  1. Looks like it could be out of the rear brake reservoir. I know some quads have a rubber sheeting in there but usually its solid and is more like a loose diagram. edit- maybe not.. just reread that its about the size of a quarter.
  2. That is really the sweetest looking thing I've ever seen. I would definitely get rid of the stickers and maybe have some custom ones made since it really is your creation. We really want to see some pics and vid! Good job!!
  3. I ended up getting a set of BKT's that look much similar to Holeshots and Razrs except they were alot less expensive. One of the guys that races around here said they've worked great for him and he placed really well last year with them.
  4. I don't really want to put that much money into it at this point. There has to be enough options to choose from. I don't think I want a 22.. thats pretty big. It would also take away from the power too.
  5. I ride pretty much everywhere, old RR grades, fields, woods and anywhere else that my Shee will take me. I need a good tire that will hook up good and be pretty durable. I have heard Turf Tamers hook up great but they shake pretty bad at high speeds ( I max out quite a bit with 15-41 gearing) I have also heard the Holeshots give a bit of spin and the lugs are too far apart. Haven't heard to much about the Razr's So I'd like your input - BTW my rims are 20-11-10's Turf Tamer Holeshot - (which ones too) Razr - (which ones too) Or another you think would be good Thanks
  6. Just as a friendly tip. If do you still have the boost bottle on your son's banshee. If you do, take it off. Just about everyone here will be able to tell you they don't do much but break/crack the intake boots. 2 Years without posting... wow!
  7. Thats who my auto insurance is through. Auto is still joint with my parents for a better rate and I don't know if they would want the 'Shee on there too! I checked with Geico and for some messed up reason they don't cover in Michigan and 4 or 5 other states. I got a quote with Progressive and it was about $107 for the first year with them. I talked to someone yesterday that has their banshee with them and are paying about $70/year full coverage. Thanks for all the help.
  8. I am going to get insurance for my banshee and was wondering if anyone has it and what company to go with? Is there different types like no fault, liability, full coverage? I am kinda clueless about this stuff but know I am going to get some. Thanks
  9. Will it shift between 5-6 or is it just stuck in one? I had my eccentric adjuster break of and keep it from shifting properly. there was also enough play between my sidecover that the shift shaft popped out of the star and reengaged it funny to cause the same thing (stuck in 5/6). Either way you'll have to pull the sidecover.
  10. I'd check your mains. The clutch is on the right side of the bike when sitting on it (or by the brake). Did you get an aftermarket impeller? I've seen aftermarket impellers that cause the impeller gear to break because they have so much pressure on them.
  11. Here they are
  12. I just got done installing the tires and they hook up great. Wheelying isn't a problem either. I tested them in a parking lot where it is all really hard pack snow and solid ice. I didn't have any problems with the tires hooking up on ice and it actually dug some pretty good trenches. I'll try to get pics sometime.
  13. I am sick of not being able to ride when the ground snow on it and is frozen so I am taking an old set of bald tires and putting studs in them. For the studs I am using 5/16"x1" carriage bolts with washers on both sides of the tire and a double nut. I have a V pattern laid out (7 in a V) and a total of 8 V's I could run another 8 V's but wanted to see what it does first. I am going to be putting a tube inside the tire so it doesn't leak. I've hear about people using snowmobile studs and was wondering if anyone here has done anything like this before?
  14. Ditto that. The TM design works bolts on really slick and offers the protection behind the sprocket as well. They said it could handle up to a 15, which it does. I upped my 'shee to a 15 last fall and it fits. The clearance is really close but it makes it in there. Bought mine from Rockymountainatv Linky (I tried to link the actual item but it failed. Just search it - the pic is a stock one and looks like a billet but it says in the description that its plastic. You may be able to find one on ebay or something too.
  15. My banshee was tuned in earlier this year for about 60 deg. F. I would like to still be able to ride it now when there is a little snow/ just plain cold out. How many sizes would you jump for 10-20 deg riding? Here are my mods. FMF fatty golds FMF powercore 2 silencers UNI pod filters w/ outerwears Head shaved .070 domes recut Bored .050 over I think it may have some porting but not sure what it is (previous owner's doing) No I don't have the TORS I was running 310 mains and 25 pilots. Thanks
  16. Another way would be to run the gas tank dry, tip it on its side with that plug up. I think it would still spit out and ^^^^ method would be easier.
  17. I put a +4 key in mine. From my understanding the key is used to align the flywheel during installation. The taper and the torque of the nut are actually what holds the flywheel during operation. The only way that the key should break is if the flywheel nut isn't tight enough ( or something else major happens).
  18. Took it apart yesterday and found out that there was enough room for my shifter shaft to slide a little to the right and so it was not engaging the shift star. Apparently it re-engaged the shift star funny and was jammed. nothing looked worn but apparently there was enough room for it to slide so I made a nylon cap to fit over the stud in the side cover. Now there is no slop and I haven't had a problem yet.
  19. I bought mine from a guy that was running twist. I didn't really mind it but found it hard to control wheelies. My brother also almost ran into a tree with it. He goosed it and when the front came up he froze, just hung on and never twisted it back. He ended up going through a ditch and splitting right between two big trees. After that I switched back for safety sake.
  20. No it isn't. I just replaced and readjusted the adjuster stud less than a tank of gas ago. It was working fine until now. Any other recommendations? I just hope I don't have to get into the gears/split the case.
  21. You said you swapped L/R carbs? I would check to make sure they are in the right spot and the choke tube is in place. They are specific to each side. The left side should have the choke control and the slide inside the carb should have two slots in the top. The right side doesn't have a choke control but will have a choke tube from the left carb. The slide inside should only have one notch in it. I would also check your reeds (make sure they are closing). Are the plug colors the same? Does it sound like its firing? If they aren't the same color, check your carb boots too. Hope that helps.
  22. I am having a similar problem this morning. I was out bustin around and couldn't get it any lower than 5 but could shift 5-6 just fine. I managed to get it back home, and with 10 min of playing with it managed to find neutral. Would you guys say I have a similar problem with the shift shaft. FYI - I recently replaced the broken eccentric adjuster stud and readjusted it, haven't had any problems, but now I am having this problem.
  23. Are you running with the TORS or do you have an eliminator kit?
  24. I have done a top end rebuild/boring and shaved the head .070 since that ride. There was about .010-.011" clearance between pistons/cylinder before. (BTW-I was running in pb most of the time) I have not really tested my mpg since the rebuild so it may be better now. I will have to do another ride and check it. Thanks guys. You are always a big help when it comes to this stuff. What do you think I should be able to expect?
  25. I am looking mainly for banshee mpg, but if am interested in others (just label what you ride).
