up and seem to be running alright and then when I would get it hot and run through a few gears it would fall on it's face, start back firing really bad, die and I couldn't get it started until it would cool. It has 250 mains in it right now with a 25 pilot, it could be the jetting but I don't know.

I'm pretty sure that detonation occurred...and if it did what does that mean? New top end (piston, rings, head)?

My Friend bought a Banshee and didn't know that you had to run 92 Octane so he ran it on Regular 87. Now it hard starts, and back fires after it gets warm and then dies. When you get it running it does alright at first and then falls on it's face and won't start again. What are the possible issues that can arise when you run to low of an octane fuel? Thanks,

I want some black plastics, I'm willing to trade my blue 06 plastics plus some $$$ if they are in good condition. Or I'll just buy them. Thanks.

Found the problem. The slides were reversed in the carbs so it wouldn't idle right. Thanks for the help.

OK forget the mains what size pilots. Right now the stock 25 pilots are in there and I can't get a descent idol response no matter which way I turn the air screw. It just sits there and bogs at >1/4 throttle should I go up to 27.5's? Thanks.

Stock pipes. I'm trying to get this damn thing to run and it just won't go. I put in 250 mains, 25 pilots and have the air screw 1.5 turns out but it is really bogging at idle. I can't figure it out. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Alex

My friends girlfriend just got a new bike. It's bone stock with with Pods and K&N filters. We ride at sea level in about 65 degree weather. What size mains should she be runnin? I was thinking 250 but I'm not sure. Thanks.

Any help is appreciated...

I just bought some VF2 reeds and was wondering what I should change my jetting to if at all. I'm currently running a 310 main, 25 pilot, w/ the needle on the 3rd clip, and the air screw out 1/2 turn Mods: FMF Fattys w/ Power Core II K&N Uni-filter w/ Proflow adapter and lid removed TORS eliminator Elevation - Sea Level Temp - 70-90 Now I know that 310 seems pretty high for the main jet, but it runs great right now. Should I even change it at all? Thanks for any help.

I was pissed...I went out riding this weekend and I had my roommate record the PPV event. I got home yesterday and was watching the fights, and right after the GSP fight the fucking recording stopped. The only real fight I wanted to see was the Lesnar Mir fight and it didn't record. FUCK COMCAST!!!

Every time I see a post from this kid it makes me want to slap him a little more. :shoothead:

I guess I'm just going to have to use the heat tape and hope for the best.

I thought that might be it as well so I took it off and switched it around and it didn't fit right. The chamber on the exhaust is what is touching the coolant line, it is touching right where the line goes into the crank case, on the first bend. Unfortunately I don't have a pic.
-
I don't think it is that. I bought my bike brand new last year and just put these pipes on. I doubt that it was shimmed incorrectly from the factory. I bought the pipes used of fleebay and I think they are just sitting weird on the bike.

I just got a set of FMF Fatty's and installed them a few weeks ago. I haven't had a chance to take it out yet because I've been swamped with work. I was checkin my bike out cause I'm heading out for the weekend and I noticed that the coolant line that comes off the bottom of the radiator into the crank case is touching the exhaust. What can I do to fix this? If I wrap the coolant line in insulated heat tape will that protect it? The last thing I want is for that hose to melt out for me to loose all the fluid out of the radiator in the middle of the sand.

no start no spark and no headlights when cranked
Doddy replied to Dan's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I didn't know 87 Banshee's had TORS. I didin't jump any wires when I removed mine. Just Cut the wires going into the switch at the throttle, and unplug the TORS box which is located under the gas tank near the left fender. Could be a bad stator. -
Depending on which Hella lights your trying to run there not all 110W. I bought a set off Ebay for $40 bucks brand new for my truck and they were only 55W, and they're bright as hell. It depends on which style lights your lookin for.
