I seen a guy at a race with a 350 esr powervalve 250r and he was running some sort of Rear sand/dirt tire studded up in rows. I wish I would have paid more attention to what kind they were. Thicker paddles with more tread surface face. He was running up front throwing a roost all they way down the straight.

Loved it.... I was still spinning on the start just a little but I am not double studded. But EWW WEE She was hooking up sweet once I was on the gas. I have never won a heat race before. Im hooked for life. This track was one that was always turning and that -2 swingarm made her feel like I was going straight.. Thanks again for the help

My ama number is 88 but all the store had was fours. So I just add the front number plate and the side together. Im afraid to change numbers now. I raced today won my heat. Should have won the main but the 2nd or so lap she started to cough a little and I lost my powerband. I limped to a 4th place finish in the open studded Main. I have no clue what went wrong. I did post a Viddy on you tubeof the race. Some guy flips his quad behind me I had no clue till I seen the video. check it out Im the only shee.

Here is my set up for a 1/2 mile oval. 3 inch stud spacers front and rear 3.5 lower front R6 rear shock stock position on lowering rear lowering kit (the r6 shock lowers it pretty far) durablue sway bar stock front shocks stock a arms 15/40 gearing 32.5 pilot 300 main .20 over +8 adjusted timing rocky baumler port work fabiracated pipes toomy silencers cool head 19cc domes v force 3 kn pod 826 shen chin with 1 inch Kold kutters -2 swing arm (just done this week)

Here is the finished set up for the national ice races. The problem is I am not sure if I am going to be able to practice before Sat race. I will be able to take a couple hot laps on the 1/2 mile track. I am lowered 3 inches in the front and I have a lowering kit in the back in the stock position with a r6 shock. I have 3 inch spacers in front and back. ( i am thinking about taking the spacers off the back) this is my concern -2 swingarm 15/40 gearing Sway bar Any thoughts on the set up thanks for the help

Michigan thaw this is BS... Well we are 50 degrees here. So racing was cancelled last weekend and this weekend im sure is going to be cancelled. I have slowed my roll a bit. Almost done cutting a stock swingarm -2. I am going to put it on Friday. We are suppose to get back to winter Thursday They have a man made track for the natilonals no word yet on conditions. I am ready to get back out there. How is your season going? moto

Damn Canada I thought I was serious. Thats a great deal. I just started shortening my swingarm -2 today..

I am faster than those four pokes just trying to get my shee to hook. They beat me off the line then I play makeup all race. I did get that guy by the time the checkerd flag dropped for first in the heat. Ended up 5th out of 20..

I want to shorten my stock swing arm down -2 . Has anyone ever cut one. what mods are needed once its cut? a pic would be great. Thanx

A Sway bar is the next best thing I did for myself after getting the studding down. I run 1 inchers in with no liners then I fine tune the screw for the best bite and self cleaning. They will leak a bit in time . I run the Michigan ama series and have never thrown a stud yet. I keep air on hand but dont need it much. Blow the tires up to about 20lbs when you studding them up, when your done let the air out this will tighten things up a bit. I have found ice riding is an art form just trying to get your shee hook.

I have my 40t ready to go. I also bought a stock swing arm to hack up today. Do you have to change the shock linkage when you shorten the swing arm? Has any one ever cut a stock swingger? Im not sure where to cut . I am going to have to take it to a local welder{ he is good} to have it ready by next SAT natlionals I would like to test once. I am thinking -2 on the swingger. I have until next weekend. ( the races this sun were canceleed due to rain). Riding the ice is addictive....Michigan weather sucks

Thanks for everones help. I will use the tricks. I am running 15 front 41 rear gearing. It is lowered in the front and i have 2 nothces on the lowering kit in the back where i can go lower. The questions I have are. Does the r6 rear shock bolt right on or do you have to fab it. Also with the swing arm any one have a shortend one for sale or any one ever cut a stock one. The natilnoals are in 2 weeks so i have time!!!

I race ice, and im getting beat off the line then I pick em off one by one. I will tell you my set up and what is happening. My 250r hooks up great out of the hole and im running the same tires and kold kutters as the shee. When the light turns grean I launch in 2nd gear and all I do is spin (1st is worse). I have stock swing arm loweing kit in front and back and a swaybar I have suspension tightend all the way up. I do have room to go lower on the back. Once im up to speed im hooked up great. But off the line I just spin and spin. Has anyone had this problem or any suggestions or tricks?...............thanks

I blew her up at the first race last Sunday... I tore her down Monday and rebuilt it had her . Here she is today.turn 2

87 they are stamped "pulse charger" a friend of mine made them a few years back. They make good power on the ice ice roundy round. They were sitting around for awile and rusted up. Once I cleaned them up and ran it they blued a bit. moto

What did you ride before the shee?

I have been working on my quads for a bit now. I finally got them on the ice so I snapped a couple of pics. I have been checking everone's posts out and " I thank you" for the insperdo during my build.. as you can see by the pic I left it cosmeticaly alone. I run two classes, open on the shee and the R against the 450's. Here are my mods. Lowered front and rear/ dura blue sway bar/ three inch wheel spacers front and rear/V force 3z/cool head 19cc domes/ single k&N/port work by Rocky Baumler/pulse charger prototype pipes/toomey silencers/32.5 pilot/300 main in the winter/needle in third position/ cheng shin 826 with kold kutters/ Ill let you know how i do............
