  1. I had the same question. I am new to the Banshee world and really enjoying it. This Thanksgiving will be my first trip ever to the dunes. My question is about sand tires. Which sand tires are the best to get to push the shee around? Best for griping and quick takeoff's best number of paddels etc.? Banshee is getting a 4mil & 4 inch swing arm right now and the jugs are already bored out as much as they can be which makes the shee fast already.
  2. Sounds like FUN! Not sure about having a woody myself though LOL Maybe seeing a few :woot: would be ok
  3. While mine is apart the jugs had to be looked at and it looks like a piece of plug at one time before we owned the banshee came off and bounced around in there. It left a little bit of damage to things are going to have to be bored out and changed. Left a nasty groove on one piston as well inside the housing part and the head of it has all kinds of ding marks.
  4. Did you count one down for first then 5 up and forget the one down = 6 :yelrotflmao: I know someone who did that once, not naming names either
  5. Yeah have some shopping to do before going. I hate shopping but have to get a few things, whip(flag) for all our bikes, lights for night rides and I need to get a brain bucket (aka helmet). Need to rent or barrow a toy hauler too. I hate spending $$$
  6. Unable to modify this so I am posting a reply, I meant to put we are going to Gordons Well. Not Desert wells, that is a place we have rode at over here, sorry for the mess up.
  7. Going to the dunes this Thanksgiving, this will be my first trip ever. Have only seen pictures, videos and heard stories. We are going for the riding as well as people watching LOL I hear Glamis is just wild during Thanksgiving! My friend said he will proably take us over to Desert Wells area just cause it is a little more "kid" friendly he calls it. Although we will be going to Glamis to watch folks. Sounds like a fun trip and I am really excited to go. Need to find rules and regulations etc for going to, if anyone has a good site to get information that would be great post here. Anyone else going? How about anyone from Arizona heading over there for Turkey Day?
  8. After getting the case split yesterday come to find out it is a stock engine but the jugs have had work and that was why it was faster then my friends. My friend has been riding for years and has two Banshees one strait stock and then one with work done and pretty fast. Then when we were looking at getting mine he drove it and it shocked him to on how fast she was. Well since now it is all apart looks like a 4mm, and 4 inch swing arm will be going in as well. I still want my ride to be reliable as well as able to do simple trail rides to hang with our slower riders in the group. My question to is how much improvement in speed will this do to the banshee? What should I expect the change to be? Again she is very fast and has a powerband that can toss someone if they don't know what they are doing or used to it. It is very easy to get the front end up without trying. I am now used to this so the banshee is fast but not overly fast anymore, just because I am used to it, not that I don't still hang on LOL We are now needing to get the lower end caught up to what has been modified to the top end. Now I need to find some plastics to make it look better. Hard to believe how expensive plastics are. Been trying to find a good deal but haven't came across any. Not wanting any girl colors either LOL oh and not a fan of red. Anyone have any good places to look let me know. Thanks
  9. For the cost of tools and etc. to do it ourselves would be more costly. And as for one who is just getting into these rides I would rather have a pro do the fixin then a rookie. Found the leak, clutch side crank main bearing. We all saw a crack then while looking at it the guy at the shop rubbed his finger across it saying here is the problem, look at this crack then began to whip junk from it and it just feel apart right there! Even with it going to be costly useing a shop at least there was no running the banshee again to try to figure out what was wrong and end up tossing a bearing threw the motor. There is already a bike there that had that very same deal happen and he is looking into a new motor, bearing just tore it up. So to this story there is a little bit of good news to bad not to the pocket book.
  10. If you do end up tinting them I would at least have a spear lens on hand when riding. You might not intend on being out at night but sometimes it happens and especially when you are not the one who is broke down. Already had one happen. I don't know how much light is taken away from the tint but just to be safe. It is not too cool riding in the dark with no headlights. I had to do this once, a friend was behind in his truck that was already loaded with a broken down Banshee and come to find out that his Banshee that I was riding, headlights were not working. Ended up they were just unplugged but still made it for an interesting ride. Real interesting cause where we were there was still people out riding and cows. Nothing like riding up on a stubborn cow in the dark who wants to play chicken.
  11. CASINO, you find out anything about what is wrong with your Shee? I am having the very same issue and was wondering what you might have found out.
  12. Anyone got an extra 1.21 GIGAWATTS setting around might be able to get my Banshee going again with it. Maybe even cheaper then what the shop is going to run to split the case on my shee. :verymad:
  13. Well it for sure feels like it did, can't hit 88 miles an hour, Doc!
  14. On my bike the fluid is clear no white anything. As for temp, it wasn't ran less then 5 minutes and it did this. Bike runs a little over 190 in temp. Do need a new cage on it the needle is not setting all the way down when at rest.
  15. Just took my 02 Banshee down to the shop for the VERY same reason. Happened last Sunday changed a few seals as told by a shop then tried to run her one more time to see if that worked nope oil came out of those hoses again. Will not hit power band after 2nd gear and oil just pouring out of the two hoses. Getting the compression check, seals etc. Not sure what is wrong sounds like it will be a pretty penny to fix. But worth not blowing a motor and going to take our very first trip to Clamis in Oct. You find out what it is post I will be checking for answers to this.

  19. Hi, new to this thread and saw a post here on power band. Figured I would post a question here on this thread as well and not start another thread on power bands. Took my Banshee out Sunday and the power band is not kicking in like it should. Can get it in first and second gear but after that not kicking in. We ran her today around the neighborhood and still only 1st & 2nd. Any suggestions?
