hey man, are you the guy who posted a pic at e2s with a custom fox grill? let me know. i want one! thanks man. hurry up and get that shee done and head down my way and ride..
  2. ok I have a shifting problem too. I went out today trail riding and i could get 1,2,3 no prob but 4 if i held in the clutch and let it idle down. 5&6 no way no how. Any idea's anyone? where to start looking first?
  3. will the heal gaurds and pegs fit an 89?
  4. I just put a set of those on my banshee the day before. the shifter side (L) was easy, the rear brake side ® was a little trouble. there is a small tab on the lower chassis that hits the bottom of the header. I had to totally remove the exhaust hanger and carefully wiggle and walk it into place to aviod the little bracket on the bottom. I never noticed any hoses rubbing the headers, but I'll check. when I put the rear silencers on, that was a bitch. the actuall bends on the headers are off a bit. The instructions say to leave everything loose but I had to tighten the headers so they wouldn't move to slide the rears on. the left side wasn't bad but again the right side sucked. I had to get it started by hand first then grab my small rubber hammer and tap the silencer outlet to get it to slide into place. then when it was easy when it started to go into place . about 1/4 to 1/2 way is where it didn't want to go on. after that mark, it was easy. I don't know why, but that was my experience.
  5. sweet! thanks again everyone. But who has nos parts? ( new old stock) not N2o parts..hehe edit: or atleast carry original parts still availible for 89's online? getting to tghe local yami dealer in my area isn't easy.. work is overloaded for me right now.. too many hours and gonna get worse next week..
  6. yea me neither, i NEVER used chain wax. a little bit of RK-O Ring lube Once a year. anyone ever stick thier finger in diesle or kerosene ? it leaves an oily residue on you doesn't it. well it does the same thing on your chain.
  7. ok, cool! thanks , so rocky mountain and fast are some of the favorites.. THANK YOU FELLOW SHEE OWNERS !! I'll probibly build a stroker later toward the winter side of things. If I can't in no way keep up with my brother's 03 shee 407 stroker, then I might start shopping sooner than i think.. right now i'm mostly looking for nos parts for my 89 and some fancy do dads...
  8. ok, YES i've used the search function. It didn't come up with anything relivant, either. Although one post about someone who will never drink coca cola again, or get bit by an african spider on his bum was funny as hell, I still couldn't find any posts about the " hot spots" to shop at for banshee parts.. any help out there?
  9. On my street bikes i had, I always soaked them in kerosene and scrub them with a bristle brush. diesle would work too. It never hurt the chain and I used VERY little lube. My old GSX-R 750 has alot more power than a shee does.
  10. i know this thread is old but I guess the guy never got his frame? what's this clowns full name? and about where he lives? he said ky but thats it.. any town? It would make it easier but a full name might work. I'm real good at finding information.. ahh, an IP addy would work too. what was his IP?
  11. my friends and I would use that adjustible powerband joke on newbie's back in the 80's !! people still fall for that?
  12. we fab just about anything, really. industrial spec. stair cases, hand rails, saftey guarding, and heavy construction equipment like backhoe buckets, bob cat buckets, dorsey dump trailers, industial manufacturing machines, dollies , carts, so basically just about anything. which is nice cause it's always something different. Hopefully me and the boss are gonna go get tested for round pipe for live gas lines. big money in that, but a little dangerous.. we've got cnc plasma's, hand plasma's , iron workers, mills, lathes, 100k presses, the usuall stuff. we do snow plow installations and repairs along with hydrolic repairs. sometimes we do fancy stair cases in 304, 316, or 6061... it just depends..
  13. thanks for the welcome banshee girl  well i guess i'm the newbie around here. It's been a while since my last riding days.. last dirt toy I had was a CR 80 Elsinore.. yea those old things.. these new bikes fly compaired to the stuff i grew up with.. man you younger guys are lucky!!
  14. I'm a professional fabricator myself. i run a manual jackson, mainly cause a nice one would still get tore up just as fast... auto's are nice for tigwork, but most of my job stuff is heavy construction... 1/4 is thin for our shop. i do mostly mig and arc, (tig i do at home for side work). i like the precision line from lincoln for heli arc and lincoln and hobart for mig/arc and carbon arc/plasma
  15. thanks for the link. do you need to have any special stickers in Pa ? Here in Ma. you get a yellow licence plate. anyother info people should know about? TIA..
  16. instead of a million " hi I'm new" posts I'll just hi jack this one and add myself to the newb list.. no pics till this weekend, so sorry guys/gals.. ps.. my brother's got a 03 shee i believe? might be off on the year but his is blue and has a 407 stroker kit in it. the thing moves! so I gotta get him to sign up too..
