  1. I have one of those Chinese radiators and it seems to be good, no problems yet.
  2. Thats a good possibility. I tried to make a video but the sound just didnt come through.
  3. Thanks for the reply. It sounds like a setup that I would like to try. I cant spare the cash right now but if you still have them in a couple weeks I'll get ahold of you. Will those pistons work with a long rod?
  4. Yes thats what mine is doing. The noise on mine does not go away when I pull in the clutch.
  5. This post was started before my pubes turned gray. You new guys need to look at the dates on these.
  6. I cant tell where its coming from and this is at idle, its not the flywheel because I did replace it. Its just a fucking bad sound. The only other thing that is very noticeable is that when I am riding and let off to coast It sounds like the tranny is making a hell of a lot of noise too weather the clutch is pulled or not.
  7. I'm really not familiar with twisters, how does this compare to a cub or a dm of comparable size? I know you say its an aggressive dune port so I assume port timings are originally somewhat low on these. What are its advantages?
  8. Are there any signs to pre crank bearing failure? Do they make a noise or anything? I have never had one go bad on me but my engine seems to be making a strange sound. I'm going to try to take a vid of it tomorrow and see if the sound comes through.
  9. Correction on my last post, mine is a 6 over not a 4. So yes, a +8 might not be bad.
  10. They vary so much you cant go by what you read. Actual dome cc, porting, elevation, squish, base gasket thickness, condition of your reeds, carbon buildup on your pistons, etc. There is all kinds of variables to consider.
  11. Ok, I'll get it all for you soon.
  12. You can get lighter springs for your PJ's. I think Jeff at F.A.S.T sells them. I also have PJ's on one of mine and I know exactly how you feel.
  13. It's good, I run it in my kids z250 and she over revs the hell out of it all the time.
  14. Gain some weight and sit on the tank. Seriously I dont think I'd want anything bigger than a +6 unless I was only dragging. I have a +4 and my front comes up on a stock cylinder bike so on a cub I suppose it would be a pain in the ass.
  15. Ok Snop, I'll have you do it. I'll get my port timings and specs rounded up and let you know. Thanks.
  16. I ride a dirt bike a bit but hated the twist that I have on one of my quads. I'm getting used to it now but still prefer the thumb. When I climb steep stuff I really use the handlebars to hang on and position myself and with a twist it just isn't possible.
  17. That would be ok I guess. We have a Land and Sea crank dyno at work I could put it on just to pull some numbers to see when it's coming on and give someone my engine specs. Maybe that would work too? I dont know.
  18. I need someone to write me a custom curve for my Dyna. Let me know who's closest to me as I assume I need to put it on the dyno.
  19. They run hot. I see you have a cool head, that will help. I also run engine ice or water wetter in the coolant and a aftermarket impeller. An oversized radiator helps tons but the main thing is to keep air flowing through the radiator, dont just putt around. I dont know what the ideal temp to try to keep them at is but I say keep your coolant cool and your pipes hot. Do you think yours is getting too hot?
  20. I'm also new to the overrides, If your not drag racing all the time and you actually want to ride is it ok to clutch and downshift if you make sure you rev match it when letting out the clutch? That wouldnt be putting any backload on it if your timing was right.
  21. I been watching you for a while on there, pretty good stuff Kevin !
  22. Thats right, technically its one impact. It would get very spendy if you followed that recommendation but many little crashes weaken one enough that it wouldnt do its job on a big crash. Thats just the chance you take i guess. The main thing is your helmet worked and you still have your teeth.
  23. I guess you probably would.
