Banshees have always and will always lack bottom end power like 4 strokes. You can gear them and mod them as much as possible. But when you feel that smack of power thats where those motors like to be. They crave the high rpms. Keep riding her and get used to your shee. NO porting the motor will not make you run race gas. The only reason people have to run race fuel is when they take their compression to numbers above 160. If your compression is below those numbers then just 92-94 octane pump fuel will be just fine. If your having trouble with your carbs call jeff he will help you out and he will give you prices on porting when you decide to do that. Ya you were going slow till you saw the cop then you said you cracked on it and you were gone and hit his car with rocks as you flew by. This is why atv's and shit get looked down on. And funny you will only ride with people who will run from the cops with you now. Wait till your 18 and some real punishment will come into play. Then you will wish you could only pay 100 bucks to go get your bike. And I've been caught by the cops before. I was only 1/4 mile away from the house and he still wouldn't let me off. I talked him out of impounding my bike since I lived near by. This was when I was about 20 years old and my fines were 240 bucks and 30 days in jail no less than 3. Judge suspended 27 of them and let me and my buddy work it off in 3 days of community service. And I was on like a highway/route type of road not a dirt road. If I were on a dirt road the fine and jail time wouldn't have came into play. And the officer even told us its cool to ride on the road like that just as long as its right on the edge and we were at a safe speed. To this day I never ride on roads like that again, and I dont' litter cuz that shit is a mother fucker to have to clean up for 8 hours a day.

What does a shee motor that is blown or locked up cost? I know running they cost anywhere from 1000 up to crazy amounts depending on stroker and cubs and shit.

30-45 mins is way to short even for a bigger carb. When I had 2 30 mm carbs I was running around 4-5 hours give or take 30. I always ran out of gas before all my 4 stroke buddies but then again they always had to eat my roost and then catch me when I stoped to regroup. Definately not under an hour. Was this your first and only tank? You sure it was full? I know they are dumb questions but I've kicked my shee before about 40 times wondering what the fuck was wrong and I forgot to turn the gas on. So shit does happen.

I'd go with number 2, more descriptive in his sale, garage kept and has 2 sets of tires for you. Only thing I don't like about it is the big ass gas tank and the heel guard setup he has just looks to cluttered.

Banshees started in 87 virtually mechanically nothing has changed at all. Only things they change is every year they do a diff plastic color scheme. The only change made was in 1990 they had j-arms and then they started coming factory with a-arms. I prefer a-arms over j-arms so look for a shee that ranges from 1991-present. You can pick up early-mid 90 shees around my area for 1200-1700 with minimal mods on it. Just gotta shop around. EDIT: i checked wikipedia and they said in 90 they still had j-arms is this right? I always thought it was the first 3 years was j-arms then rest were a-arms.

Sounds like your on your way. Give a sponsor a call they will build you the best shee you could imagine. If you are going dune/drag only you might wanna think about getting some cubb cylinders. And for pipes CPI's will do you good. But like I said the sponsor will build you a beast. The skys the limit on a shee it just depends on how big the wallet is.

time for new tires. get some razr's or holeshots and run about 3-4 psi in them I've also heard good reviews about kenda knarly's. the exhaust part there is an exhaust hanger that comes from the frame and is adjustable to fit different pipes they are in-expensive for stock ones. best carb set up if you are gonna run threw mud and water like that is the k&n pro flow kit which turns your airbox into a setup that holds 1 filter and runs 2 tubes from the box to the carbs. also if you got an extra couple hundred bucks buy you a set of used pipes: pro circuits, fmfs, t5's are all great pipes and will really get your tires spinnin.

you want about an inch of play total up and down. to have the best results if you are by yourself pull down on your grab bar this will add weight and compress the shock which will tighten the chain. and then set you adjusters and all that good stuff to where you have 1 inch of play. If you got a buddy and he is about the same weight as you have him sit on the bike while you do the chain. this way when you are sitting on it the chain will have the right slack in it. but if you don't pull down or have someone sit on it your chain it might not be where it should with your weight accommodating for the rest of the slack.
