  1. Ok guys, I REALLY want to get her a Banshee but I'll settle for a Blaster because of my limited budget. I only have about $1000. to spend unfortunately, so I've been looking for a non-running one to work on. Gotta question for all of you... I found a 1998 blaster for sale and the guy says the kickstart won't move so it might be a blown motor.

What do you guys think it would be worth? What should I offer him? Ya think $600 is a low blow or reasonable?

I sold a decent running blaster for $1000 about 6 months ago. If it doesnt run and the kick starter is solid and wont moved something seized and i wouldnt pay more than 500.00 but its really up to you and it depends on the overall condition of the machine. Mine wasn't in that great shape but it was 100% functional.

  2. :ermm:

    hi all,

i had k&n clamp on for my stock carbs, and they flowed great. the problems is they like to fall off from time to time. does anyone know any tricks on keeping these on? i am going with foam uni clamp ons next time, thanks.

Well i have the a K&N clamp on and i have never had it fall off. Just makes sure you dont get too much oil on the surface that clamps down otherwise i supose it could come off due to lubrication. but i can't imagine if you tighten it well and dont get it all oiled up you will have this problem again.

  3. i have a little lower compression around 150-155 and i am mixing 2 gal 100 octane with 3 gal 93 octane and that might be a little overkill. with 160 octane i think you should prob. do the same or similar to what i am. it works out to be right around 96 octane. Just my opinion.

  4. if anyone wants any of these part just PM me an offer. i am not looking to make a killing, just get some parts out of the garage.

Stock pipes and silencers - good shape but some surface imperfections and no dents or dings and runs pretty quiet

Stock Grab bar - some scraps from pavement wheelies -

    Stock timing plate

    Stock Head with stock nuts

    Stock front 14T sproket

Stock rear 41T sprocket (i think its 41T - or whatever stock gearing is)

    Rear Parking brake with cable

  5. I think your okay...mine fit a little different on each side. I think the right one is almost an inch longer but I just chock it up to the frame may be a little bit tweaked.

    alright thats good to know.

Anyone else have this same problem? How do i tell if my frame is tweaked?

  6. I bought a used set of toomey t5's w/ silencers about 4 months ago and they mount up on the machine ok and the bike runs great but i noticed that they dont fit the same on both sides.

Like the left side by is like a 1/16" away from touching my Fast Noss Head and the right side is like a full inch away from the cool head.

I this common or is there a problem with the pipes or something?

    thanks

  7. I had a similar problem when getting mine running right. Screw in both air screw all the way and if it runs better than jump up to a 27.5 pilot jet. You are most likely going to need a bigger pilot but you might be able to get away with your air screw all the way it or like .5 turns out.

  8. i've got the t5's on my shee. on the trails they could use a little more down low but you learn how to keep the rpms up. but after i did +4 timing and cool head with 20cc domes and some superstock reeds its got plenty of bottom end for a two stroke.

  9. This bike is stock other than a pro circuit pipe and silencer. Runs very strong. Always starts 1st or second kick. Looking to sell of trade for either a 125 2 stroke or a 250 four stroke MX bike. I am selling for my cousin. Bike is 100% has regular scraches and wear and tear but runs great with way too much power!!! Asking $2500 or trade for 125 2 stroke or 250 four stroke mx bike!!

  10. i just went to the garage to look at my suspension width and i noticed that my rear is like 2-3" wider than my front. does that make sense? I am wondering if the rims are not stock offset and thats why the rear is a bunch wider. The front and rear suspension a arm and axle are all stock. what do you guys think?

  11. not necessarily ... i have my stock rear rims flipped and they line up perfect with the front, end, but if you wana do it "right" then yea you should run the rims on the stock offset and get a wider axle i guess

Oh nice! that sounds better than a $350 axle.. by the way what type of rear shock do you run?

  12. I was hoping someone would tell me to go with works because the price is so reasonable!! Do you run the stock rear shock or do you run the works rear shock? and if you had the stock rear re-worked where did you have it done?

That is a good choice on the 2000 banshee and Titan. I love my truck, but yours is a little cleaner looking than mine! I use mine for work everyday but try and keep her looking as good as i can.

  13. I am looking to get a decent suspension set up for my 2000 banshee - stock suspension set up. I ride a lot of different types of terrain, everything from wide open fields to woods trails and a bunch of motocross track riding. I cant really build a machine specific to anything because i like to do a little of everything. For the suspension i want to gear more toward a MX set up without making the bike too wide and hard to negotiate in technical trails.

Just to add one more variable. I don't have the money to drop 2-3K into suspension i was looking at somthing like Elka dual rates for like 500-700 or even Works At steeler for like 375 but i really dont know what to do. I have been reading all week in the suspension forum and cant really figure out whats best for my situation.

I hope i didn't give you too much useless info. i am just trying to get some stuff picked out some my shee doesn't punish me so bad on jumps and general bumps and rough stuff.

I ride fast and hard almost all the time but i wont be racing or anything. So i dont need the best of the best but i hate to get cheap shit and 6 months later replace it and waste even more money.

sorry for the long post!! thanks
