This is the bike i'm getting close to beating. Just need a better start and i think i'll have him. Honda TRX 450 ER8 (2008) Complete built August 2008 I have put the very best components available in this Quad It was built with the intention to race the 2009 season . It is a Top built quad, based on current American Pro build, but tuned to run on 98 ULP , it does everything right . I feel with the right rider it is capable of winning any race in any MX class in Australia. The cost to replace this quad is over $30 000 . It has only done a total of 10 hours . To replace the PEP suspension,Arms,Swing arm...would cost over $8500. I will give the new owner ongoing support via ATV NRG if required . Will consider offers over $15,000 as below Front: PEP PB1 ZPS Long travel with fully adjustable Ride height, crossover springs, compression and rebound damping adjusters Rear: PEP ZPS Dual Rate springs Long travel with fully adjustable Ride Height, Crossover springs, compression and rebound damping adjusters A Arms: JB Racing long travel with fully adjustable Camber and Caster steering geometry with Honda TRX 450 R 2005 steering knuckles and hubs (05 set up Allows Quicker and more precise steering than 06-08 set up due to closer steering pivot inclination to wheel centre ) . Rear End: JB Racing Plus 0.5

Not sure what the clutch is called. But when you go to a stand still you can be in first gear and not have the clutch in - nearly like an auto except manual gear change. Remember these bikes were professional race bikes bought second hand. There is about $30,000 worth of suspension, bike and engine work. I assume most of it suspension... it is awesome to ride... dont feel a bump. I change my filter from uni to K&N. Was going to get a port and polish done from a local guy but a couple of other people dont recommend him because hes not a pro port and polisher. Most people recommend sending the head to the US and getting done properly.

anyone heard if 2010 coming out yet? Getting later in the year... they must of made their mind up by now..
-
I have filter. They're stage IV trinitys and vf3. How do you change the timing
-
couple of guys I ride with bought second hand race honda with all the works. Shocks, pistons, cams, exhaust, computer, filter etc. I ride a banshee with pipes and reeds. I want to beat them, what do I need to do? I have beat one of them with a heavy rider but was beaten by about 4 bike lengths with light rider. Another I can come close to and the third I have not raced but apparently he is the fastest. One has a clutchless bike too. I run a sand ghecko, but wondering if I should run those tyres that come with standard Honda?

fuel for banshee (low mods)
aust_banshee replied to aust_banshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Not sure what the compression is. I assume its standard? All i did was put filter, reeds, jets and pipes. What about aviation fuel. Being doing a bit of research and most people say no..? -
Im only running regular fuel in my banshee, sometimes i'll run a premium. Is it wise to add octane into a premium fuel? Will it run better/ Is it better for the engine? Thanks.

I have a slow leak coming from underneath the transmission case (the left side). I had a look under the bike and it looks like the seal is loose or something or buldging out? Does the case just need to tightened? It's a new bike with 10 or more hrs use
-
No, but we could work something out.

2009 banshee - 2 months old - Stage 4 trinity pipes - vforce3 reeds - sand geckos - uni filter Immaculate condition. Probably the last model of the banshee. $8700AUD (5700USD) Will freight anywhere in the world.
-
Gets too dirty with the lid off.
-
Does anyone know if Yamaha will continue to make the banshee after 2009? Also anyone know if they will make a Special edition banshee for 2009?
-
Got the new trinity Stage IV and Vforce3's. Taking her out on the weekend...
-
Ok, I have a uni filter on the bike but with the snorkel and box lid still on. Still running stock jets. I am in the process of installing the VF3's and the trinity pipes - just waiting on the jets to come through - they were posted seperately, should be getting them today. So i am not sure on what they will give me. Altitude is at sea level - as its on a huge beach (stockton beach NSW)
-
I have a set of trinity stage IV's and VF3's. They give you jets with the pipes I'm just wondering will this be enough? Or will i need bigger jets as i am running the Vf3's as well? * also are the trinity pipes a top end pipe or mid pipe? Just using bike solely for dunning. Thanks,

We all raced again. A banshee with DMC and vf3 and paddles raped everything in the first 100m even a highly modified honda trx450. Banshee rider was 110kg and a novice. Though it lacked a lot of top end, i even raced him on a stock banshee with geckos and eventually caught it top end. LTR went slightly better with the dunlop tyres, enough to beat the YFZ 450 - but the stock banshee had 2 loses and 1 win against it. 2 random LTRs showed up - one lost to the stock banshee 2 x and the other had paddles and beat the stock banshee. The sand geckos were in my price range. I still want to do sliding and what not and they were a million times better then the stock banshee tyre on sand. The geckos get me up the steepest of dunes. I dont want to be spending 200 a tyre.
-
The ltr is east to ride in a straight line you can't do too much wrong. Banshee on the other hand takes time to learn when to change gears.
-
banshee had sand gekos and a filter. Ltr had sand trackers and the mods listed above. Close races, some would claim draws but banshee overall seemed faster and the mark and in top end. I raced this same bike with a completely stock banshee running stock tyres and lost by many bike lengths. He had the same mods except he wasn't running paddles he had a good set of Dunlop tyres. Also he has previously raced a modded 04 yfz and a stock one and beaten them both with his dunlop.
-
Couple of races at the dunes today: LTR450 (pipes, computer, sproket, filter, paddles) VS YZF450 stock YZF450 smoked it in every race. LTR450 (as above) VS Banshee (paddles only) My banshee blue him away every race by about a bike length. Banshee VS 660R Banshee wins. Banshee VS YZF 450 Banshee loses by about a bike length. A standard YZF 450 is fast.. LTR450 was saying that if he didnt have paddles he'd win... dont know if theres any truth in it.
-
Probably right, Banshee - T5s, K&N, vforce reeds and bald mud tyres LTR 450 - Very good pipes, computer, good sproket set up, filter 2 runs - they both beat each other. Pretty close.
-
stock banshee gets beaten by about every stock 450.

stock banshee vs modded LTR450 vs stock Yfz 450
aust_banshee replied to aust_banshee's topic in Drag Forum
I raced the YZF 450 today... Munched him off the line in 1st and 2nd. But ended up getting beaten by about 3 bike lengths. I have stage 4 trinitys coming on Monday and should get the reeds soon after that. I think I should be able to beat him by 3 bike lengths after that... -
surely if they put some money into the engine they could fix the emissions and make it more powerful. Stick the engine into a yzf 450 frame with banshee plastics. Potentially you could have a lighter and faster then the 450's. Or at least put in the same scale as the 450
