  2. deceided to put rear cut fullbores on it here she iss all done FINAL PICS!!! i dont think ill paint it this year. it will just get scratched up when i ride so this is how its going to be for a bit.
  3. well i know this may sound weird and i dont know many of you . but does anyone have a place to sleep? i can my quad there but if i can hitch a ride for me and my shee. ill gladly pay . ill buy your weekend pass , bring beer and throw you some money for the hassle. i live right off the 60 freeway and valley way. i just am dying to ride my quad in the sand.

  6. well first pull on the dyno with the 170's it made 88 hp , we found the throttle cable not opening all the way so replaced it with one that did and continued to make near the same hp , which was about 87-88 with the 175 jets. i wanted to leave it a bit rich since we ride at places with lower elevation than where its at now. its just geared too high for me now, i will be changing to something a bit lower for sure. it was pulling to 100mph on the dyno in 4th gear. i was hoping for 90 since the first pull was 88 with the carbs not all the way open but it did get a bit hotter and the engine was being hot lapped.
  7. im trying to plan a trip but no one wants to go with me . if i can find someone that wants to go im going , just dont have my own hauler to stay in . but id like to meet up with some of the hq guys . and run the bike for the first time. i cant wait to let the guys dynoing the bike see it , they are going to shit themselves , ill be they ask who made the subframe first. tomorrow ill have a thread with numbers.
  8. i agree , i used to ride in the dirt and now it will never see anythign but sand. tomorrow im taking it to get dynoed. any guess?? 4 mil cub , with drag/dune port by hjr 21cc domes shearer sbif pipes 39mm pwks on gas( 110 ) also just installed a rdz chain tensioner and it took some grinding to the spacer where the spring sits to get the roller under the chain. i also agree i may get some slick tires to roam the streets with since dirt is a thing of the past. for the swinger check out slc quadcustoms on ebay. they made it quite fast. i did not do the flames, a friend of mine did them . he is the best real flame painter imo . he won a huge contest that mike lavalee ( the o.g. real flame painter) had and won first place. check out his site. www.patrickguyton.com

  10. dont know who that was directed at but fwiw i made 720/750 @ 11 psi w 100 shot @ the tires on a mustang with the front driveshaft removed ( about 25% drivetrain loss) with the 370 motor and vortech setup.
  11. havent seen this one yet so ill throw mine in there. someone also just called me and said its in this months street trucks magazine( not a big article though) it will be soon though , truckin has already taken some photos but mods are getting put in lsx 427 7.0 tea trickflow 235 cc 6 bolt heads diamond custom coated pistons callies dragonslayer forged 4.00 crank lunati pro billet i beam connecting rods( 6.125 ) morel lifters yella terra ultralite rockers comp custom ground cam ( 236/230 6xx/6xx 114 lsa) ( motor will be finished by the end of the month) then its gettin twin gt 35 turbos with a big ass a2w i/c goal is 1xxx awhp through a 4l80 . here it is currently with a fully built 370 motor and a vortech t trim pushing 15 psi and a 125 shot of juice ( i actually caught this guy in the end) lots of mods to it , only thing stock is the frame.
  12. and the gearing is 17/38 with an aluminum rear and steel front , we will see how i like this . i know the top end should be a blast.
  13. very good way to do it , only thing is it does creat small air bubbles in the master and they take time to float to the top and pop . i did the redneck way this weekend , fill the master, and attach a hose and suck on it until most of the air comes out and just bleed from there. but the way above is how i always bench bleed masters .
  14. ill just say ive passed quaduple digits on the pice but doing alot of the wok myself help keep it lower. mods are wicked +2+1 a arms (chromed) jj&a play axle (polished) arched ladder swing arm +6 (chromed) hjr 4 mil cub motor with 1-5 dunable override and lock up clutch (polished) noss head w 4 mil 21cc domers 39mm pwk kiehn carbs(polished) works triple rate front shocks(powdercoated/polished) racetech rear shock (powdercoated/polished) custom rear subframe by stellar(chromed) shearer in frame pipes(chrome) 22x11x8 10 paddle bead to beads tires cascade seat cover fullbore 09 front end trail techs and alot of billet b.s. also got alot of little billet stuff/new oem parts i had the entire frame and other little things( calipers, steering stem , springs ) powder coated candy red with a chrome base coat which just came back today and its gorgeous for red . The swingarm ,a arms, sub frame and a few other parts were all chromed since they were chromoly steel. the entire engine/carbs/axle misc parts were polished. now i need some opinions on leave it or run a race cut rear full bore? and possibly paint it with red real fire im just scared of doing that since it may get messed up
  15. just got done polishing and zoop sealing the polished parts. im still breaking this thing in so i have not gone w.o.t. in yet i plan to cruise it once a day around the block and then take it to the dyno as soon as i can ( hoping saturday) and see what it puts down( should be 90-100 hp on 110) here are the completed pics( minus the new chain tensioner which is on the way)
  16. well got it fired up and smokn today . bled all the brakes . all i have to do now is get it aligned and throw the new chain on it and it should be ready to ride . thats tomorrows plan at least.
  17. dam id like to buy the wheels and hubs but i doubt youd want to sell them huh? or possibly trade for polished jj & a 4 bolt rears and brand new blue label 8x8's.

  19. i was thinking the same thing , just not sure yet. im interested in the jj and a 3 spoke wheels/hubs so that is an option but an expensive one. ive got a few other things im trying to finish as well and i know i wont make it out for another glamis trip this year so this quad wont see sand until late 09.

  21. got some stuff today. asv levers , cdi relo bracket etc. just need to find some clear fuel line. hopefully get it fired up this weekend with the 170 jets to let it idle and break in. sucks i have to use these ugly as dirt tires.
  22. im using the boss plate not because i got a jj and a carrier with their plate and it would work so im using the boss plate with jj and carrier and an slc swinger , it uses the 1/2 boss instead of the 15mm one jj and a recomends. Its not alot of slop but enough to shake your head and seems like it would hog out a hole. just dont like things like this on my stuff.
