  1. That's it. I wouldn't say killed but depending on the launch, I was beating groups of 20-30 quads. It was good close racing. I was just excited to keep up and win.
  2. I was talking to another guy on here and he bought all new aftermarket for his yfz and he only spent $700 for it all.

  5. Just wondering if anyone on here had some yfz suspension laying around that they want to sell. After riding across the open flats at the dunes, I know that I need some different suspension. I heard that it will all fit with slight modification.
  6. Went to Little Sahara in Oklahoma with the modded shee. Rode some trails for a while then started drag racing. I found out pretty quickly that I need to rejet from the 300s I put in. I went to 320s and it runs like a top and plugs looked great too. Went back out and watched some racing for a while. All that was out there was a wide variety of new 450s with pipes filters and rejetted. If I got a good launch, there was some slight competition but not much. I was one of the fastest quads out there. We all had a blast and I just wanted to say thanks for all the advice and that I'm pretty happy with my machine. I'm now looking for some yfz front suspension. :biggrin:
  7. Not trying to steal the thread. Can you advance your timing with the stock plate? It's behind the flywheel, right?
  8. One of mine will stick on me once in a while. It doesn't stick wide open but it will over flow one of the vent tubes and leave a puddle on my shop floor just big enough to piss me off. I'm sure it's just junk in your tank. You should clean everything out and think about putting an inline fuel filter between your tank and carbs. I'm sure that will keep you up and running.
  9. My quad runs just about like I wished it would. I'm going to have to buy plugs and do a check on jetting and make sure that it's right on. Me and some buddies are planning a trip to Waynoka in March on the weekend of the 15, 16, and 17. I'll let you guys know how it does on the sand. :biggrin:
  10. I've heard of people modding their stock plate. Can you do this and have the same results? How much further away from the stock holes would you drill the new ones and which way does the plate need to rotate to advance the timing, clockwise or counter? Would 91 octane pump gas still work ok?
  11. Does the tors eliminator give any more power?
  12. I pulled my hose off of my petcock and watched it flow, it flowed a full stream and didn't stop untill I shut it back off. I'm really thinking that my floats need adjusted. I got halfway into it today and had to quit and go to a birthday party. I'll check them out and hopefully rejet it while I'm in there too.
  13. By fuel valve you mean the petcock right on the bottom of the gas tank right?
  14. What should the floats be adjusted to? I know how to adjust them, just need a measurement of some type. I'm pretty sure they need adjusted. I was riding yesterday for a minute or two and when I would get into it in any gear, it felt like it would run out of gas. I would sit and let it idle and it would fill the bowls back up and same thing again...
  15. When you advance the timing, Is there any problem with running premium pump gas? About how many degrees does it advance it?
  16. I just installed the ones that I bought. They give you two washers and nuts that fit the intake bolts for a makeshift jig to hacksaw the tabs off. All you really have to do is cut them flush with the rest of the flat face of the intake. Pretty easy install.
  17. Hey guys. New problem. I just installed t5s, K&N pod clamp ons, and reeds. Now shee won't start. Is there something special about the reeds I should know about? I have fuel and fire. What's normal compression run on these things? Would the reeds be letting compression back out of the carbs? Let me know what you think. I'm puzzled on the matter.
  18. I have fuel and fire. I haven't checked compression yet. I'm probably going to do that tomorrow some time. What does it need to be around? Let me know what you guys think on my situation.
  19. I put on all my mods yesterday and was trying to get it started. I couldn't get it to fire. I think that it's just a wierd occurance and am going to try it again today. Would it go ahead and start with stock jetting or would I need to adjust my idle air screw some to get it going? I'm not going to ride it with stock jetting, just want to hear the exhaust.

  21. Do you think that five number sizes up would be a good place to start, then buy four 2.5 sizes bigger than that?

  23. What do you guys think that I need to start with on my search for the perfect jets. I'm going to have K&N pod clamp ons with outerwears, Vforce3 reeds, and toomey T5s. I live in MO (where humid is the first word in every sentence). Just looking for some experience on the matter. I'll difinately buy three or four sizes to try. Do I need to change pilot jets also?
  24. I ordered the k&n pods with outerwears. I ordered vforce3 reeds and my toomeys are on the way also.
  25. I don't care if I'm running a filter box or not unless you guys suggest otherwise.
