  1. Thanks man, thats what I wanted to hear. I just had the cyls sent out and they had to go .080" over to get them clean. I've got new o-rings and studs for the cool head to replace the mismatched crap so i'm ready to get her together. I think compressions going to be the least of my problems with the new cyls .080 over, some sort of mx port job, and the 18cc domes. I think i'm looking at too much compression for what I want. Thanks again, great info! james
  2. Thanks for the coil info! Sorry about the terrets, I just started taking my medicine....where the hell did I leave that Guinness anyway??? The head gasket I pulled out of the motor looks like the thin stamped steel one that came with my Wiseco gasket set. Nothing fancy, just a crappy thin little pressed steel gasket with raised parts around the cylinder and the fuckin water ports. Sorry, I really need to find that Guinness......
  3. So heres the deal. I bought this basket case shee last summer to "save" money. Bullshit! So anyway, she's all painted up and going back together. Besides missing half the fuckin parts, the engine that was supposed to be solid had a fucked cylinder. So I rip the engine apart and as i'm pulling the head off I notice the head gasket still in there. Now, i'm no fuckin genius and have no experience with cool head but i'm pretty sure that the head gasket shouldnt be there. So here's where I need help. The guy I bought this thing from was a "racer". I mean, he had trophies up the ass all over the garage but what the fuck does that mean anyway, not that he knows how to put his shit together but I would hope to god that he would. So heres the questions that I cant find answers to anywhere. Do I put the head gasket in under the cool head. I hope fuckin not, it just seems wrong. Wouldnt that defeat the whole fuckin purpose of being able to swap domes with all the pretty fuckin o-rings sealing her up? And does the coil have to be hooked up a specific way, orange on any specific terminal and black on another or does it not matter? I'll be back with more stupid questions as the build progresses. There are some good parts on the motor and I definitely need tuning help when the time comes....
  4. Nice pup! I've got a Cane Corso/Neopolitan Mastiff and she is the best dog. She's the runt of the litter and only 90lbs so she's a small Mastiff but she can be nasty and she's extremely protective. Mastiffs are a great breed, good luck! And they do eat like crazy! Mine once ate a 5lb tray of sausage and peppers that we left out on the counter overnight for a lunch the next day! Not a spec of food to be found and a nice clean tray....
  5. Lets try this again on this piece of shit laptop..... I was just up in Saugerties today, well, actually Centerville I think. I had a job off of Kate Yeager rd which is off of Blue Mtn rd or CR55 and there were a pile of guys riding through that whole area. I spoke to the customer and he said that there are tons of trails through there. Now I need to get permission to ride there once my bike back together and we'll be set.
  6. The trails in Liberty are pretty good. You can go from pretty dense woods riding to wide open fields and I heard that one guy has a small mx style track on his property. I've only basically walked most of the trails because they cut through my property but I see the local kids riding all the time and you can see alot of the trailheads from the road. I bought my bike last year and have been putting it together slowly as time and money allow for parts so I havent ridden on any of the trails yet.
  7. I live in Liberty but i'm still in the building phase. Need to send my jugs out to get bored then a few little odds and ends and some tuning and i'll be ready to go. Where do you ride in Saugerties? I used to go ride the snowmobile trails behind Cortina Valley. I actually broke my ass going full throttle up one of the slopes in the summer when I hit a huge ass rock that was hidden in the 4ft tall grass. Good times! There are quite a few trails here in Liberty. Maybe we can get together when I get my bike back together. james
  8. For anyone interested that lives in the Mid state NY area or eastern PA. I just recieved a little flyer from Collar City auctions about a Bank Ordered auction at NAC'S racing in Saugerties. Not sure what happened since I just bought some parts in there a few months back, but everything in the place is up for auction including office supplies, some really nice machinery and all parts. You can check out the auction site www.collarcityauctions.com for more info The auction is being held Sat May 3rd, which is this freakin Sat. It starts at 10:00am. The only problem for me is that they require a Bank Letter from your bank saying that your not broke! Hope somebody can capitalize on this, they have some nice stuff in there.
  9. I've got a Greydon 2 into 1 setup and it didnt come with an air filter. Does anyone know of a filter number that will fit the Keihin PWK carb thats on it. The carb opening is about 2.25" and i'm pretty sure the carb is a 35mm. thanks
  10. Thanks for the input guys! Dinner, I bought the bike from an old racer who used to run an mx style circuit around PA. I really have no idea what the compression might be and that was actually going to be my next post to see if I need to go to a larger cc dome to avoid running race gas. I cant seem to track down any shops the carve "Krank It" into there jugs either to find out what kind of port work was done.... Snopcynski, I'll get that window measured and report back. The cyls are at the shop sitting in the sandblast cabinet right now. james
  11. Hey all, I'm new here and hoping to get some help. I bought a basket case banshee last fall and have basically finished assembling it accept for a few parts including the exhaust that I dont even have yet and dont even know which exhaust would be right for the engine and dont just want to shoot for T5's. So heres what i've got. The top end is freshly bored .020 over stock and is ported by "Krank It", I dont know who that is but its etched into the jugs! Its got a cool head with 18degree domes, v-force reeds and valves, and a Graydon 2 into 1 intake with a 35mm keihin carb. I dont know the jetting but will probably need help with that down the road. I'll be mainly open trail riding, no racing, nothing like that, and I live in mid-state NY way up in the mountains. I'd appreciate any help! james
