  2. hello there i had a question for some people who know alot about drag racing, if you look in my sig, those are my mods on my banshee, this saturday im hauling it out to have it get a port and polish done by a banshee pro, if anyone in MN knows about PAUL down at Lake minnetonka motorsports, you know what im talking about, anyways enough of that, after port and polish it will have a cool head, and be running 18cc domes with 110 octane fuel with 32:1 yamalube oil. he has a 2001 craptor, with a slip on silencer, he is toying with me n talkin shit n wont tell me what he is going to do yet, but im getting the hint that he is going to be doing a turbo kit which would be taking his raptor to 72 hp with a stock motor, i am wondering if he is just going to blow me completly away or if it will be close? or what other kind of mods he could possibly be doing under 400 dollars, he said around 320 is what he is paying... any help would be appreciated guys, i weigh alot more than him too, but i just want to know where we would stand against each other in HP range with out riders.   3. not too bad of rust- lime a way or clr or something of that line, kind of lighter in power really rusted/pitted badly- use some high power/commercial grade rust remover like must for rust n what not like that, mine were pitted horribly and look like a$$ and i used a brush, scotch brite scrub pad, and soaked the pipes and pad n must for rust, and rubbbed, not even hard, soon the chemical was brown, took hot water to it, rust all gone, took a mothers buff ball and drill with some polish and buffed it nicely for a while n then polished them by hand, almost new! they shine, not as good as brand new chrome but way damn better than pitted/rust!
  4. ok guys i got a question for everyone here. this summer im going to be running up against my shees rival, another 01 shee with crapping porting(my buddy claims he thinks the guy did it himself with a dremel and its not polished??) but anyways, no reeds, unifilter with stock box, 2 into 1 pipe with no packing, bored 40 over, thats about it. my mods are listed in my sig, what do you think for a race, im a little bigger than him and my stance is way wider and brand new holeshot HDs in the rear. thanks guys

  6. yea i know what you mean, if dirt for such a long period of time cannot get thru just a k&n cone then how is it going to get thru the 2 filters on the lid and the original filter lol, and yes my k&n was dirty on outside but inside was like new, just not oiled, decided to clean it and it looked better than new, sooo fresh haha powerlid is def worth it in my opinion
  7. haha i know i know i cannot complain what so ever throttle response is just that much better and yes u need to watch the mud holes haha not mainly made for anything but dust and clean air. and no the powerlid will not restrict air, hell its gunna give you alot better of a flow, i would switch out from that foam to a k&n filter and add the powerlid then re-jet bcuz ull be getting alot more air and k&ns are pretty indestructable if u buy the recharge kit for like 9 or 10 dollars instead of switching out you dumb foam ones for new ones, the shee is loving it.
  8. recieved my well awaited k&n powerlid today and the install is kinda bitchy cuz you have to sand the sides down on the lid then clean them then attach velcro then squeeeeeeeeeezeeeeee the pre charger on but its nothard just time consuming, i also cleaned and re-oiled my k&n filter, figured while i had it apart might as well clean her up a tad, got it all back in, also cleaned my air box, and man could i tell a difference, i let her warm up to mns 60 degree weather and had the seat off hit the throttle and the pre charger got sucked down, alot more air flow and she pulls even harder now, definetly alot more throttle response. and o yea yesterday, i was riding with a buddy that just picked up a cleean craptor 660r with low hours and exhaust and lets just say fifth on my shee walked away from him pinned and i was just toying with him in fifth, he would catch up and i would tap the throttle off and on and it was funny haha. i suggest the powerlid with k&n filter combo very much, even comes with new jets, got mine off ebay for 45.

  10. haha yes it does sorry about that just typing quickly, yes port and polish with a coolhead and going to run on 110 octane when done. had a buddy that had damn near the same set up and ive been spending days on here looking at sprockets to see what people have been running and decided to step up to 15 in front and possibly a 40 out back? and about my friend that had the same set up... it was very playful in all gears when he had it geared.
  11. if u check my sig i have quite a bit of bolt ons and upcoming engine modds, im wondering if after i port n polish 110 cool head with advanced timing, if that i should rip it apart and throw on new sprockets??? it has quite the pull on lowers and would like my gears to be set up mid thru high mostly, not sacrificing my low end power at all though just focusing on my mid to high a little bit. is it worth a tear down and two new steel sprockets? thanks :biggrin:

  13. they work! i have them on my 01 banshee, they claim that how they work is by taking the air that is floating freely about the carbs and directs it str8 into the carbs. kinda like a direct air port for the carbs. injecting them with air. in my sig u can see my mods and i put the vforce3 and powernows in at the same time, not only is there a ton more of low end all the way to fourth now besides before it was kinda strong till 2nd, but the 4th 5th and 6th powerband pulls alot harder. http://www.scaryfastracing.net/-product info and reviews nad ppl who use it.
