  2. sweet.. i will try him tomarrow.it just sucks that i came back from camping and had the brand new shiftshaft and bolt.thats all i needed to finish the motor.man then i did something i knew would end badly. im an ass! it could be running tonight. oh well whats another week waitin for parts.lol don russell
  3. i tried stuffing rags and using one of those sears like oil filter wrenches that use rubber to hold. wow ching! don

  5. well while trying to tighten my nut i busted 2 ears of the stock basket, so now i guess im in the market for a basket.let me know what you have thanks don.

  7. well i got home today and i got my shift shaft on fri so i was putting the stuff together,could not get the inner hub to torque(do not have the tool) well i red necked it and broke 2 of the ears off. so does anyone have some to fess up? is there a secrete if you do not have that tool? don
  8. well i gues that the shocks only fit one way. name to the front and tops like you say thanks..i will try to get some picks up soon. im still waiting for the new elka rear shock w/new linkage..don
  9. well i finally got my a-arms (i have had the piggy backs for 2 weeks). anyway i can not figure out how to install the arms. there are stickers on what i thought was the front. so does the stright edge go to the front ,or does the edge of the a-arm that has a curve to it go towards the front? thanks for any direction. i can build my engine but this is crazy..lol...don russell

  11. i guess mostly i will be riding trails and i want the power down low to mid.for getting crazy.. does it sound like a decent set up? don
  12. i did a search.. ok, so i have a 4mm stroker with the 795 pistons.the piston is seriously out of the bore(maybe 1/4) which is probably normal. i have custom domes for the noss head, checked them and they clear just fine. i have 35mm pwk's,adj. timing,v-force 3's,billet intakes w/ the reed spacers. my cylinders were ported by r@b it is his aggressive dune port,transfers done and all of that except boost ports.oh yeah i also have cpi small bore pipes. so now we know a little about my engine... what should my timing be? i know i have to run race gas because of the domes i got so i guess i can get a few more than 4 deg's of timing. let me know what you think. don russell
  13. well i was filing my rings today did one set at .11 and when i sized up the other set they were already at .11, is this comon? just wondering i checked it 2 times. then i went to install one circlip on each piston and found that there was only one clip in my second piston's box(in brand new baggy) just kinda bitching about that. don

  18. hey thanks. pretty good prices there too. i think im going to get the whole shift shaft and a screw. because there is alot of wear. don russell
  19. well it moves ever so slightly up and down,but there is so much slop in the shift shaft it does not do any good. then again i can play with it and shift it a few times and then it gets caught up in the middle of a gear(until i spin tranny) then it will click in that gear. is that normal?( i know the tranny is moving all of the time so that might be ok??) i just thought that when i shift it and have pressure on the sprocket or tranny it would just shift,not so.. any ideas?? thanks don
  20. well im guessing that i do need the adjuster then, cause if i move it, it does not move up or down. where could i get one of these guys? don
  21. ok im putting my engine back together and im to the point where im trying to adjust the shifter adjuster. i have had the thing in all of the way,all of the way out and it does not seem to matter where i adjust it to it does not move. any sugestions? i have the clymer its not really clear where it moves the shifter away from the shift star, or moves the arm up and down. please help i want to get this running by the weekend. thanks don russell
