Try take some more pics, but from a bit further away so that the camera can focus properly. Or see if your camera has a macro setting for closeups. (There is sometimes a flower on the setting button for this.)
It a bit hard to see what is going on up at the top of the intake.

preignition is detonation... or spark knock... same with diesieling when trying to turn off an engine...

I dont think new piston and rings will solve anything. The uneven running is most likely a problem with the carbs.
What does the smoke smell like. You may just be running rich on 1 side, it could be a coolant/tranny oil leak.

Yup that is detonation. Causes: lean condition, too much timing, to low of octane fuel and or excessive engine heat (beyond normal).

That is not from detonation, but preignition probably caused by an air leak. What does the other side piston and plug look like?

No it will not hurt your motor, but using fancy coolants will hurt your wallet.

125 at sea level for a stock motor. readings much higher than that are probably from an inaccurate guage
Below 90 to 100 is time for a rebuild, or if there is a big difference between sides.
If both sides are 110 you are good for a while yet.

What does ported to 65 mean?
Are you running pods or airbox with/without lid and what is your elevation?
I would say that on a ported motor with an open airbox close to sealevel you are lean on the main jet.

What you need to do is check your compression ratio, im runnin 19cc domes with .44 squish 180psi, and 10.2:1 compression. Think about it.... Stock banshee is 8.2-8.5:1 and requires 90+ oct. I would run 100 or more. Im running 110 because idk where to get 100 at the moment.
My 2 cents spent....
A stock Banshee is 6.5:1 according to Yamaha, and will run on regular 87 with no problems.

There are 2 rubbers and an aluminum spacer that go with each silencer. I think the only place to get them would be FMF.

The Banshee motor is the same from 87 to 2010. It has not changed, so banshee pipes will fit any year.

Warm them up with a heat gun. The goo will come off with the sticker. Just dont make them too hot.

No, if you take the fuel petcock off the tank you will see that there is a filter in there. It gets blocked fairly easily.
I would loose the inline filter as they often cause problems even if they look clean and flow well when you test them.
Are you sure that you are jetted right.

Check the filter in the petcock is clean and that the breather in the cap is not blocked.
Either of those will screw with the fuel flow.

Pilot jets may be too small or clogged. take em out so you can look through them and check they are clean.
Also check that the tube is on between the carbs and that the slides are in the correct way - cutout facing the air filter.

Look at the pictures, there are no TORS. You can see the carb cap in the second pic.
Try going bigger on the main, and get the clutch together so you can do plug chops to check jetting.
