  1. Clutch basket came apart and one of the fingers wedged itself between the basket gear and crank gear. Took out the crank seal. Got everything apart and don't have any up and down play in the bearing but have some wobble to it. Looks to be just a ball bearing. Don't think it's the hotrod bearing but not sure. Thinking of replacing them anyway. Do they press off and on? Can they be heated to ease install removal?
  2. I might be interested in the clutch setup. When/if you decide to part it. You would have better luck that way. Nobody wants to buy a whole motor any more. You can sell parts all day long though. Sorry about your Grandma.
  3. He said he's the midwest dist for them. Usually has good luck. Supposed to find out tomorrow. Did you get your new one installed? Ran it yet?
  4. I thought I sent you a PM a few days ago. Maybe not. You should have one now.
  5. I even went crazy and filled them up with silicone and smoothed out the bottom so nothing could get in there.
  6. Just had the same problem with my setup. I called Jim at Passion about it and he called me back today. He's going to check into a warranty claim for me. I'll post pics later depending on how this all works out. It was pretty ugly though. Might even have to replace the crank bearings. That's gonna suck.
  7. It's been a while since I've been in my tranny. I think the shift drum has stops in it for the forks or something to keep it from doin that. Unless you have something loose. Not really and expert. Somebody on here should know.
  8. I've done that before. Didn't want to tell the wife either. You can run them that way. You might have to drill the (new)outside of the rim for a valve stem. I put valve stems in backwards to seal up the holes and drilled the new outsides so they can be aired up. Seems a little redneck I know but poor people have poor ways.
  9. So what happens when you do that? Does it go into another gear? Neutral?
  10. I just put a set on my bike with a similar set up and haven't looked back. I changed a few other things at the same time but so far it runs like a striped ape.
  11. $20 for the insert
  12. Hey good luck with your trade. I'm going through the same thing here. I've already got one bike that I have to buy special gas and then mix it for. I would be nice to have another bike to just through some pump gas in and go ride. That magic button sure is nice to have also. Maybe it's me just getting old and lazy, but it would be nice to have a bike that is a little less of a bitch to ride once in a while. I'm looking at a Cannondale at the moment. It's still pretty fast but has the button, fuel injected, and can run on pump gas. If I was in your shoes I would keep the Z. They can be made into pretty nice bikes too. I think Doug gust was winning on one until they came out with the 450.
  13. Got my swinger the other day. Looks like a nice piece. Haven't had a chance to get it on yet. I'm going to run it for a little while and see how I like it. If it works out good I'm going to see about getting my carrier and maybe a-arms coated to match. I got the silvervein one. Not sure if I have to go back to this guy so it will match or not. I assume it's like paint where nothing's the same.
  14. Didn't think you were supposed to run different from side to side? I did that one time on accident and almost smoked a piston. Never heard of it being done before on purpose. One of these smart guys will chime in here for ya maybe.
  15. Well I bought the +2 fleabay unit. The day after that another guy that makes custom ones offered me a nice deal. Figures. I'll see how this one works out. Hopefully if will be ok. Thanks for the input.
  16. Got any aftermarket swingarms? Looking for a +2.
  17. I thought you might chime in. I've got another guy telling me just the oposite. He says don't go less than a +4. Don't know that he trail rides much though. I think I'll end up with one of those fleabay +2s that the one guy showed me in my wanted post. They are about the cheapest and best looking ones I've seen so far. Supposed to be unbreakable too. Can't beat that.
  18. I've got a Passion 4 mill that I just rcently put 35AS on also. I switched over from 34 PJs. I've got Vito's pipes, Boss intakes, VF3s and am running with out the spacer plate with a set of cut domes. The 35s came with CELs but I was running DEKs in the 34s. I switched all the stuff over from the old carbs to the new ones including needles. I think I'm running 155 mains, 55 pilots and the needle in the middle. I can't imagine there is that much difference in our ports but maybe there are. I'm also at like 2' above see level. I think.
  19. I've got a Passion 12 port 4 mill with all the goodies running on Avgas. At the moment the swinger is stock. I've got a +4 axle and I think +3 a-arms. I do all kinds of riding with it. Trails, sand, drag, hill climbing, all the usual stuff. I'm thinking about going with a +2. Don't want to lose any all around riding but want it to come out of the hole better when dragging. I use a set of 4 snows and also a set of 21" 10 paddle Extremes. Any recomendations?
  20. Didn't know that. Thanks for schooling me. If that's the case I think that kinda sucks. I would own 4 stroke FI but doesn't sound like the 2 stroke setup is much better than a carb. Still gets better delivery I would imagine but it's not monitoring so you still have to tune like a carb. Not for me. That's always been one of the advantages to me of having FI.
  21. There are always limits. Massive changes in elevation might be one. I've got a pile of Mustangs too. You can only go so far with mods before you have to remap. The newer fuel injected 4 wheelers are like that also. They are nice since there is no choke to deal with. I'd trade my bike for something fast and fuel injected anyday.
  22. I think that is one of the benefits of fuel injection. You usually have some type of O2, throttle position, and all that so you don't have to change, it does it itself. That takes elevation, temp and all that out of the equation. You just have to get the air fuel set up in the beginning and then it should self adjust.
  23. Did you ever sell your "big ass tank"? I'm assuming its a fuel tank? How big, what color? How much?
