  1. Hmmm good point. I havent really looked into getting it done. how much more work is it pulling the pulling the crank with the jugs off? Is there anything else I need to order? I'll have to do some more reserch on it. Cheers for the help.
  2. Hmmm on the side of the piston box it says Clear: 0.0030(0.076)
  3. ARRRRR dam it now I know i'm going crazy. I went back out and checked the box and for some reason I though it was a .030 rebuild rather then .0030 kit. hmmmmm I think I need a beer.
  4. Hi guys, I'm just after a bit of advice on my first rebuild. Well here's the go! I was getting about 116 @ sea level out of my compression from memory. So when I ordered my shocks and .030 shaved head from wash bourn (thanx Neil it all come today and I tell u those elkas look sexy) Anyway I got Cody to send over a wiseco top end kit for my first rebuild so I could just do it all at once though I wasn

 Hey guys, if any one is looking to part with a set of PT Mids and are willing to ship to Australia let me know. Cheers
  8. Hey bud, have a read of this! It might help with the decision. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...p;hl=dial+a+jet Hope it helps.
  9. Hey I'm interested in the pt mids. can you get me some pics? I'm in Australia though I have no worries about the shipping cost if there good. Cheers
  10. Hi guys, I have been unable to find a compression tester locally that sits at the same height as the spark plug. I realise that this will effect how your compression reads. Is there anyone out there that would be able to tell me how much difference there would be? The tester is about .42 long where as the plug is about .66. Any help would be great. Bairdy
  11. Hell yeah, I have to agree with you guys also  Neil and Cody are great blokes. I haven
  12. Yeah that is what I was thinking though will there be enough adjustment with them for this much altitude change and how well do they go with dust and water getting into the carb, I know you can get the snorkel kit though how well does it work? How much compression loss would there be from a compression tester that only screws in half way compared to one that is the correct size?
  13. Hey guys, Just after a bit of advise with jetting. I currently run 220 mains, the clip 1 above centre, boyesen power reeds, redline air filter with the snorkel removed. I have a PD timing plate and impeller on there way. My altitude is about 200ft at home where I go for a small play when I only have a few hrs. Though most of my riding is around 2500ft to 3300ft. Should I re-jet every time I change my altitude? I know that may seem a stupid question though I
  14. Hey Shee lovers, can anyone tell me if washburn is a good seller? I havent brought anything off HQ before so im not to sure. Cheers
  15. Yep that
  16. No when turning right and the wheels are off the ground the right tierod was hitting the end cap on the bottom arm mount and the left tierod was hitting the top arm. I set it up so that when sitting on the bike the camber was about 25mm less at the top and the toe in was about 8mm. when the bike wason the ground everything was fine.
  17. hmmm, I set it up straight from the back wheels. I also measured from a given point on the front of the frame to each rim. At first it was a lil out. once I got all that right it worked out fine while it was sitting on the ground. Though as soon as I lifted it off the ground and tried to turn one tie rod hit the top arm and the other bit bottom arm mount. I tried this with the caster at 6,5,4 and 3 deg as well as with the camber set at different angles and still couldnt get it...."time for a set of elkas" Good luck with yours and let me know if it all works out.
  18. Hey ben sounds like one of the problems I was having. I just had to make sure the wheels were dead straight with the bar before I set the toe in. It took a while but I got it. How does everything look when the bike if off the ground? Bairdy
  19. Yeah sorry for not getting back earlier. I got called back to work the other night and I dont fly back untill monday so I really havent been able to look it again. I will let u know when I do.
  20. By placing a large square on flat ground and up against the bottom heim, measure the distance to the bottom spindle, say 10mm. measure to the top spindle at first it gave me 28mm. take the 10 from the 28 will give you one side of a tringale. measure from top of to bottom of the spindle. it gave me about 104mm. then use a bit of trig to give u the angle. Or if u know the angle u need say 4.5 and the spindle length you can use it to figure out what the distance should be at the top, which was about 8 mm. I know not the best way to do it! I just went and brought a magnetic angle indicator. So that should save a lot of stuffing around!! I'll try and get it set up tonight and post pics of the outcome. lol Hope it works!! Thanx guys.
  21. hmmm that way sounds easier. I'll give it a go!
  22. Yep it is a pain in the arse alright but if it all works it will be worth it. Yam04 what shocks were u useing? Firehead, I only ordered +2+1, I hope that is what they sent!!! Also how exactly to you measure your caster? I could be doing something wrong they way I have been doing it. I do mostly trail so I will set it up to 0 if i can do it with out the top arm hitting the shock.
  23. I'm not having any more problems with the T.R ends (thanx to the 4inch) though the left rod slightly hits the upper arm when almost at full lock, I think the correct caster should fix this. Yes the T.R ends are the right way.
  24. :yelrotflmao: Well its all starting to look good (touch wood) I have it all back together again. the camber is alomst correct, the caster is the same on both sides though prob a long way off OEM, tie rods connected but not quit finnished and it is already looking better. with the wheels off the ground the tie rods still hit the bottom arm mount when trying to turn. My biggest problem now is getting the caster right, what has everyone else got theres set up to. Hopefully this will sort out the other problems.
  25. Hey firehead, I tried switching the 2 lower arms before as I though that might be it also but the shocks wouldnt fit into the top mounts. These are +2+1 arms so they would have to sit forward like that. hmmm. When I find out what the OEM caster figure is I'll set it back up and see if I have the same problem with the rods.
