  1. Who's heading to Glamis next week during Vet's Day + weekend? I'm probably looking at setting up on Pad 3. Send an IM or message and let's make it happen!! Halloween was an awesome weekend at the G, even tho it was kinda hot. I had enough beer to keep it tolerable.. Should be mid '80's next weekend.
  2. RMATV has been my "go to" for tires as I didn't find sponsors that sold tires when I was looking...
  3. It's hard to believe I started this post 9 fukn years ago.... I feel like worm food now! lmao
  4. I don't want dual lighting outputs... I'm doing a DC conversion and don't wanna deal with dual rectifiers, etc. Anyone have anything to chime in about a dependable high output single rail lighting circuit side stator? I just purchased a Baja Designs Pro S2 light for the triple clamp -- hoping it'll work well with HID's.
  5. What was the final review outcome about the stators from the ex-site sponsor Racetech Electrics?
  6. What's a trustworthy brand 200w aftermarket stator to install on my Banshee? Plans are to do a DC conversion. Thanks! Jay.
  7. I'm glad you bought, tried out, and are happy with your tires... because they are absolutely the tire I didn't like for duning! I only dune at Glamis and I like to slide -- I had a set of 21x12x8 8 paddle tires and HATED them for anything but straight line dragging. Trying to ride a bowl would slide a bit, dig in, flex, try to launch the front end (repeat like 6 times per bowl) and it just wasn't as much fun as carving a corner on 10" wheels to me. It was mushy and unstable compared to precise and controllable on my serval with a +2 swinger and +2+4 front end. I like my Sandstars for duning -- I sold my Haulers. So I'm glad you didn't read my post b4 you picked up your setup!
  8. Why wouldn't you just have Axis rebuild them? I believe it's like $90 and done. I ask because I'd like to have all 3 of my Axis shocks refreshed and if there's a reason why I should have them done somewhere else... I'd like to know why!
  9. The thing about billet intakes is... they suck on so many levels. That being said, my opinion is they require a specific method to install. You can't just torque the cyls down because the one piece intake needs a flat common plane to mate across the 2 cylinders. The following order of operations has worked for me and aligned the cyls to the billet intake. Install cylinders equally tight, just a few ft/lbs. Mount the 1 piece intake and tighten half way to torque spec. Next, final spec torque the cyls. Finally, spec torque the intakes. I recommend ditching the blingy billet intake and picking up a pair of separate UPP intakes.... that eliminates alignment issues == but hey, that's just my opinion! Good luck on your repair.
  10. Anyone wanna head out to Glamis this weekend? Looking like high '70ºs there and you know the sand's gonna be epic. I'm on the fence, but if some of you slackers are gonna show up -- I'm in!!
  11. Sold. And HP... I'm gonna continue to whore'd them! lol
  12. I run 4º caster, 3º camber, I shoot for between 1/8-1/4" toe-in. Seems to be stable at speed and turns ultra well. Gotta have good front tires tho. I've tried Mohawks and SandStars... I like STU's hands down. Waaayyy lighter too!
  13. I measure the height of the front tire, divide it in half, mark the point @ the 3 & 9 position with a piece of tape so I can replicate precise measurements. Then I follow this LSR guide for recommended settings.... http://lsracing.com/img/Guide_21.pdf Using one of theses from Harbor Freight... http://www.harborfreight.com/dial-gauge-angle-finder-34214.html That's all you need to know!
  14. I know it's the end of our season... but I wanna dune at least 1 more weekend!! I've some friends that are going to Buttercup, and going there is the sacrifice I'll make if no one's going to Glamis... but it's really a distant 2nd choice. Soooo.... anyone hitting up Glamis this weekend? I need peeps to ride with at the G or I'm reduced to Buttercup!
  15. "I dont plan to do any competitive racing. Just ripping around at Silver lake sand dunes, some trails (maybe 2 times a year), and around family property." I don't have experience with these Fox shocks personally, but they seem to share similar design characteristics as the Fox 2.5's they run on buggy's in the respect that there seems to be very little damping fluid relative to suspension travel. They get hot quick and require frequent maintenance to change out the fluid. On the upside, the buggy shocks are a do-it-yourself inexpensive kit. Again... IDK if the ATV shocks have the same maintenance convenience. I'd imagine that for someone wanting to do what you're looking to do -- the Fox would be just fine in either length. I agree with Tyler with his choice of shock for hillshooting or dragging because of their infinite "of the spot" adjustability with air pressure, however that's one of the reasons I wouldn't want them for long rides. Unless they were nitrogen filled, they would get stiffer as they heat up. I see it happen all the time to the buggy guys I ride with. For me... I chose a spring type shock with reservoirs (custom Axis) and beat the crap out of them with regularity. I go on 1+hour rides and damping consistency is important to me. I have not regretted my decision. As to the LT question... it doesn't seem to really be a factor for your riding requirements. You'd have to be able to justify the additional shock weight vs. performance improvement I'd think...
  16. What was the name of the sponsor that sold stators a year or 2 ago on BHQ?
  17. Getting off work @ midnight on Thu so I'm either gonna sack up and drive out after work or head out Fri morning. Staying 'till at least Monday (or as long as there are peeps to ride with). Gonna be on Wash 23, PM me your contact info if you wanna get together and rip it up! It looks like we're gonna have a respectable size group this time around... Hitting "The Ceiling" is definitely on the list this time out...
  18. I'm going to be at Wash 23 from Friday to Sunday or Monday (25-27 or 28) Where are you guys camping? We should all meet up! There's usually a bunch of green flags around our camp...
  19. I think I'll ask about what is the best oil to use.... Then I'll bomb on about why I use what I use.... And state why your recommendation sux.... :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
  20. How many miles did you ride on your last LSOK weekend meetup?
  21. Heading out to Glamis again this weekend == I think I might camp at Keyhole or Roadrunner this time. Calling for mid 70ºs so it should be epic. Bringing my favorite double bubble shotglass so LMK if you wanna do a few!
  22. Sweet -- I'm camping out with the DuneKat too! See you there at the Wash over Easter weekend...
  23. Where is he? If he's in SanD, I'll pick them up for you personally...
  24. I need these gone... let's knock 10bux off!
