  1. This pic is my first photo of my quad and I
  2. I am going to go with the port job. Not till this winter. But I talked to the guy at my shop whom does alot of performance banshee, blaster, 250r, and dirtbike stuff. He is going to set me up with a good trail type port. I do alot of diff riding but this is what I do most. Thanks for the idea. I have never really considered doing this. GUy at my local shop said that a shee with pipes, no airbox, reeds and a port is a very powerful combination and will be usable for whatever I want to do except for mud and wet stuff due to my filter being exposed. This is not an issue because I dont like to get it dirty. Thanks.
  3. I did this and it told me more fuel was the answer. The guy at my dealer gave me a chart for needles for this carb. I went with a diff needle. richer from 1/8 to 1/2 I played with that on lean then rich. ended up 1 clip away from as rich as it goes. Did a wot plug test on new plugs. Good result. My plugs look good and Im back in the game. Ended up with a 45 pilot , I dont remember the needle, there is alot of them for that carb. My main is a 182. It runs good and plugs look good. I think I got it. Never new there was so many needles with so many diff tapers to them. Thanks.
  4. Is porting reasonable for a bike with reeds. No airbox. fmf fattys. I run it alot in the sand. Up hills. And at night with my wife on the back. I dont care about gas mileage. I just like to spank raptors. Everyone has em around here. I like banshees and will never buy another quad. I just dont want a huge motor due to the fact that my wife rides it and I need reliable and simple. As much as I can get. The guy at my local shop is cool but I really like your guys input. I use it more than his.
  5. It totally cuts out for a brief second right about that time you try to hit it down hard from around 1/4 to 1/2. like 3rd over a hill going for the wheelie. I will play with needle to see if gets better. Richer first. How can I get a good feel for my idle setting. can i fire it on new plugs and let it idle then read them.
  6. I have a 182 main with the needle in the middle. It is a dej needle I believe. It runs good but has a low throttle dead spot. It makes it impossible to leave it in a gear let out and get back into it.
  7. You will get beat if you buy a raptor. They are slow. No bigger for the rider. Get a set of propeg nerfs so you have a wider foot area. Put a taller set of bars on it. Ride it love it. Dont buy a 4 stroke.
  8. I have had numerous quads and three dirtbikes. There is no toy even comparable to the banshee. My 450r honda is gone now because there is nothing like the powerband and sound of a well tuned banshee. A banshee that just has pipes, reeds, kand n filter. tuned just right will beat the average 4 stroke. Long live the banshee. The banshee I have now is the only toy I have beside my cbr and will be the only dirt toy I will ever own. Unless I tweak the frame. Then i will get a new frame.
  9. get a slide hammer with a set of diff size fittings. pound them out nice and soft. This is what I had to do. autozone should be able to rent you one.
  10. Took it to a local shop yesterday. called me this morning. The case seal is bad. This stinks thanks guys. I guess I get to start working on it early this year.
  11. Its not my jetting rode all season with the same jetting. thanks though. it is a problem outside of my carbs. same problem two diff carbs. My other carbs were on all season and ran fine.
  12. Not my premix. I am way to particular. My tank is cleaned new hoses. all of it. Not a fuel issue.
  13. Last weekend my banshee started runing funny. One cylinder (right when on her) was not firing very hard. I got off and that same carb was spilling gas. I tapped on the carb with a screwdriver head to see if maybe the float. Not the case. Parked it took the carbs off said F cleaning them Im buying a two to one. I hate cleaning two carbs. So I get the 2to1 install it today. Fire it up and still running shitty. Same thing. Let it idle for a minute and it was spiiting oil from the connector where my pipes come together. Shut it off checked both cylinders for comp. good. good spark. I think maybe a case seal or something. If so does case need split? If thats the case Im done for the year. New paint on frame and a gusset kit. This sucks its too early for quitting. Thanks My friends. No tors No other garbage to do this.
  14. I have a 96 shee with .20 over bore. fmf turbine cores and fattys. boysen reeds. No airbox. I currently am running stockers with 330 mains. stock pilots. It runs killer with no dead spots. You guys helped me get here. but i just bought a 2to1 and a 39 pwk. I have no idea where to begin. This a relatively new carb, but I bought used from a dealer off a totaled quad. I know nothing about what jets are in it or the needle position. Just wondering if anyone has an idea where to start. Thanks guys. I will get some pics uploaded soon as figure out how to. Hey if you know how to do that I need that info too. I have windows vista and my pics are in my picture file on my computer. Thank you . Thank you.
  15. i have fmf fattys and turbine cores. milled head. .30 over. reeds. stock carbs. k and n with outwears and no box. i have 340s with stock pilot only 1 and half turns out. My needle is leaned one notch. I have no dead spots even in sand. I usually need plugs about three quarters through the season. Its not perfect but i know its not lean. I ride alot and it seems to run good at almost all temps.
  16. show me how you do that. a pic . thanks
  17. unplug the tors module under the gas tank. small black box on left side.
  18. sell it, buy her a shee or atleast a 250r
  19. If it is an outwear for the box than I would pick one up for your muddy conditions. Definetly take that lid off. Run your outwears, never forget to oil your k and n before you ride. They sell recharge kits everywhere. Autozone. 10.00
  20. all 2 strokes mix oil and gas. some mix race gas in for higher compression motors, and more power. tread carefully with high octane fuels.
  21. I think that is a shock cover in your picture. Your air screws are on the left side of each carb. they are small gold colored flat head screws. I would run it a 1/4 turn richer with your new filter. No air box lid if you have the outerwear for the k an n. Put in 330 mains. It should be a good reliable start. I have 330 mains with pods but Im at higher elevation. If I was at sea level I would probably be at 340 or 350. 330s should be a real good start for your setup. All quads are diff. no one can give you an exact answer, but I am very pleased with my setup. Go to faqs at the top of your home page here on the site and read the whole article on jetting it will lead you in the right direction. This is the best jetting article I have ever read. It will put it all out in front of you. I believe it shows your air screw on there too. Good luck. No airbox lid on a banshee is a very noticeable upgrade. Make sure you run the airbox adapter or that thing will be full of fine sand and will pop quick. Go with the k and n. The foam elements really arent that nice. they tear and fall apart. A well kept K and N will outlive your motor. Happy wrenching
