Looking for a set of 9" rear rims for the banshee. Must be straight, can be oem or aftermarket. Let me know also will need to be shipped to Nova Scotia Canada. Thanks

I just finished the yfz a-arm install with shock, and my shocks are also touching the upper a-arm, only barely. Also it seems as though the shocks ahve hardly any tension as I adjusted the spring about half way with only my hand spinning. Any help on this would be great. Thanks

Sorry about that, 0-maybe 500ft I run in the winter and summer, so 0C t0 30C, I think that would be 32F to about 90F

Hey all, The site has been exreemely helpful so far as I have made a few mods to my shee. I keep taking things apart and fixing/upgrading as I go along and my next thing is to get the jetting spot on. So as of now, I have FMF fatty's, powercore II silencers, timing +4, v-force reeds, and K&N filter with a K&N lid. I want to play with the jetting, where should I start and what should I have in the garage to tune properly, in the way of jets, needles, etc. Thanks

Thanks for all the replies, I'll give it a try tonight and see what happens.

I started the yfz front end transformation and I can't seem to get the ball joint separted from the spindle, both the top and bottom. Are there any tricks to doing this? I have an automotive pickle fork, but it seems to be oo big. Second, on the a-arms that I bought, the upper ball joint boot is torn a little bit. Can I replace the ball joint? WIth either a new one or the one from my old a-arms? Thanks for the help

I believe that mine is much further than that, after looking at it from last night. I wold almost guess close to 1 cm. Would that be the culprit?

I didn't put on a new stator?Shoudl I? As for the pickup, I really didn't check exactly where it was I just assumed it would bolt back on the plate. What should the gap be? As for the wires I checked those and they seem to be fine. Thanks for the replies Keep helping and making suggestions.

Hey there all, I just installed a rm timing plate and adjusted it to +4. The bike ran like crap. (backfire, sputter etc.) So i put it back to ) degrees and it still ran like crap. I put in a new set of plugs and ran it wot from 1-4 and shut it off. The tops where a light gray, maybe even whitish which is lean. The problem is, before I installed the timing plate it was working great. I believe its either a bad timing plate, possibly my staor went while I was doing this or I may just need to rejet. If I rejet, what should I go with?? The bike has 125 psi in each cylinder, fmf fatties w powercore 2 silencers, K&N filter and K&N lid. I drive most of the time at less than 500 ft, and the temp range from 20F - 90 F. Any help wuold be great?

For mods I have a K&N filter wil a K&N lid. I have fmf fatties with powercore II silencers. Thats about it. I don't understand why changing the timing would make it that diferent after it has been running great. Also, after putting it back to 0 degrees and it didn't change has me stumped. Could the pick up be too far away or too close cause that sem to be a little adjustable? Any help would be great. Should I turn the air scews in some to see if that makes it run a little richer?

I put it back to +2 and it didn't run any better. So then I put it back to 0, and still no better. When I went for a ride even near wide open it was backfiring and sputtering. My pipes semed really hot as well. Anyways I then put in a new set of plugs and ran it WOT 1-4, and shut it off. I pulled the plugs and they seemed a little whitish grey on the top? Any help would be great. I was hoping this would be an easy mod and now the bikes works like s@#t. It was running so great.

Before I advanced the timing I was at 125-128 in each cylinder. I'll head out and back it off 2 degrees.

Hey all, I just installed a adj timing plate and set it at +4. I took it for a ride and the bottom half of the throttle sputters and backfires. Once it open up it works great. Any suggestions? BTW before I advanced the timing it worked very well, with no hesistation. Do I have to re-jet or should I just advance it 1, 2 or 3 degrees? Thanks

How to install an Adjustable timing plate
Merlin replied to Finkshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I have the actual flywheel puller from yamaha, so it doesn't have the nut on the top it has a T handle. Do I just keep turning it until it POPS off. I don't have a flywheel holder,so what can I use to keep it from turning. -
I don't believe there is anything wrong with my bike. Plugs are always a nice chocolate brown, motor sounds good. I have been doing lots of reading about the 93 octane and everything kept saying do a compression test to be sure. I wanted to make sure I could advance the timing and still have pump gas. Next I would like to lok into getting a NOSS head. One other question, will I have to rejet if I advance the timing +4?
-
I just went back out and did another compression test after letting the bike warm up. After all was said and done, I checked it 4 times on each cylinder and I kept getting betwen 125-128 psi on both cylinders. Is this bad? BTW I'm at sea level maybe 200 ft above Are you referring to the compression after I install the timing plate or just how it runs?
-
I just did a quick compression test on my 03 shee and it was at 125-128psi in both cylinders. I did the test cold. I have 2 questions. 1. Should I warm it up and do it again? Its pissing down rain form that storm. 2. I have a rm timing plate, if I go to +4 will I still be alright with pump gas? BTW the motor is stock, with stock head and carbs. Have FMF fatties with powercore 2, k&N filter etc, but that shouldn't mater with compression Thanks

Hi all, I'm looking to buy a set of 450 a arms(modded for the banshee preferable). Also looking for a noss or pro design cool head with 21 cc domes. Thanks
-
I have a set of razrs and I have another set of knarleys coming. I changed the gearing to a 15/40 so I don't spin as bad. I think I have apro design cool head with 21 cc domes. Would that be good for my area. Thanks again guys.

I'm looking into a timing plate, just don't know which one to get. I'm looking at a cool head now. I can't get rid of the lid cause I ride in some wet areas. I have a K&N in the box and on the lid with outerwears. Port and carbs will come maybe later. Thanks again

My elevation would be between 0-500 m. Less than 1000ft. So for the cool domes where is the best place to get them and where will I gain top, bottom,?? Thanks for the quick reply. and you're right it's an addiction. The wife hates it

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and I have a few questions. I picked up an 03 banshee last summer and have been riding mostly trails and the odd track. I was wondering what should be the next mod to the engine. As of now I have FMF fatty's, powercore 2 silencers, K&N filter, and v force reeds. I'm in the process of getting rid of the tors setup and putting on a set of 450 sfront shocks. That is where she is now. I also want to be able to still use pump gas. Thanks in advance.

Is the throttle still for sale? Can you ship to Canada?
