Well long story short, I bought this banshee about 2 months ago. I have been riding it every couple days just about 15 minutes or so each time. When I first bought it, it was not leaking at all. It seems the longer it sits then it will start leaking gas/oil. Just the other day it started spitting gas/oil out the exhaust, and it seemed to smoke a lot more. Also I noticed one side and more exhaust pressure comming out than the other. I have alot of time on my hands so I thought what the hell and tore down the top end. Every thing looks good to me, but what do I know this is my first time doing this. I have a few pictures of some things but they are crappy pictures sorry.
The cylinders look real good to me, there is no deep scratching or anything. I tried to get a picture but it turned out to bad to see anything.
I took the carbs off and they just seem messed up. They are missing all of the screws it looks like to me. I left all the tubing on, Yes they are really cruddy, I haven't cleaned them up yet. Only tubing on them was the vent hoses and one tube connecting both of them. Would a bad needle cause gas to leak in when it is sitting in my garage if the gas is left on?
I guess what I am getting at is what should I do. I would like to keep it a cheap fix. I suppose I could of started slower, and changed out the plugs, checked compression, and rebuilt the carbs maybe, but wheres the fun in that. Should I do a complete rebuild or just buy a gasket set and put it back together. If you want any more pictures for clarification let me know.
