I tried another post but figured I scared people off with putting LRD pipes in the title.Well I bought them off a fellow HQer and I can't remember where he said to start .From the research it looks like I should start around 340-330 for the main jet but what position for the clip on the needle from the blunt end?I know no one really runs these pipes but I figure they have to be close to toomey T5's or something.I have stock carbs and airbox removed with the Toomey 2into1 air filter setup and of course LRD pipes.It would be jetting for summertime also.

Alright I bought the pipes off a fellow member and I can't remember what he said to start at for jetting.Its a stock bore banshee with wiseco pistons, stock carbs,stock needles,stock porting, ,stock reeds,K&N pod filters with no airbox and the LRD adjustable exhaust.The elevation is between 600 and 1200 feet and the temps would be between 60f and up to 90f.Thanks
  3. truthfully why do you have to smoke it in a bong,why can't you just roll it in paper for the time and leave the bong at home?I know my buddys always said that you get higher or something with a bong but it seems like it would be a pain in the ass to carry it around versus rollin it in papers.And why would you ask something stupid like that to begin with?You should have known people were gonna give you a hard time :shoothead:

Alright if the shrader valve is the little valve that looks like a valve core then yes the tester had one on the end the went into the head and one up top by the needle gauge and it had a rubber O ring seal at the end that went into the head.I got it from autozone.It was a new one and not one they had been renting out but it still could have been bad.I did check the reeds and they look fine no holes or wear marks but they did have little black specs of something on them that wipes off :shrug: .I did plan on getting the cylinders checked and bored if need be and have them ported while there off the bike and get some wiseco's also.I'm gonna have R&B racing do a dune port on them and I also just bought a LRD exhaust system off a fellow HQ'er so add some pod filters and it should run great.So I guess I will just assume the tester was bad or I had a leak somewhere and I'll clean the carbs and throw it all together.Thanks

Alright I have a completly stock all original 03 banshee I bought a month ago.Stock air box,filter exhaust everything same as it was from the factory.It has ran great and starts 1st or 2nd kick and the other day It started running crappy for 2 minutes and then died.I checked the gas and it was empty.So I put 2 gallons in it and tried to start it and nothing.I thought maybe I fouled the plugs so I put 2 new plugs in it and still nothing.checked the spark and plenty of spark but went a head and did the TORS removal to be sure.still sparking and getting gas so I bought a compression tester and with the throttle closed it read in the 80's each cylinder and with the throttle open it wouldn't get above 60psi while kicking and lost all the comprssion as soon as I quit kicking.I went a head and tore the top end apart and everything looks fine to me.The cylinders are smooth no scratchs and on the left and right sides of the cylinder you can still see the hone marks but not on the front and back of the cylinders its smooth but no scraths.The pistons look good also and the rings are fine and not broke so what is the deal?Can the rings look fine but still need to be replaced or what?My altitude is around 600 ft and the temp has been 40f or higher when I was riding with the stock 200 mains in it which my owners manual says is fine to 31f then I should bump up 2 220's .I am also mixing 32:1 oil same as the previous owner.

    bansheedan-Yeh actually I was bidding on some early this morning.I wanted to pay $300-350 for a nice set cause you can get them new from rockymountain for $500 with free shipping.Badshee- what kind of shape are yours in and how old are they.are there any dents, rust, discoloration ,scratchs?For $400 they would have to look brand new and come with everything and it would have to be $400 shipped.

  11. I have a stupid question but I have to ask,are those dents in the picture of the FMF's suppose to be there?I was thinking they were to fit in between the frame but I thought I would ask to be sure.
  12. I am in need of pipes but I don't think the power cores are spark arrested.What would I have to do about spark arrestors if I bought them?

Alright the vouchers are free all they do is garuntee you a spot getting in the park.They go by 2hour increments starting at I believe 7Am.The ORV sticker last year was $16.25 and its probably going to go up this year a little.A day pass into the park I believe was around $6.00 a day or around $25 for a seasonal.I don't think you need a orv for the truck if it just stays in the parking lot.They should post the prices on the website you posted later in the year when they decide the prices for 07.You have to be 21 to stay at Silver city campground and that is a definent party place and 18 to stay at Val Du and that is also a party place.Val Du use to be more of a party place then it is now but if you go on a busy weekend then it is fun and Val Du has the Bikini Bar thats pretty fun also on a busy weekend.Last year when we stayed at Val Du there were some guys having a bachelor party there and they had strippers there :biggrin: .I was surprised to see what girls will do for a beer

You definently need spark arrestors or they won't let you out there.You could always throw the stock silencers on there for the trip or get some pretty cheap on ebay or a fellow member on here.As for places to stay I would suggest Val Du Lakes campground or Silver City campgrounds if you want a drinking and party type place to stay or if you just want a cheap place to stay then I would suggest the state park campgrounds.Don't forget the flag ,there about $25 if I remember and you can get them at the store right at the park entrance and you will need a voucher to get in on the weekends after Memorial day and you will have to get a state offroad sticker and either a daily pass to get in the park pr a seasonal for a little more.The sand changes daily so some days there are more jumps then other times but you should be able to find some there.Most of the hills are peaked pretty good in the spring because of all the wind from the winter.We will be there in April for sure And we are gonna try to go once a month or so this summer so maybe we will see you out there

Alright thanks for all the info guys.The quad runs great,its the first banshee I've ever ridden but it seems to run like a raped ape so I would assume it's ok.My friends told me that you should rebuild the top end on a 2 stroke every couple years so I was going by that but I guess thats not necasarrily true then.I read back further in the forums and found how to check the compression but I didn't see what a good compression reading should be?I will have to get a compression tester and check it and rebuild them when it drops.Thanks again guys

Well guys I got my first banshee the other day.Its an 03 completely stock.I absolutely love it.I don't think I'm ever gonna ride my honda 400ex again after this thing.I don't know much about 2 strokes so I;m trying to learn.I decided on klotz techniplate for oil from reading posts on here but I can't decided on pistons.I know to go with forged for durability but which ones,Wiseco or Vitto's.I am gonna keep them stock bore probably.I like the idea of Vitto's coming with all the gaskets and stuff.Another question is am I going to notice a difference in power with new ones over stock ones and will I have to rejet after the piston change.It will be my only mod for now.
