  1. Hi guys, back on again for a bit more help with my rebuild. Firstly should the ball be welded onto the end of this shaft out of the clutch blasket? Ive been reading and I dont think it should. There was no ball bearing inside the clutch basket so im thinking the one welded on is it. Secondly where does this rod go? I was lifing the engine out of the frame and it fell out and I want to be sure I put it back in the correct place. Thanks guys
  2. I know it sucks! Think il take the torch to it and then try to back the nut off. May as well give it a go before I buy a new one! Thanks for the feed back guys. I guess you just never know what you'll find with a used bike!
  3. Just thought I'd post up my latest problem with my rebuild. Obviously the last owner deciced to weld this nut on the shaft!! Ive no idea why. Any suggestions? You's think it can be fixed?
  4. Thanks bansh-eman. Whats the difference in a prolite and normal piston?
  5. Also I was looking at these ones on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Bans...1QQcmdZViewItem He must have the wrong bore size. What do yas think?
  6. Thanks for all the answers. Cleared that up for me guys. Why would I need to be careful when buying off ebay?
  7. Sorry if this seems like a real dumb question guys but can someone explain to me what size bores cylinders go up in. I know stock cylinders are 64.00 but do they go up in like certain intervals? Also what is the largest size thay can be bored? I know this might seem like a stupid question but Im looking to buy some ported cylinders from ebay and want to get good ones. Thanks
  8. yeah definatly gonna try get cases to match. Not sure about getting the cylinders reslieved. Is it a big success?? Also are the slieves not very expensive?
  9. That would be an excellent help mate. Are your cylinders ported? I think I'll try and find ported jugs if I can. But Id be really interested in your cases. Are they in good shape? My address so you can price shipping is: 18, Derrycraw Rd, Newry, County Down, Bt34 1RG
  10. Thanks man. yeah im lookin for a set of ported jugs. Im thinking I might take the gamble and buy from the states. It seems to be hit or miss if the customs try to charge you tax. Im having no luck finding any cylinders (never mind ported ones) over here. Ill prob do the same with the cases as well. Thanks for the input.
  11. So i could go ahead and use the top half of a case that I can get then?? Also i would only be buying the jugs and if necessary cases from the states. I will have to look into postage as there are some jugs and cases on ebay. Cheers for the reply
  12. Today is not going as planned. Firstly I blew the left piston and have decided to take the opportunity to do a full rebuild and port job. I took the cylinders to my machine guy to bore them and they are beyod repair! So my first problem is that I need a new cylinder (which are like gold dust over here, so il prob have to buy two)!! :: So I go home and im like well fuck it may as well split my cases and get the rest of my piston out and give the tranny a good clean so I start into it and notice a small hole in the top half of the case :: This is a shit day on the banshee rebuild!! Anyway i basically just wanted to moan about it but here are a couple of questions 1. Can i just get the top half case and put it with my bottom half or do I need to get the full matching set like clymers says? 2. This question is prob a long shot but have any of you's guys ever sent parts to ireland? If so would i have to pay tax on them?? I know its a long shot to ask that but parts are so hard to find here and are really expensive. Cheers guys and sorry bout the long post!!
  13. Ah thats excellent info. Thanks bansheman! I wasnt sure if it was the correct mod for me or not. Ill try and save for a port job instead. Thanks again.
  14. Fantastic help guys. Anyone know where I can get a lightened flywheel? Are they a good mod? I was hoping ebay had some but there is none. We cant get them in Ireland at all. Banshee mods are so rare over here. People just normally put pipes on and that is it!!! I guess we are missing out on loads of power!
  15. Hey guys, Im in the middle of complete rebuild, just waiting on my wiseco's to come. I was going to put an adjustable timing plate and lightened flywheel on and was just wondering am i going to feel much of a difference with these? I dont really understand the electrics so dont really know what to expect. Like from searching I see people having +4 timing and +6 timing. How do you know what to set it at?? This is prob a dumb question but I may as well ask to get educated when im at it. My mods are dmc alien pipes, 240 mains, k&N with modified lid. Thanks Gerard
  16. So i need a new clutch? Man these shee's just eat money!!!
  17. Nothing at all. Just the 6 plates which were kinda stuck together with the oil but thats its. Can anyone clear this up? This is obviously a first?? Would there be any reason why people take these fiber plates out?? In theory would the clutch still work like mine did or are these fiber plates essential?? Have i defied the laws of science!!
  18. So I need a new clutch? Im so confused!!! Agh! lol
  19. Im deadly serious guys this is what i have taken out. Here is the close up of the worst one.
  20. I cant seem to get the close up pictures on. It keeps telling me they are to big. Il trya agin here now.
  21. Last one! So let me know what you's think! I take it i need a new clutch??
  22. Cant get pictures to fit on one post! Im an idiot!
  23. The much awaited pictures guys
  24. The clutch wasnt even my problem. It was always fine. Didnt even slip or anything. I just blew the left piston so im stripping her down to start from scratch. You guys think the guy i bought it off had them removed or anything??
