  1. Did not do one. I just find it funny that after I wiped down the reeds it started. Do you think since I turned them over they might just be hard opening and being stuck with the fluid. I guess I could just order some new reed valves they are cheap.
  2. Top end
  3. I have stock reeds on my banshee. I just had it all torn down replaced gaskets and rebuild carbs. I had some small gaps in my reeds so I turned them over and the gaps where gone. Now I had it running the other day ran real good. Let it sit over night tried to go out riding and it would not start. I took the carbs and reeds off. I cleaned off the reeds and some gas and oil in the flap cleaned it out with some air dried it off. Went to start it and it started good and ran fine. Same problem now it wont start. After a few kicks it almost turns over and then nothing. I can kick it for hours. So I take it i need some new reeds.
  4. What kind of gaskets did you use on your rebuild. I had the same problem I used some cheaper gaskets and not the OEM ones and I was getting some coolant leaking into the left cylinder, replaced it and it ran fine after.
  5. Yes they need to be synced to open at the same time. You can play with the adjustments to make them go up at the same time.
  6. Yeah I drilled the holes and taped them on the correct sides. I just cant figure out why this smuck I bought it from would have 2 right slides. Is there any numbering or anything on the stock carbs so I can confirm that's what I do have so I get the right size slide? I looked it over and only saw a few numbers and letters but nothing really that I noticed?
  7. There is no dots on these slides. They both fit the right in the right carb with the moon shape towards the air filter. But neither will fit in the right without the moon shape towards the engine. So some how somebody maybe replaced one and got the wrong one. Guess I will need to order a slide. Any idea where to get one the yamaha dealer wants like almost 90 bucks for one.
  8. Might be over looking something easy. But I just did a TORS removal and I drilled and tap the hole for the idle screw. As I am putting it back together I cant get both of the slides facing the right way. Its like I have 2 right carb slides. I cant switch them because then the small grove one line up with the notch, and then the beveled side is not facing the air filter. So I guess my question is are the slides supposed to be the same or is there a right and a left. No idea how I have 2 of the same if thats the case.
  9. Yeah there was to much air in them, when I had them mounted the guy put to much in. I run them at 4 psi.
  10. Yeah I hammered it down flat. Good idea though I will go get some from Yamaha.
  11. I cant seem to get that bolt off I sprayed it with some lube, used a 32mm socket on it, put it in gear and put the rear tires so they wont move. Seems to be on there so tight. I assume it is regular threaded. I guess I will have to wait until I get free and bring it into work and use an impact gun unless anybody has any tips?
  12. I am about 40 minutes west of Chicago.
  13. It has no lid. the jets were low I put them to a 260 main it was a 200 some how I swapped the jets when i rebuilt the carb I guess Stupid move haha. But now it seems to run great. Just waiting for my TORS delete to come in. I pulled the plugs after a short ride they were kind of black/tan. Could that be from my carb slides being way off since I havent synced them.
  14. Thanks alot man.
  15. Well to start off I have 15/41 gearing right now and I like it how it is. My chain is real worn out and so are the sprockets. I have been looking around and there a few different sprockets and chains. What are some good solid sprockets to use? Also how about a chain would you go x ring, o ring or what? Should I just order the same amount of links for the new chain or how do you do that I have never put a chain on. Thanks alot
  16. Here is mine with my new HDs
  17. Forgot to add I live in illinois so no big elevation here. And I think it has a 260 main
  18. Finally got my banshee running again. I have fmf fattys, k&n filter and that is all. I think the jet is 25. I have messed with the air pilot screw and got it pretty close. It idles fine and pulls good in first and second. But if I am in 3rd gear and pin the throttle it seems like it bogs down. I have a TORS eliminator kit coming not sure if that will help out or not once I get the carbs synced good. Just curious what jets I should be running.
  19. It is the left clyinder If your sitting on it looking forward. I guess I'll call the local yamaha dealer tommarrow and see if I can get the gaskets and a new coolant plug. One other thing when I re drained the coolant, from the drain plugs on the side of the cylinder it was just dribbling out alittle bit. But when I took off the bypass hose on the top of the head it was really pressuriesd and was spraying out from there, is that normal?
  20. Another bump if somebody could point me in the right direction so I can get them ordered.
  21. Yep I used the cheapo gasket set, haha, guess I'll have to get the better kind. I could you show me where to get the factory gaskets at I cant seem to find any. Also how about the coolant plug I looked at a few sponsors but no luck.
  22. I have been having problems wtih my banshee only running on one cylinder. It was blowing white exhaust out of the cylinder not running. Took the head off and the left cylinder. The base basket was a little wet. I think the coolant plug on the exhaust side could be leaking maybe?? I also noticed that there was like small slimy white chunks stuck on the lower end what could that be. But I really didn't notice any coolant anywhere except on the base gasket which is only a few days old. Any help on what to do. Thanks again.
  23. Just swapped the plug wires still the same thing. I seem to be seeing alot of white smoke out of the left side so does that mean coolant is leaking into that cylinder and causing it.
  24. I pulled the plugs after I had it running and the cylinder that was not running the spark plug was wet so I assume its getting fuel. Do not have the tors eliminator.
  25. Well I was bored during the winter months and I had just bought this banshee owner had no idea about what was done to it ect. The carbs needed rebuild so I started opening it up to see what bore and pistons ect. I put it back together the other day cylinders, pistons, reeds everything looked good. Went to start it up fired right up first kick. Warm exhaust coming out of the right cylinder and cold out of the other. Has a good spark on both sides, and a good even compression on each cylinder. What gives?
