I have an 01 and after sitting for a month went to start and it starts and idles perfect. Revs up great you would think there is a problem until you put out then it starts to break up, I did notice that the left tail pipe is smoking more then the right side? I took carbs apart this weekend and cleaned them but it didnt solve my problem. Any ideas?

When i turn to the right there is a clicking or banging noise comming fromn right rear of bike....any ideas where to start???

I am not sure where exactly it was comming from.....it just poured out so quick and alot i thought it would blow the motor...once i turned it off i checked around and i know it sounds stupid but it seemed like it was almost leaking from the air cleaner. ....i am in the middle of finishing up on a rebuild of my banshee so as soon as i am done i will be able to spend some more time on it to see exactly where it was coming from...Should i try and start it again to see exactly where its comming from??? I just dont want to mess anything up internally...

Thanx i did a little more research online today....someone else said it may be the check valve in the oil pump is stuck...any additional info would be great though thanx again

First off yes i do know what site i am on...if i dont say this first there will be a ton of people who will try and remind me. Ok anyway my father recently passed and left me his 92 softail. Today i went outside to take it around the block and its started leaking oil all over my driveway. The bike has probally sitting for 6 months or so. I know its a long shot but. Does anyone on here have any ideas??? It seems to be comming from the right side of the bike. Any help would be great! thanx again.

thanx alot for the info...that is what i plan on doing, tearing the cylinders off the bike this week does anyone live in the PA area that knows where i can send the cylinder to get bored and a good place to get new pistons?

I just bought a 99 banshee for $1500. alls It needed was a throttle cable. (or so i thought) I replaced cable rode it for approx 10 mins. and it died. So i tore it down and somebody said to find what it was bored out to you have to read the pistons. So i cleaned them off and noticed that they were different. The left piston had 1.00 mm and the rh side had 0.50 mm. anyone ever here of this? the part numers on each pistons are LH - A78F2 1.00 MM 513 P4 RH - F72LO 0.50 MM 513 P2 CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN THIS??? i guess i have to redo the top end what are the steps i should take?

So i can just use regular car motor oil 5/30 ???? for my trans on my banshee

thats what i am trying to figure out.....does anyone no if the white collar is supposed to stay in place when you kick the bike...because it doesnt it just slides outward on the shaft when you press down on kicker.

Ok i did post up before when i thought i had problem fixed but now yesterday when i was putting back together to check compression i cant seem to get the kickstarter to work properly. I will try an explain as good as i can what is happening. I put shaft on, then the gear, put the spring in the hole and slide plastic collar on. Now when i press down on kstarter, the kstarter gear slides out pass the idler gear and then goes back completly missing the idler gear. One question i had was, is the white plastic collar supposed to be tight on the shaft. Because it seems if that would stay in place then the kstarter gear would then stop and grab the idler gear. I hope this makes enough sense for you to figure out and help me out. In the Cylmers they say to soak your reeds/valve in a solution of solvent? Does anyone know what to use? Can you soak it in gas? or what?

I just got a 99 and i was wondering what the compression should be? I guess just a round about would be fine? I am waiting for some parts then later this week i am going to check it. any help would be appreciated. thanx
