  1. I modded my stock one a while ago with no problems. I just slotted the holes like AKheathen said. Used a die grinder with a carbide bit same size as the mounting hole. I dont think its quite 4 degrees but its advanced some.
  2. Ive had mine break clean off, only holding on by one bolt. Just cleaned it up and welded er back on. That was about 2 years ago, no probs since.
  3. take $180 shipped on that axle?

  12. yes, but the water itself isn't corrosive, it reacts with the alcohol to produce formic acid, which is corrosive. The 15% gas in e85 simply takes the concentration of the ethanol alcohol down, reducing its ability to take in water, ultimately reducing its corrosiveness. Snopczynski- Do they purge flexfuel vehicles? No. I'm not running methanol, I'm running ethanol which has a much lower solubility with water; so unless Im goin to let my bike sit for a month there is no need to purge. If you want to, thats fine.
  13. so are there 400-440 jets for stock carbs available, or will I have to drill some of my old ones out? Also whats the max you can mill off of a stock head? As far as purging e85 I don't this its necessary as the 15% gas really takes the corrosive properties down as well as the ethanol alcohol is already not being as corrosive as methanol alcohol, however I'm goin to get some alcohol resistant hose to go from tank to carbs anyways. I got this blue goodyear hose down at the local speed shop for my chevelle thats alcohol resistant and reasonably priced, it should work fine.
  14. so...... E85 is about 105 octane and wont detonate with 12.5:1 compression; thats what my Chevelle's compression is. Whats the smallest size domes I could run to get this ratio? More compression is really the only reason Id want to switch over.
  15. woohoo! consider me there, I cant wait
  16. so if I were to rejet my stock carbs I can run e-85?
  17. Hey guys Im almost done with switchin my 65 chevelle over to run on e-85 ethanol and I thought, hell why couldnt my banshee run on the same stuff? Up here in northeast Nebraska more and more e85 stations are poppin up, so I might as well use it. With 105 octane I could run some pretty high compression ratios which means a hell of alot more power, plus it would smell like popcorn or bread, at least thats what they tell me. E-85 has about 28% less energy value (i.e. btu per pound) than straight gas so I would need to put about 28% more fuel (in theory). Do you think running a 30% larger main jet in my stock carbs would suffice, or should I get some aftermarket pwks or the like? Or do I need alcohol carbs? Im alot more knowledgeable about Holley 4150 carbs. Has anyone ever heard of makin the switch? Also will any 2-cycle oil mix in properly to get the proper atomization? Give me your thoughts on this. I like a challenge
  18. firehead- I just got back from a road trip from nebraska to montana and I was surprised to see the majority of light diesel trucks on the roads were duramax. My dad drives a semi cross country and he has also noticed this trend over the years. I didnt keep count or nothin like that but jus somethin I noticed. There was a handful of cummins and powerstrokes (more cummins than powerstrokes) pullin there snowmoblie trailers and campers but most were duramax, I was surprised, used to be the other way around in the late 90s. If you want my opinion get a duramax, but its each to his own.
  19. Im likin the bottom one jeff, but which ever one you pick put "Holton, KS" on it like jbooker said. Make em in different colors too, like red or black and Ill get one of each, but only if you get them in small! I hate big shirts, lemme know when you get em made!
  20. how much for the vf3 reeds?
  21. Im with BenBB on this one, yfzcentral.com all the way, I got a whole 450 stock front end off there for cheap to put on my banshee. That setup would probly work good on your mini-baja, Im on the University of Nebraska's mini baja team, we fabricate our a-arms cause quad arms are too short.
  22. You could get them ceramic coated, not as shiny but would definitly be a different look, wouldnt turn blue. Getting someone to ceramic coat them would be easier than a chrome plater. Ive got some jet-hot coated headers on my chevelle, well worth the money
  23. hey thanks for the replies guys; now does anyone have pics of thier transfer ports?
