  1. i figured more people would look if i offed to pay em. offer still stands too. i'm so pissed at this thing right now i can't even look at without wanting to throw it!!!!
  2. yeah, now my damn crank is binding. new thread here..... http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...=95098&st=0 i never thought i'd have this much trouble. i'm ready to pay someone to finish this thing just to save my sanity.
  3. i did notice a tight spot when i fist set the top on it but didn't think anything of it. it's not too tight but it is in one spot only. without the top it's fine. BTW what does TTIWWOP mean?
  4. i got the crank off of kiel (aka theshee) so i'm pretty sure it's a stocker. she starts getting hard to turn as soon as i torque em to 7.5 ft-lbs. once i get to 18 ft-lbs on the case nuts i can't turn it period. i even mic'ed the bearings and they are the same diameter as the old ones so i don't think that is my problem.
  5. ok, new update. double checked the pins and seals.... they're in correctly. got pissed off and decided to try the old crank and it spins fine with the new seal installed and the cases torqued together. so i'm guessing there is a problem with the crank i bought from kiel? what could possibly be wrong with the new crank? putting the old one back in is a no-go as the rod bearings are junk? BTW these are both oem cranks. TIA
  6. i'm 99% sure the pins were right. i'll have to double check tommorow when i go to work. i've never had this much trouble with a motor before. i mean dammit i rebuilt my 454 and she fired right up with no issues but i can't get a damn 2-stroke together. figures
  7. well, i'm sure they're sitting in the lower case correctly. i made sure the ridge on the seal sat in the groove in the case. i followed the clmer manual to a tee.
  8. my previous problem was that i couldn't get the case halves together. turns out the studs were hitting the bench under it. it's a stock crank and i cleaned out the cases to the point where you could eat off them. i was following the torque pattern in the manual. it's when you torque the nuts to 18 ft-lbs that the crank binds up. i'm starting to get so frustrated with this rebuild. i'm just about ready to pay someone to rebuild this damn thing for me to save my sanity.
  9. well, now that my case problems have been fixed i now have a new problem (shocker!!!!) when i'm torqueing the case halves together the crank locks up. i've double checked the seals, bearing pins, and still have no idea what the hell i'm doing wrong. please help me!!!!
  10. i now have a new problem. now the crank binds when i torque the case halves together. i checked the seal lips, the bearing tits and the snap rings for the bearings. no clue to why she is binding. please help!!!!
  11. i just picked it up yesterday and i love it!!! my only gripe is how the cars handle. maybe i need to find something better but so far the handling sucks.
  12. thanks lee. this site has saved my tons of time running around asking dumb questions. now i can do it all from the comfort of my pc!!! lol!!!
  13. that's pretty cool!!!
