  1. Thanks again for the positive comments. As to the paint job, yeah I rattle canned it with Rustoleum High temp flat black. The stuff is great and I don't have to worry about the rattlecan look like you would with gloss paint. I use the high temp on the whole frame and cases so I can do touch up to wear spots anywhere with the same paint and no worry about overspray from frame to engine. I used a 3 step process with primer and two different yellow Krylon paints to make the yellow really pop on the hubs.
  2. Funny thing about the seat cover. I actually ordered a different one that was black with yellow flames to match the shock covers and they sent the one in the picture by mistake. I got it off eBay from PowerPlayATV. I called him up and made good on it though. Told me to keep it and he sent me the one I originally wanted as well. Good stand up guy. Turns out I like the one that was a mistake better anyway. Bought a used seat from an HQ member and put the other cover on it so I can swap em out when I want a little different look. I have never seen one like this one on eBay though, so might have to email him and send him a picture of mine to see if he can get you the same style. I think he orders them from Verde Powersports so that is another option as well.
  3. They were 8.99 a can and I used every bit of 2 cans worth. Now that I have been riding it for a couple months, I wouldn't recommend the Rustoleum Brand. It has a great texture but it isn't holding up as well as I would like. Chips off too easily, could have been my prep work but I was pretty thorough. /shrug Good thing about the black tho is it's so easy to touch up after a ride and have her looking new again. BtW, I did finally replace the blue DG nerfs with a set of black Pro Armors. Looks a lot better. Also went with a set of ATV High bend bars witch have made a nice improvement in comfort and control for my 6'2" frame.
  4. I used to run Castrol back in the day but run Klotz Super Techniplate now. 40:1 and can't beat the smell! Ahhh... that castor 2 stroke smell without the castor bean gum. Can't beat it.
  5. Well, sort of, kind of, but no, not really. When we bought the new house last year, I built a full insulated and finished wall with a door splitting the 2 car garage in half, front to back. Made an 11'x19.5' 4th bedroom out of the back half and 8.5' x 19.5' bike garage out of the front half. Still am able to completely open the garage door, just no auto opener. Enough room for my 05 R6, 98 Smokin Joe CBR 600, 2000 Sabre 1100 and the Shee and lawn mower with my work bench but it's FULL LOL. Once the boys are a little older and moved out, I will take the wall down and have more room for more bikes!!!
  6. Hey Scott, been over two weeks since I sent payment for the seat and nerfs. Sent a pm yesterday and see you have been on today, why no reply? Did you get them shipped out?
  7. Well at first I was a little disappointed in it. Just fartin around there really isn't much difference than stock except it sits higher, which I like since I am a6'2". However the more I rode, i found that it got a LOT better, the harder I pushed it, the better it responded. Whoops and high speed damping, were a major difference and well worth the improvement. Course I have the 01 raptor front shocks on too and they make a good cheap upgrade combination. $87 shipped for front and back suspension upgrades, So can't comment on what just the rear shock alone would be like with stock fronts. I haven't even dialed it in yet, as I wanted to see where I needed to go with the settings from the way it came to me. Overall, I am pretty happy with it and would definitely recommend the change as a low buck alternative to aftermarket shocks or complete overhaul of stock shock. Of all the things I have done the bike, this was best money spent for the return of investment.
  8. Like a dumbass, I didn't trust the seller to know what they had since they had been wrong before and I bought a set of rear wheels n paddles. Turns out the bolt patter is 4x156 for the 89-90 only banshee. I didn't give much for them but not sure I can move them so looking into how cheaply I could get a set of rear hubs with studs of that size and still use them. Anyone got a set collecting dust or holding down papers?
  9. Well, I have never been one that is too proud to admit when I am wrong and I was wrong about the rear paddles/wheels. They do appear to be off an 89-90 model. As for the other transactions, I still do not believe banshees ever came stock with steel front wheels and can find no reference to them ever having them on the net either and of course not real happy with the front wheel transaction but I openly admit they were not at fault on the rear set. Some times folks just have bad luck with a seller and every one does make mistakes, myself included. I will extend a partial apology to Inland ATV and make a correction here to my statement as apparently they aren't the only morons, I just proved that I can be one too
  10. Well after what seemed to be the third messup, when it had been three weeks and I still had not gotten my front wheels or any shipping info, i called them and they tried to tell me they had shipped them. I had to prove to them that what they thought was my front wheels was in fact my rear wheels with paddles. They said give them a few minutes to see what was going on and they would call me back. No call back, no email ...nothing, until I check my ebay and paypal the next day to find my money refunded with a note. "Sorry..these never shipped to you." Wow, you don't say? Was pretty fed up by then. Figured by the time I paid to ship the stuff back, I am out almost as much as I paid for them in the first place so will just try resell locally after I figure out what they really go on. I am glad they have done well for others. I think I will stay clear tho. Not sure who I talked to, some lady who was talking a guy in the background who was getting pretty pissy about the whole deal, guess he didn't think I could hear him. Maybe I will try calling them again this week. (By slow shipping I mean 12-20 days. On the two orders I actually got, I bought 2-3 things the same day and got all of the other stuff 3-5 earlier. Even got an order from japan faster LOL. I have seen slower but out of the 30 items or so I bought of ebay during this rebuild, they were the slowest.)
  11. Great feeling when the bug bites you hard again isn't it? I was planning to go this last weekend but had to postpone it. Went to Eufaula dam and really enjoyed it. Very cool place to ride for a day. So did it rain on ya? Weather looked like it was going to be a really wet weekend out there.
  12. Good to know about the axle nut, lot cheaper to tighten it down than replace the carrier Plugs looked perfect as far as jetting goes, will pop in a new set and do plug cut this week and make sure tho.
  13. Had a great ride Sat and she is running really well but now I am fighting some wear issues from a 10 year old quad. I had two things creep up on this ride. 1st - It developed a popping-clicking sound coming from the rear end. I thought maybe it was the chain slipping at first, just had that sound and only did it when going low speed under a heavy throttle load up hill climbs and then while doing donuts or very sharp heavy throttle turns. Thing is I have brand new, high quality chain and sprockets, no busted teeth, was a touch more slack than ideal but not too bad and it made the noise even after adjusting the chain. I think it may be coming from the axle/carrier. I noticed that the axle nuts had loosened a bit and I didn't have any thing but channel locks to tighten them down again which seemed to help a bit. The carrier has new bearings in it but my nephew who i got her from said they have always had problems with it keeping the axle aligned, it tends to creep forward a bit over time on the drive chain side which loosens the chain and puts a touch of bind in it. He thought the bearings would take care of it but I think maybe the carrier itself is worn out. What do you all think? Could it just be the axle nuts causing all the problem or will a worn out carrier do that? 2nd - my steering stem seems tweaked. By the end of the day my bars were a good inch off turned to the right and they are new bars and I didn't roll it or hit anything it's not the bars themselves. With a stem being a solid piece like that, I didn't think it could turn and tweak like that. Rained all day yesterday so haven't gotten anything torn down yet to check it out but does that seem odd? Sidenote.. The more I ride this thing, the more I notice it is the most vibratin sucker I have ever thrown a leg over. Vibrated a spark plug right out of the cool head again after I had tightened it down so much I was almost afraid of snapping it off. BTW - The 'new' 01 Raptor shocks were a definite improvement. Still going to go YFZ front end eventually but well, well worth the time and money The harder I pushed them, the better they worked and havent even really dialed them in yet. Definitely a recommended cheap upgrade.
  14. In very good shape. Bought them from a member on here and have gone on a couple of rides with them but I found a set with black nets so putting these up for sale. Still need to take them off of quad but can get them out by Tuesday in the mail. $75.00 shipped to lower 48. Paypal accepted or Money orders.
  15. Bought a front wheel that was supposed to be for a banshee, turned out to be a blaster wheel, bought a set of rear wheels with sand skate 2's on them, again for a banshee. The bolt pattern is over 6"! Maybe for a Polaris?? but not even close to banshee pattern. The entire hubs firt through the center holes of the wheels! Bought a set of stock front rims with stock tires and they lost my order and never shipped them. Refunded my money but I think they just didn't want to send them because I won the auction for almost nothing. Will never order from them again as they are slow to ship and do not even know what they are selling. Buyer be warned!!
  16. dibs on Seat and nerfs to 74066- Pm a total please
  17. I have a bit of the same thing going on. Put on a set of Raptor shocks on the front, no grinding or anything needed and the 'driver' side is fine but the 'passenger' side looks like a LOT of neg camber. leans in towards the shock at the top of the wheel a good inch and half to two inches. Shock isn't frozen and seems to respond well just bouncing the front end. It was fine before I started so I don't think I have a bent spindle, rim or anything. I am thinking ball joint on that side is either shot or needs adjusting? I dunno, never messed with ball joints before.
  18. I put an 01 Raptor rear shock on mine a couple nights ago. Only took about an hour start to finish and it is a noticeable difference in how it feels just sittin on it. Havent got to ride it yet tho, going out for a full day tomorrow. Pretty cheap way to go. Paid 42 bucks for the shock including shipping.
  19. Well i had a little sahara trip planned for this weekend but it has fallen through for half the crew. So going to postpone it for a couple weeks. I have been out to Appalachia bay and plan to do some googlin for spots as well but looking for some first hand recommendations on riding spots with a good mix of trails and some more open areas within say 100 miles of tulsa for a good full day of riding. Camping spots to go the night before would be a bonus.
  20. Don't see an edit button but I would also consider a trade for just the nets from someone out of town. Shouldn't cost us but about 5 bucks to ship through post office to each other.
  21. Have a nice set of DG Aluminum Alloy Nerf bars with blue nets. Good shape, nets do not show any wear at all. Looking to trade straight up for equivalent value nerfs with black nets. Some where around Tulsa, or between tulsa and little sahara, heading there this month and could make trade on the way out.
