  1. Woodrow nailed it. Here is the thing (and I'm the same size as you) as big as you are and the power your used too, you will not have any fun on the 125 especially if your in the woods or doing any kind of climbing. You can be fast on a 125, but it takes years of riding one to do so. I've owned them all. The 250F will have the torque for you to have fun on and you will love the usable power it has. As far as reliability, the fours are more reliable until they get wore out then they are expensive and timeconsuming to work on (alot more moving parts in one). You can do a topend on the 125 in about an hour, but will take about four times that on a thumper. But it all boils down to money. If you going to keep them of course you will want to mod them a little, It costs ALOT more to mod a 4 stroke than a 2. A great bike for trails and beating on is the KDX 200. Most reliable 2 stroke ever made with the perfect amount of power, and they made them for years so you can get them cheap!!! As far as the 500 zingers guys, There is a reason they stopped mass producing them and it wasn't cause people weren't buying them. You can only go so fast on them though because you can't get them to hook up or keep the front wheel on the ground. The 450F is actually a rideable bike with power you can use. You can be faster on the 450F unless you have balls the size of a car.
  2. So I booked the transport on my new Shee. It should be here in about 3 days. Anyone want to try and guess the mods on it? Can't wait to take her for a spin.
  3. Pretty sure it's around 1100' Does elevation affect compression? I never knew that
  4. Do you have any idea what compression should be on a stocker? The previous said that it has been bored out for whatever that's worth? I'm starting to think I might just take the top end down if nothing else and just re-ring it. At lest that way i will be able to inspect the heads and jugs to know if anything has been done to it for real. Thanks
  5. I just received a quote of $500 for shipping. I'm about to book it (my wife is going to kill me) I won't be able to sleep until that thing gets here if I don't though. Do you guys think the jetting is going to be all off with the climate change from TN humidty vs. AZ dry climate?
  6. I don't even have it in my poessesion yet and i can't stop checking out online info on it. What I can't figure out is some of these youtube videos I'm watching of guys racing shees vs 450's, is that most of these 450 are either beating them or staying right with em. The 450 I rode was quick, but I feel my cr250 was alot faster than the CRF 450 I rode. I rode my friends Shee years ago and havn't rode enything that made me tear up like that thing did. I still get a smile on my face thinking back to that first ride on one.
  7. Hy everyone new to the site, but loving it. So i got my first Shee and am really excited, but don't know that much about it. Heres what I do know: 1999 Yamaha Banshee with T5 Tommey pipes. I traded an older truck of mine site unseen. I was told that it has had a lot done to it. It is at my parents and have only seen pictures of it so far. I'm trying to arrange freight for it. It's killing me I really want to ride it. It's at my parents house in TN and I now live in Phoenix. As soon as I get this I will be looking for people in AZ to do some riding with? Anyone?? Anything I should look for. Anyway to tell if it's had good mods vs. bad mods performed. He said it has been bored, but from my past dirtbike/snowmobile experience that can mean cylinder damage. from the pictures on my phone I can see it has after market nerf bars, front bumper, and rims. I was asking 2K for my truck I feel like I got a pretty good deal, What do you guys think. Since I was 13 I always wanted one of these just always had bikes instead. Now I'm 33 and as excited as I was 20 years ago about it. From all the searching I've done, it looks like everyone is getting away from Shees and getting thumpers. That sucks. So do Shees still rule or are they getting their asses handed to em now by all these new bikes coming out. I rode a CRF450 quad a while back and wasn't that impressed. Any thought or words guys?
