  4. I'd go for pro flow adapter with a k&n filter with a outerwear run it with no lid on the air box it should rev higher and quicker. rejet if u put on full exhaust.
  5. I was wondering what is the best way to go with a suspension upgrade . I see alot of people doing the yfz conversion but is better then a good set aftermarket bolt on's??

  7. First thing i do is wash the motor real good so no dirt ends up inside ,mine had a small hold down bracket u unbolt from the case. U will also have to remove clutch cover and loosen clutch springs and ajustment rod and ball bearing and then push spring off and should slide out.
  8. Is oil still leaking out front sprocket seal? how about when pulled clutch cover off any metal chunks in the case or oil ,did old oil smell burnt? Did u check clutch ajustment before putting clutch cover back on?
  9. can u roll it with the clutch in gear? sounds like u should adjust the clutch. Also how dose the oil look and smell?

I have a banshee and a z400 the z is great in the trails and handles better than the banshee ,and don't beat u up as much.On a track i could probably do faster times on z cause of handling,but straight aways forget about it banshee eats the z up like nothing. I would go for the z if i was u its way better then a 400ex.
  13. No metal chunks that i could feel rubbing the oil in my fingers or see . The drain plug i wiped with my finger and was gray. I think it had about maybe 5 hours on it before oil change.But last ride i had a kid on a 250r that thought he could beat me he was wrong.Three straight drags three straight wins he is 0 -6 vs the original 1987 banshee also beat up on a 660 raptor 1985 atc 250r 1984 atc 250 tecate all in the same race . I think my oil issue is clutch wear i hope!! it look like metal flake .Also last ride no noises or problems ran great. Thanks for info everybody that replied.
  14. I just changed my oil and it looks like there aluminium chips like metallic paint in the oil.On second oil change of new clutch.Tusk clutch with heavy springs.

  17. I tryed +2 and ran good on pump gas with a little octane booster . i`m going leave it there it ran good,and i beat a 250r 3 times straight with no problem. thank again for all the info.
  18. what is a good aftermarket shock to replace the stock shock on a stock banshee?
  19. thank again for info, its been below freezing all week up in MA, so i have not gone riding. next time i will try +2 and let you know how it ran.
  20. thanks for info, i have not had a chance to do a compression test yet.but it runs good at zero and i probly should leave it unlone before i break something.
  21. I run 93 octane,im at about 300 above sea level,and not sure about compression.Use maxum 927 two stroke oil.
  22. I have 87 banshee .015 off the head rad vavle toomy pipes k&n filter no lid on box 3/8 reed spacer boost bottle stock carbs 270 main jet run 32.1 pump gas ricky stator adjustable timing plate set at zero what could i do with timing to get a little more power ?

    front shocks

    What is the best front shocks for a stock banshee with stock a arms? Also has anybody had a shock get stuck down?

  25. I have 87 banshee . I just rebuilt everything frame j arm to a arm newer rear axle carrier.I owned the quad for 13 years ,and had a lot of fun riping up my town. i took it apart about 3 years ago because of blown crank seal. I bought gasket kit, seal kit,had crank welded and trude. I had head milled .015(15 thousands), a new top end boyesen rad valve, boost bottle 3/8 reed spacer, new intake boots, K & N air filter in box w/ cover off. TORS eliminator kit stock carbs w/ 280 main jet toomy exhaust stock electrical system. starts right up idles but breaks up at full throttle and boggs threw mid range but if you ride it for a while it will start runing good but if shut it off and restart it it will bogg and break up again.i have changed main jet from 270-330 but i think it runs best at 280. i checked spark and i have spark but i am not sure if strong as it should be . i have a xr 70r and it get a brighter spark then the banshee. dose anybody have any ideas what it could be? my stator dose not look very pretty but it tested ok .cdi? carbs? flywheel magnet weak maybe? can anybody help so i get back out in the woods and show all the newer quad riders out there who the king of the hill is !!! help banshee riders of the world !!!! :ermm:
