OK, swapped carbs this evening from left to right and right to left just to make sure that was not a carb issue, took off down road and sure enough it does again but didnt seem as bad but left cylinder was cutting in and out like it wasnt getting fire but it was the left again that shut down. This issue is really bothering me I cant figure it out. I always heard when CDI goes it goes not partially out but completly. Like i said earlier in this post everything tested good. So could this be my CDI Box now? PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks for info, and yes put new plug wires and caps and plugs is still having same problem. This really getting agravating now and Im gonna step away from it for a few days and i then ill get back to it. Thanks

Yes changed plugs and swaped plug wires, and it wad still left side so i figure that rules out the coil. I kinda thought it might be float but wasnt for sure and yes took carb apart and cleaned everything and it still done it after cleaning. Could my float level be off?

Ok guys finally got everthing tested. Used a ELECTRO MATE DIGITAL MULTIMETER(is this ok to use?). Everything tested good besides coil. Could the coil be my problem after all, This is what it does, I can ride it for about 5-10 mins and the left cylinder will shut down like it isnt getting spark or fuel(dont know which one it is) but if I shut it down for a few minutes it will start back up with no problems untill about 5-10 mins later it does it all over again. TESTING RESULTS STATOR Yellow to Black=00.6 Red to Green=17.2 WhiteRed to WhiteGreen=00.0 with coil unplugged 117.9 with coil plugged in COIL Primary=00.5 Secondary= Doesnt even read ( But why will banshee start and run if this part is bad? ANY INFO WILL GREATLY BE APPRECIATED.

I believe that my stator is my prolem on my shee so now im looking for a (stock)stator that is in working condition. The flywheel is just for me to have one to take to work and have it shaved and balanced. Thanks Again.

OK guys, checked everything out and all looks good cleaned carbs, inside stator area looks good, reeds look good, reed cage gaskets look good, air filter cleaned (but i did not check float clearence could that be my issue) I changed my needle position from the 3rd notch to the 2nd and seemed to be a little better all around so i went down road and the damn thing done to me again so i set there for 3-5 mins and it fired right back up (both cylinders) and took off back home and about 300 feet away from the house it done it to me again. Oh yea 120lbs psi in each cylinder. WHAT THE HELL COULD THIS BE?

No Tors. Everything looks good.

Ok guys i hope i have put this in the right forum if not sorry, but here is my problem. Went out yesterday morning and going to ride banshee into work. So started it up and set there and idled just fine for about 5 to 10 mins and then took off down road just cruisin about 30 to 40 mph and all of a suuden the left cylinder shut down (pipe got cold) so i kinda figured it maybe the that (shitty) rickystator coil so i swapped plug wires and fired it back up (started fine, on both cylinders again) and took off. About 300 to 400 feet down the road the left cylinder shut down again so that told me that the (shitty) ricystator coil actually wasnt the problem.(temperture outside was around 50 degree) Shee had not done this in the past in warm weather except for in cold cold weather and always did it in cold weather so i didnt worry about it and didntridein the cold.tinking it might be fouled plug (now about 80 degree oustide) but that wasnt it either it done it to me again. So my conclusin is I need some help with this issue would this be a carb problem or something else. All info welcome and THANKS

Hand made or bought and modified it counts cause you are puttin your own look and preference to the work. GOOD JOB EVERYBODY

I checked all three including the one on the 89 banshee its also the same, but one thing i do know is the one that i am running on my 92 did come from RICKYSTATOR(uuh shouldnt have said anything now it will screw up for sure) and he wires come out of it also i think i put that pic of that one up earlier.
-
Damn man that sucks you gatta pay $140 for a part and then you have to fab parts so that part will work, that company should be sending the relocation bracket with it for that price.
-
I still have some stock boots. but will the 8mm wires be okay?
-
How much does a Nology coil usually cost?
-
Jw years of shee's that didn't have key ignition..

Mine is a 92 and mine did not have a key the wiring went direcly into the switch on the handle bars. But i did end up splicing a key switch in. HOPE ITS NOT STOLEN -
Yea i would count that, good job  never thought about doing that to my wifes blaster.
-
No i dont think i would even try anything like that with some plug wires, lol not that redneckish

sorry guys having bad enough day as is  , Im no no idiot and on a stocker all you have to do is unscrew he wires out of it bu you have to leave the litle plastic clips out and the 8mm wires will screw right back down into the coil.
-
100% positive this is a stock coil.
-
I had some old coils layin around that are good and some 8mm plug wires from street rod build and wanted to see if they would fit in the coil and they did. I guess my question is will the 8mm plug wires do any damage to my motor? Has anyone else done this? Just want different color of plug wires.

wittle350 replied to wacko2000's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Check your pilot air screw. It might be OUT to far or IN to far. Mine did the same thing to me what your explaing and thats what it sounds like to me and thats what ended up being on mine, just my .2cents -
 good one I think a really good set of reeds would do wonders, but might want to ask around to find out what would best suit you. I run Boysen Power reeds
