How much so flags usually cost, ballpark? I'll need a few. Not sure when I'm going. Maybe April. Still working on it. Hate to drive all that way and not go there though.
-
I've only ran the 4 snows. Don't know about the zippers. I got mine from a place called Mudthrowers.com . Should be able to google mudthrowers I think. 120 sounds like a good price shipped though. I think I payed like 38 apiece or something with free shipping. Been a while though.

Did you find a deal on some somewhere?
-
I'm from Illinois, might be making a trip in that direction and thought I might spend a couple of days there. Probably have my bike, kids 90, a small buggy and whatever my wife will find to ride by then. Not sure when exactly I'll be going, first part of next month maybe. Do I need to make reservations? Campsites fill up fast? What kind of equipment do I need? Flags, spark arresters? How are the campgrounds? Electrical hookups, showers? How is it for people stealing shit? Do we have to lock up our stuff at night? Anything you can think of would be great. Thanks.

I've looked up Turkey Bay a few times. Do they have electrical hook ups and showers? I've thought about going just haven't made up my mind. Haven't heard of that place before Jason. I'll look into it though. I'm trying to talk the wife into a trip to Little Sahara in a month of so. I've got a guy in Arizona that wants to do a Buggy swap with me and it's a bout half way for us both. If I'm going to go that far I might as well stay a few days. Lots of sand there. Looks like a good time.

He sent a Postal Money order and everything went well. Would sell to him again. Nice guy to deal with.

I've ran some of those with pipes and Cherry bombs that were pretty fast. I'd like to see how your bike stacks up too. It should be pretty fast. You have any sand tires for it?
-
I'm not heated. I had a good time too. Not trying to down the Booger bike either. That is funny though. You should change your name to Booger Guy. That's funny too. I know I'm probalby the only one laughing. That's how I roll  . I'd like to do more riding also. I told my event coordinater about it and she asked me if I was going. She didn't say I couldn't go. That's a plus. Will have to see what's going on at the time.

Gonna have to check my schedule.

I'm going to have to disagree. I'm not super drag guy by any means but I have played in it alot. Tires are almost everything when it comes to drag racing in the sand. I'm not disputing the fact that the single carb bike runs good. It does. I'm pretty sure the majority of the leed you had came right at the start of the race. I could be wrong but that's kinda what I remember. Power isn't going to get you that in the sand without the right tires. Hell he was spanking me until I put my paddles on. My bike has got to have more HP than it does. I've done alot of racing in Mo in finer sand. My buddy has a 450 that I use to judge speed. He used to beat me by at least a bike. Then I got the same tires he is running and now I beat him by a bike. That was before I put the pipes and stuff on my bike. I'm not downing the Booger bike so don't take me wrong. I just think that if the tire playing field was leveled it would look alittle different. I think pavement is the only way to tell if you are getting absolute traction. Don't think we'll be doing that anytime soon though. I'm not sure Boogers are an awesome tire they just happen to be better suited to the surface we picked to race on. I'm done.

Your bike did run pretty well. Pelted me once or twice while I was getting dialed in. I'm kinda thinking the crap sand had alot to play in that though. I would have liked to see a race between you with a normal set of tires(no Boogers) and Jason. Those things you were running are taller too which in my experience has alot to do with it. Taller tire better traction. Those thing probably grow a little like my 4snows do too. Don't mean to rain on your single carb parade. It does run good. Until you line up with something that has better tires. Not that that happened.

Did you come down one size at a time from 180? I always get it to the point of puking on itself and then back it down one size at a time until it cleans out. then run it and check the plug. I did the same thing at the Badlands and it ended up running pretty good. I think I'm running a 55 pilot on my 4 mill. Where is your air screw set at?

I tweaked it on Photobucket alittle. Hope it wasn't copywrited. It's way cooler than the one I had sitting next to the flowers in the yard.

There was a guy on here a while back selling a bike with one of those on it. They were all pushed together, I thought it was broke until I figured out what it was. Your bike has that kind of Murdered out Mad Max look any way doesn't it? Fits right in.

I've never noticed a difference.

Me and my group usually go to The Badlands or St. Joe state park in MO. Looking for different places within maybe 4 hours drive? Want to be able to camp with showers and electrical hookup. I like sand but the rest of the group likes to trail ride. It would be nice to have both but we are flexible. Who's been where and how cool is it? Don't want to drive 4 hours to stay in a hole and ride a crappy mx track. Want something with some size to it. Thanks.

Holeshot MX,RazrMX,GBC Sand Devil
dave5.0 replied to dave5.0's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
All that's left is the fronts. Somebody better snag them up. -
What he said. Same thing I said before. I've been running Holeshots before, these iRazrs hook better than those ever thought of in the grass. Hard to keep the front down. I also went from a 18" rear to a 20". The taller the tire the better traction you get. I've ran 4snows in the grass before and just blew them off. These iRazrs just hooked and went. My buddy just put on a full set of Dunlops like off a Z400 this weekend. He loves them. They hook up really well too.
-
Something with a good knob and an open pattern. Like the iRazr, Duro Hookup, or maybe some of the stock dunlops off YFZs and Z400s. The Ohtsus off 400EXs and 250rs would probalby work decent too. I was looking for something jst like you are asking about when I bought the iRazrs. Those were all ones I looked at.
-
I'm running a Passion 4 mill with a stock length swinger and 21" 10 paddle extremes. I slip it in second and it flies out of the hole. Hard to keep the front down but alot of fun. If it's tuned close I wouldn't think you should have a problem. I think I'm running 15-41. Maybe 14-41. Can't remember. I'd have to look. It blows them off in first but slingshots in second.
-
Just ran my new set of iRazrs in that peagravel sand at the Badlands today. Couldn't have been more happy with them. I could do a donut in the big river rock and come out of it in a wheelie. I could also wheelie up the sand hills with them. Nothing like paddles but very impressed. They are also 6 ply and a radial. Might look into those also.

Banshee HQ trip to Badlands in Attica, IN
dave5.0 replied to JasonsBanshee's topic in Riding and Events Forum
Just got everybody dropped off and my bike cleaned up. I'm jumping in the shower and going to crash. Just heard there's a good chance I might have to go into work tomorrow. Those dirty bastards. Planning on sleeping in and doing nothing but healing. Guess we'll see. Wish I would have had more time to talk to everybody. One of my buddies that was with me, this was his first trip and a new 4 wheeler also. Kinda needed to help him out as much as I could. We'll have to do it again sometime. We should all go over to St. Joe state park in MO some time. Much better camping and alot of flats to get some good drag racing in. About twice the area with some pretty nice trails too. Only $3 a day to ride too.
