  1. Well I'm bringing myself up to speed very quickly on the exciting world of banshees, and trying to figure out everything that has been done, both good and bad, to mine. It's had the tors removed, and the idle screws drilled and tapped, but they appear not to lift the slides high enough, even when screwed in all the way to make it idle. It looks like the previous owner was using the cable adjusters on the top to raise the slides and make it idle. the screws and lock nuts I have look identical to the ones in all the kits. Can I trim the bosses down to allow the screw to reach further in? you can see where the screws contact the cut away on the slides, and all the way in they only contact the upper 1/2. Thanks Mike
  2. So I had the clutch cover off to check out why my kickstarter was acting up, and found it was missing the small spring clip that kicks the gear out and engages, that's an easy fix. So I took the clutch out as well, decided to replace it as its worn below spec in the manual. But I noticed that there is some play between the basket and the large gear it is mounted to behind, you can rotate the basket slightly before it rotates the gear, the manual says replace if there is any play, but just wondering what real world experience is, if it will be ok, or if it will come flying apart soon Mike
  3. Hey Guys, Anyone know where to pick these up? Both rocky mountain and dennis kirk are out of stock on these, checked ebay, and no one has any for stock carbs. Just looking for some suggestions. Thanks Mike
  4. Just wondering what everyones favorite place to order OEM parts online is? I've ordered stuff from Service Honda before, for my Honda's, just never for Yamaha. Their prices for Honda stuff was always well bellow my local dealer, even with shipping in, just not sure how they compare when it comes to Yamahas. thanks Mike

  6. Which springs can I cut down, the one's in the carb slides? And if so how much? I haven't riddden it for long enough, but last time down at the dunes, riding a friends yfz450, my thumb got super sore super quick, tried another friends 450 with the longer one, and it was way better! thanks Mike
  7. Hi Guys, Totall banshee newbie here! Just picked up a 2001 shee for a great price. It's had some mods done to it, the typical bolt on stuff like pipes, reeds, etc. I think it has the longer thumb throttle lever but am not sure. If not I will get one. What I am wondering is how long is the stock one? Will have more questions the further I dig into it thanks Mike
