  1. if your in 6th and it revs but doesent pull you might check your clutch man. i thought i had a pretty good set up and barley beat a stock 450r he was gaining on me at the end. i replaced my clutch and blew him away!!!!!
  2. I heard that the KTM comes with 53 hp stock :woot: . It's pretty much a race ready bike right out of the box. Rims, tires, shocks, and frame. If i can find one cheap enough i think ill get one!!! Thanks!!
  3. Has anyone ridden or raced a new KTM 525xc quad. I hear they are pretty mean. I,m looking to get a 4 stroke for the track any advice.
  4. it is a factory head but i think it is milled down a little.
  5. the fuel is good. i checked my compression a few weeks ago and it was about 145 on both give or take 3 or 4 psi. but i will check it agian. im getting spark but it seems kind of week. this is kind of a stupid question but when i put the side cover back on after the clutch change could i of put the kick start back in wrong not allowing the engine to turn over enough to start. i mean its not running very good when i do get it to start but its cold and may not be warmed up enough. but i get to tired of kicking it to get it up to operating temperature. thanks for the input.
  6. I have a 99 shee with a 35mm pwk 2 into 1 set up. Its ported, vforce reeds, timming advances 4+. i put a clutch in it and raced it the other day it ran great. i parked it and now it is extremly hard to start. i put new plugs(ngk br8es) in it. it seemed easier to start but it would not idle and ran like crap. i have a 200 main, i believe a 48 pilot and the needle in the middle. and the screw about 2 turns out. it hasent ran right sence i parked it. im at about 1100 ft above see level. its about 50 degrees. thanks.

  8. I raced these guy's in a strait line. but they can kill me on a track. I would love to have a 450. there good bikes to ride all day. my shee is fun in small doses.
  9. :biggrin: I got a little story for all of you. A friend of mine bought a bran new 450r off the show room floor. He talked shit for a few weeks(theres no replacement for displacment)Blah Blah BLah. So he wanted to race my 99 shee. My clutch was slipping but I raced him anyway. I took him off the line and ended up winning the race, but he was gaining on me. He cried for a few weeks and baught a pipe, removed the airbox, and jetted his bike. The shit talking started agian. He said there is no way i could beat him now. So he came out and we lined up again. He Braught one of his friend with another 450 for moral support. His 450 was fast!!!!! It had a cam,pipe,intake, and posibly a big bore kit. What i didn't tell them is that i had put a clutch in mine since the last race. All three of us lined up. I smoked both of them like they were pulling a trailer. I mean it was embarrassing. It was by at least 5 lenghts. Neddles to say they cried all the way home. It was a month ago and I still havent heard the end of it. I just thought all of you would love to here a good 450 story I know I do. Later
  10. try your local yamaha dealer. just take the cover off and get everything ready. they shouldn't charge much at all to take the flywheel off. thats what i had to do with my banshee.

  13. I have a 99 shee. It has a mild port job, v force reeds, fmf pipes, timing +4, with a stock head. I put a trinity 2 into 1 kit on it. it runs good but I just want to make sure im running the right jets. I havent pulled them yet. So i dont know what they are. Im riding at about 1400ft above see level. Im going to race a 450r next week. I beat him before but just barely. He put a pipe and k&n on it and wants to race again. So i need all the help i can get. If i you can think of any other mods i can sneek by him in a week let me know. thanks!!!
  14. I have the same question but my shee has a few more mods. Its ported, vforce reeds, no air box, fmf pipes, i believe it is bored over a little. and i have a stock head. I ride in pretty much the same conditions. What kind of jets do you think i need to run? thanks!!!!!!!!!
  15. how much clearence do you need to have between your pick up coil and your flywheel?????????????? i have a miss fire problem. one of my bolts came out of my stator and the washer was stuck between my flywheel and my pick up coil. it would not fire. so i put a new pick up coil on it. now it will not hit high rpm and it pops like its not firing in time or its to early. i can slot the holes on my pick up coil to adjust the clearence. any idaes?????????? ::

  17. well like i said it may be ported. i dont know. i baught the shee after all the engine mods had been made. all i know is that i can run with my buddies cammed up 450 with lots of mods. i put the reeds, intake,and carb on the bike. i got a really good deal on them so i thaught i would give them a try. the intake set up brought it to life!!!!!!!!!!!!! it runs better than it ever has. is there a good way to tell if it has had a port job without pulling the head? because if not that is my next step because i cant let the four stokes get the best of me that would just be disrespect ful to everyone on this site.

  19. i have a k&n filter, pipes, v-force reeds, trinity 2 into 1 intake with a 40 mm carb, wiecso bottom end and pistons bored 60 over
  20. i have stock sprockets. if i go up one in the front i wont lose much bottom end will i?

What is the best sprocket tooth pattern to use for a good all around acceleration, both bottom and top end? i raced a 450r the other day. i smoked him of the line and ended up winning the race but he was gaining on me at the end. i was in 6th wide open and he still had some gears left. if the race would of been longer i would of lost and we dont want that to happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so what do i do?

  24. yeah if worked on alot of polaris jet ski's and they have a high low setting on the carbs. and i also swapped cdi boxes with a buddy and it did not make a difference. so ill probably look at the stator. thanks for all the help guys i really needed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  25. i put new plugs in it and it ran the same. they look good after it runs awhile. im running ngk9es. i was running8s but it seems to run better with 9s. it has stock carbs with k@n filters. the head is also stock.the fuel is good im running amsoil at about 40 to 1. i havent checked the screen in the fuel tank or the fly wheel. thanks for the input. i've had the banshee for about a year but i've only put about 15to20 hours on it and i havent checked temps. i havent done any mods on the bike it is the same as it was when i bought it. this is kind of a stupid question but is the a high and a low fuel mixture adjustment. or is it just jetting. it has a 310 main jet in it but it looks like someone has ran a drill bit through them at one time. but that doesent explain the miss because it ran great when i got it. thanks guys i need all the help i can get
