No problem man i don't know if i helped you any but i only see you have 22 post start talking to the guys on here you'll be suprised how many friends you can meet on here and get deals on stuff and hell you can probably help us out with stuff we don't know about. There is no such thing as somebody that knows everything you never know when you can help out somebody.
Like i said i wouldn't even waste your time with acetone it doesn't do anything that stripper is bad ass. take my word on it
Old pic before i put more stuff on the bike.
But that's what that stripper stuff will do.
I'll see what i can do i mostly just took stock bolts and brought it to them and they matched it. I didn't need that much so it was easy to just bring it to them.
I got a few sets laying around the garage sprockets are cheap just keep different tooth sprockets around and you will never have to wait on something at the last minute.
I wouldn't spend the money then, like i said i have all my stock stuff taken off and i wouldn't use but a little bit. Get the small kit like i did like the clutch and stator cover lol everything else i got from a buddy at a fastenal place.
So you just disconnected the cable from the twist and connected the same one directly to your thumb throttle assembly? Can't understand what the popping noise your talking about but high idle may mean you have to get the right length cable for the thumb throttle. The length may be different for the twist. I'm not positive cause i haven't had a twist ever.
You will also notice that you will have tons of extra bolts that you won't use. In my opinion i wouldn't pay for a kit since half of my frame is hacked and lightened. I'm sure you can use a little more for a stock frame but not to sure. I just assume go to Fastenal or a local store and get bolts from them cheaper and where you need the bolts.
If i were you i would just adjust the whole front end, i'm with everybody else it just don't look right and i wouldn't chance it. I'd clean up all that rust as well. Good luck with it no matter what you got a deal only paying 500 bucks. I lose those kinda deals.
Tate is a good guy for sure, i talked to him about getting my cases done and was more than helpful, can't wait to get my stuff back from Jeff and fast and then powdercoated.
