  1. in need of a rear shock!!
  2. i'm running what was on the bike when i bought it which are sand skate 2
  3. went riding today in the sand with my shee that has tr6 pipes and the jet kit , and foam filter that came with the pipes, air box removed, tors removed, and i have a barnett clutch, other than that my shee is totally stock. i lined up with a guy that had a piped 2007 lt-r 450 with a cherry bomb, the area we were racing i would say is 4-500 feet, we raced about 7 or 8 times with him winning every time by about 1 or two lengths. i would get him everytime out of the hole but at about half way he would pull even with me and eventualy pass me. I did a lot better than i thought i would against his lt r450 since i'm a newb and he has been riding for years. I plan on getting a noss cool head, v force 3 reeds advancing my timing 4 and getting a f.a.s.t. dune port, unfortunatly jeff is going to be a lil too busy for a while so i'm going to have wait till later this year for the porting, but i'll be ordering my head, reeds and timing plate in the next week or so, so my question to you guys is, with the head, reeds and timing plate, will i be able to beat the lt-r 450 if he stays with the same set up??? and how would i do against a piped yfz 450??? thx guys.

  5. got the bike to start, i pulled the carbs and gave them a good cleaning with carb cleaner and air , put them back together and tried kicking it with no luck, decieded to try and push start it, started right up, i let it warm up for a while rode it for about 5 minutes then let it sit for a few hours to cool off. after it had cooled off, i kicked it over and started up on first kick everytime.
  6. ok, i'm gonna give it a go tomorrow after i get home from work, ............ do i need to remove all of the jets or can i leave any in? sorry if thats a dumb question but not sure if i need to completly dissassemble the carbs like the clymer shows.
  7. looked at that also, checked out fine, looks like i'm gonna have to tear into the carbs, was hoping i wouldnt have to, I have never done it before, this is the first bike i have ever owned and needless to say i have never worked on one, been reading my clymers book on the carbs, any tips for a rookie????
  8. 96 banshee with tr-6 pipes, tors removed, k&n filter with outer wear. new top and bottom end 6 months ago, banshee ran fine till now. went riding saturday, got to our riding place and throttle was sticking so i chased down the the throttle cable looking for any tight bends on the cable didnt find anything wrong, kept hitting thumb throttle for a few minutes and throttle stopped sticking, rode the bike for a few hours and everything seemed fine. when we were finished riding i unloaded the bike to park in the garage and tried to start it to ride it in the garage it wouldnt start, was too tired to mess with it at that point so i just pushed it in. I planned on going out again this weekend so i decided to make sure it would start and it wouldnt, i changed the plugs thinkin maybe i fouled them and still wouldnt start, checked fuel hose right after it tee's and connects to the carbs and i had good flow, pulled spark plugs out to see if i was getting spark and both plugs were giving a nice blue arc. any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.
  9. elevation here is 1000ft, if there isnt much of a diff with just these mods, maybe i should just wait till i can get the porting done???
  10. alright so i plan on getting an adjustable timing plate and advance 4, getting the v force 3 reeds, keeping the toomey tr 6 pipes for now , i'm going to get my stock head milled , i want to be able to run pump gas still, so how much do you recommend taking off?? i'm going to have to wait till next winter to get my port job, i plan on going through jeff @ FAST for the porting and i know he's pretty slammed right now, so would i feel much of a difference without the port job and just having these mods for now?? thanks guys. oh yeah i know it doesnt make a diff in power but the crank is welded and tors is removed.
  11. thanks a lot guys apprieciate your help, and 10,000 for the shee huh??? i knew i got a great deal on it!!!
  12. lol come on man, dont make me feel bad bout the price i bought the shee for, but anyways elevation here in moses lake is 1060 feet, there are some small sand dunes here that are less than 5 minutes from my house, i'll be doing 90 percent of my riding there, but i also plan on making some trips down to the oregon coast and i plan on going to st. anthonys in idaho, i weigh 170 lbs .......................... and i was thinkin i got a decent deal on the shee, so pls let me keep thinkin that lol thanks man
  13. i bought a 96 shee for 4,000, came with stock plastics with new grafics for the stock plastics also came with a new set of the craptor plastics, stock wheels that still have the stock knobbies on them, another set of wheels, not sure what kind that have gecko paddles on them, both top and bottom were rebuilt at the same time, was told the motor is just now broken in, was jetted at the same time motor was rebuilt, new barnett clutch, toomey-6 pipes, and k&n air filter. what mods should i get next, i do mostly dune riding, was thinkin of buying a set of yfz 450 shocks. not sure what my first purchase for my shee should be, what do you guys think?? thanks in advance.
