Just a question bout two different motors...

Just a question bout two different motors...
ryansedy replied to ryansedy's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Im saying that these two motors are jetted perfectly, or say these two motors have there highest h.p. rating with these jets... Now since there jetted perfectly, wouldnt the engine requiring more fuel make more h.p.?? or can an engine requiring less fuel make more h.p.?? than the one requiring more fuel... -
Say you have two different motors, and the only thing that is the same is the cc, or whatever for instance...and lets say these two motors are each jetted PERFECTLY, with same size carbs... say one of the engines has 170 mains, and 58 pilots the other engine has 160 mains and 50 pilots can and engine with smaller mains and pilots make more h.p. than the engine with larger jets????

Float adjustment on 38mm keihin how? and height?
ryansedy replied to ryansedy's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
i have the 8" k&n style air filters no box or anything... I put in 55 pilots this morning and now it wont idle without the choke for about the first two minutes...so i think im gettin pretty close on the pilots.. I also put in 170 mains havnt got to ride it yet ill try to tommorow tho... its just weird cause when i went from 175 to 180 mains, it seemed like it pulled harder....but ill try going smaller... my bike was dynoed at 100hp...well thats what the guy tells me anyways that i bought the motor from...to bad he cant rememeber the jet sizes with that dyno... -

you have stock drag ported cylinders? -
happened to me too, one side of the bike wasnt smoking as much as the other side kindof missing....bought new plugs went to change em and that one side had unscrewed completely...tighted em with plyers, and still did it....so i put a really small amount of lock tight, on the very bottom of the threads so it wouldnt mess with the electrical connection...they havent done it since...

also lt1bird.....i kept turning in my idle screws, but it wouldnt idle...there almost turned in all the way...i had to adjust the cable up at the thumb throttle...is yours like that?? i did sinc em together, not with the vaccuum gauge but looking at the slides making sure they go up at the same time... -
Wouldnt opening the throttle let more fuel in, both through your main and pilot? How does it lean it out? or are you talking just the first kick? im sure you know alot more than i do thats why im asking... I have the same carbs on my 421 cub, and last i rode with 58 pilots and 180 main...starts with first kick usually, and dont have to use the choke, but its also around 70 deg right now, im sure that when it hits 40 deg thats gotta make a big difference right? tommorow im gonna try 56 pilots, and 185 mains, when i went from 175 mains to 180 it seems to pull harder, and longer, also rev faster....
